Patriots coach Jerod Mayo said Drake Maye will play in the Patriots preseason opener.

Maye continues to compete with Jacoby Brissett for the starting quarterback job. It appears Brissett has the edge as of now, but the rookie will still compete throughout the preseason.

The Minnesota Vikings listed Sam Darnold as the starter on their initial depth chart.

This comes as no surprise as all reports all offseason have suggested that Darnold will open the season as the starter. J.J. McCarthy and Nick Mullens were listed as Co-QB2’s on the depth chart.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Jordan Love will play in the preseason opener against the Browns in Cleveland on Saturday.

The Packers starters are all expected to play. It likely won’t be for long, but we will see the starters for at least a series or two. Love is fresh off his big contract extension as he looks to carry his success from last season into this year.
