Thursday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Logan Webb (SF) vs. ATL
Logan Webb is a beast at home. According to FanGraphs, in 27 starts at home spanning 187.2 innings since last year, Webb has had a 2.35 ERA, 2.97 xFIP, 1.00 WHIP, 63.8 GB%, 4.0 BB%, 21.8 K% and 24 quality starts. He's been automatic at Oracle Park and has a decent matchup today.
The Braves are 19th in wRC+ (95) with a 24.8 K% versus righties and tied for 17th in wRC+ (94) with a 24.1 K% on the road this year. Atlanta is tied for 13th in wRC+ (106) with a 28.1 K% since the All-Star break, and Jorge Soler will sit out of today's contest. Thus, the Giants are -115, and the game's total is a pitcher-friendly 7.0 runs.
Jose Quintana (NYM) vs. OAK
Jose Quintana isn't an ace like Webb at home, and the veteran lefty has been a bit lucky. Nevertheless, he's done well at home. In 17 starts at home totaling 94.0 innings since last year, Quintana has had a 3.16 ERA, 4.29 xFIP, 1.19 WHIP, 7.1 BB%, 19.1 K% and eight quality starts.
His rock-solid numbers at home should play against the Brent Rooker-less Athletics. Oakland is 10th in wRC+ (111) with a 23.7 K% versus lefties this year. Yet, the A's are tied for 19th in wRC+ (93) with a 26.6 K% on the road. Finally, the Mets are -180, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
The Mets are 10th in wRC+ (107) versus righties and ninth in wRC+ (110) at home this year, making them a formidable offense to stack against underwhelming pitchers. Mitch Spence is under the underwhelming pitcher umbrella. In 45.1 innings on the road in his rookie campaign, Spence has had a 4.96 ERA, 4.34 xFIP, 1.79 HR/9 and yielded a .340 wOBA to 191 batters. The Mets can produce fireworks this afternoon.
Core Studs
- Tyler Fitzgerald is on a nuclear heater. In his previous 104 plate appearances, he's hit 11 homers and stolen five bases with a .385 OBP, .432 ISO and 213 wRC+. His multi-position eligibility will also allow gamers to use him with Francisco Lindor at FD.
- Since 2022, Pete Alonso has had a .327 OBP, .246 ISO and 126 wRC+ against right-handed pitching.
- Mark Vientos has drilled 17 homers with a .332 OBP, .265 ISO and 143 wRC+ in 283 plate appearances in a breakout campaign this year.
Value Plays/Punts
- In Jeff McNeil's last 86 plate appearances, he's hit six homers with a .360 OBP, .333 ISO and 179 wRC+.
- Gavin Lux rejoins McNeil as a suggestion today. In his previous 82 plate appearances, Lux has hit four homers and stolen one base with a .415 OBP, .264 ISO and 185 wRC+.
- In 460 plate appearances against lefties since 2022, Mark Canha has hit 14 homers with a .359 OBP, .169 ISO and 122 wRC+.

Jeff McNeil: 1.5 Total Bases - Higher (Scorcher 1.25x)
In addition to being on a heater, McNeil has a drool-inducing matchup today. Spence has coughed up six doubles, four homers, a .275 batting average and .500 slugging to 89 lefties on the road this season.
Shohei Ohtani is tearing the cover off the ball. In 540 plate appearances this year, he's hit 29 doubles, five triples and 37 homers with a .295 batting average, .617 slugging and .323 ISO. Additionally, since 2022, he's had a .303 batting average, .645 slugging and .341 ISO against righties. Meanwhile, Tobias Myers has allowed five doubles, one triple, six homers, a .262 batting average and .415 slugging to 183 lefties this year. So, Myers is an unimposing matchup for Ohtani.
Tyler Fitzgerald: 1.5 Total Bases - Higher (Scorcher 1.24x)
I highlighted Fitzgerald's heater above. Yet, he's also not a slouch against lefties. In 99 career plate appearances against southpaws, Fitzgerald has hit five doubles, one triple and seven homers with a .301 batting average, .602 slugging and .301 ISO.
