Jaylen Warren (hamstring) could miss ‘a few weeks’
Steelers RB Jaylen Warren could miss “a few weeks” with a hamstring injury he suffered Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Warren’s status for the season opener with the Falcons is uncertain. This should leave Najee Harris as the primary back heading into the regular season, with Cordarrelle Patterson serving as the backup running back until Warren is healthy. Fantasy managers should expect the Steelers to provide an update on the severity of the hamstring injury soon.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling dealing with neck sprain
Buffalo Bills WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who left Saturday’s game early on a cart with a neck injury, is dealing with a neck sprain. His X-rays came back negative as well.

Fantasy Impact

Overall, this is a fairly positive result given the situation, though the injury is still an unfortunate one. It seems unlikely that he will be available for the Bills’ preseason finale, though it’s not impossible and his situation should remain monitored to see when he can return. He will serve as one of Buffalo’s top deep threats in a remodeled WR corps.

Gardner Minshew II named starting quarterback
Gardner Minshew II has been named the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders according to Tom Pelissero.

Fantasy Impact

Raider head coach Antonio Pierce informed Minshew II and Aidan O’Connell of his decision Sunday. The veteran signal-caller will look to find more consistent success through the air for a passing attack that struggled to do so in 2023. The Raiders begin the season with a divisional matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers September 8.
