The NFL is finally back. We’ve all made it through the long, grueling offseason. We grinded the waiver wire, executed our rookie drafts and made trades to set our teams up for success. Now it is time to enter the points-scoring season. Each week I will bring my buy, sell, hold trade recommendations heading into the upcoming week to improve your dynasty teams. Below is my dynasty trade advice for Week 1 where I dive into fantasy football players to buy, sell, and hold.
Make sure to also use our dynasty trade analyzer and updated dynasty trade value chart for any trades you’re mulling over.

Dynasty Buy, Sell, Hold: Week 1
Buy: Isaiah Likely (TE – BAL)
Isaiah Likely is easily the top backup/handcuff tight end in fantasy football. He played seven games last season without Mark Andrews. He scored 10+ PPR points in five games, finished as TE5 or better in five games and scored touchdowns in five of those games, per Sleeper.
If Andrews does miss time, unless you are rostering an elite tight end, Likely instantly becomes an every-week starter for your team. Per KeepTradeCut, he is currently valued as the TE15 and has adjacent value to players like Raheem Mostert, Devin Singletary and Jalen McMillian, or a 2025 late second-round pick.
Sign me up if I can move off an expiring running back, an unproven wide receiver down on the depth chart or a late second-round pick I can get back later down the line.

Sell: Xavier Worthy (WR – KC)
If there was ever a prime spot to sell a player without them playing in a regular season game, it would be right now with Xavier Worthy. Marquise Brown going down with an injury significantly opens the window to sell before Thursday’s kickoff. He was already gaining steam with the training camp and pre-season highlights.
I wouldn’t be looking to tier down from Worthy. I would use him to tier up to a different wide receiver we’ve seen produce. Guys like Jaylen Waddle or Tee Higgins. I would try for Waddle/Higgins and a third for Worthy and a second. If you’re rookie fever is still burning, potentially targeting Rome Odunze could be an option in your league with Worthy more likely to produce sooner.
Xavier Worthy’s just too fast ????

Hold: Justin Herbert (QB – LAC)
Currently ranked as the QB12, per FantasyPros’ expert consensus rankings (ECR), Justin Herbert fell two spots this past week. I don’t see being able to move him for any QB ranked ahead of him at this time. Tiering down likely wouldn’t net much of a plus with another QB.
Most are assuming that based on Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman’s track record together, Herbert won’t see as many opportunities to throw the ball as he has previously. While that very well could be the case, we just don’t know that until we see this offense operate. Harbaugh has not had a QB of this caliber in the NFL before. There’s no urgency to buy or sell him until we get a glimpse of what the offense truly looks like.
Could his value decline after Week 1? Absolutely. Could his value ascend after Week 1? Also absolutely. Only time will tell if buying or selling is the better transaction.
