Devy Watch: Conner Weigman, Jaxson Dart, Nick Martin (Fantasy Football)

With two weeks in the books, we now focus on Week 3 of College Football. I’ve got three devy fantasy football prospects for you to watch this weekend as you begin to prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Devy Watch

Nick Martin (LB – Oklahoma State)

There is no doubt that Oklahoma State isn’t beating the best teams in College Football, but their starting linebacker, Nick Martin, has really stood out. Through two games this season, Martin has 26 tackles, one sack and 5.5 tackles for loss. However, this shouldn’t be surprising as Martin had 140 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks last season.

When watching Martin, he finishes tackles and has the desired burst when fitting against the run. He’s got a nice combination of pass coverage and pass rushing ability that should allow him to play all three downs at the next level. This week, the Cowboys play Tulsa and I’d look for Martin to compile another strong performance.

Jaxson Dart (QB – Ole Miss)

It would be wrong if I didn’t include Jaxson Dart as a prospect to watch for this week. He had a historic performance against Middle Tennessee in Week 2 after completing his first 24 pass attempts. He finished 25-for-27 for 377 yards and one touchdown against the Blue Raiders.

Whether it was throwing designed screens or over the middle of the field on crossing patterns, Dart never got out-of-rhythm. He’s got a good release and consistently threw with a clean base last week. There were drives where the Rebels would pick up the tempo and go no-huddle and Dart was still consistent.

Being drafted is every player’s dream but for Dart, it’s becoming a reality. At this point, it’s hard to say which round we may see him get drafted, but he’s off to an impressive start this season. He’s completed 87% of his passes and has 795 yards passing with six touchdowns. We’ll keep tabs on him this weekend as Ole Miss goes on the road to Wake Forest in Week 3.

Conner Weigman (QB – Texas A&M)

There were high hopes for Conner Weighman going into this season, but he’s off to a slow start. Through two weeks, he’s only completed 52.3% of his passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Despite Florida not looking all that good, it won’t be easy for Weigman to go into the Swamp against the Gators’ defense.

That said, there’s still plenty of football left to play and Weigman could get hot any time for the Aggies’ offense. If so, he has the talent to be a day-one or day-two pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. For now, we’ll hold off on his draft projection and hope he can start playing better.

With a big test against Florida in Week 3, this could be one of the most pivotal games in his draft evaluation and on the schedule for Texas A&M. It’s a good spot for him, as the Gators allow 367 passing yards per game. Keep tabs on him; this could be a spot for Weigman to put his arm strength, mobility and ability to throw with touch on display this week.
