Demarcus Robinson expected to secure WR3 job
Demarcus Robinson is expected to secure the WR3 role for the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Impact

Robinson emerged as a quality depth piece over the back half of last season, and it looks like the team wants to get him more involved in 2024. He reportedly has been a ‘star’ at training camp this year and is squarely ahead of Tutu Atwell for the WR3 role on this offense. He could have week-to-week streaming value in this role, especially if either Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua has to miss any time this season.

J.J. McCarthy not getting any reps with Vikings’ first team
Minnesota Vikings rookie QB J.J. McCarthy has not yet taken reps with Minnesota’s first-team offense.

Fantasy Impact

This should not be taken as an indictment of McCarthy as free agent veteran acquisition Sam Darnold has been a standout in Vikings camp this offseason. He looks like the early favorite to start over the rookie, who HC Kevin O’Connell said is continuing to work on progress and not perfection. McCarthy is still working his way toward becoming the team’s franchise QB, but he is not quite there yet.

Javon Baker seeing work on punt team
New England Patriots WR Javon Baker was seeing some work with the punt coverage team on Thursday as a gunner and on the line of scrimmage.

Fantasy Impact

It should be no concern that Baker is seeing time with the special teams unit, as most rookies do. He has still been getting work with the offense as well. Baker has a chance to push for a role as the team’s outside receiver as a rookie, and special teams snaps give him more time to perform in front of coaches.
