Monday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Hunter Brown (HOU) at TEX
Hunter Brown's 4.25 ERA in his previous five starts wasn't something to write home about. Nevertheless, per FanGraphs, he had a 3.19 xFIP, 3.58 SIERA, 6.8 BB%, 24.2 K% and 1.58 WHIP in those 29.2 innings. An unsustainable .407 BABIP inflated Brown's WHIP.
Brown can thrive in a plus matchup tonight. The Rangers are 26th in wRC+ (89) with a 19.9 K% versus righties and tied for 19th in wRC+ (99) with a 20.5 K% at home this year. Texas was also 22nd in wRC+ (90) with an 18.9 K% since the All-Star break. Thus, the Astros are -125, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.
Logan Webb (SF) at WAS
Logan Webb's dominance at home isn't a secret. Yet, his underlying data on the road is rock-solid, too, even if his 4.31 ERA wasn't impressive. In 30 starts spanning 179.2 innings on the road since last year, Webb has had a 3.21 xFIP, 1.30 WHIP, 5.2 BB% and 22.0 K%. Additionally, Webb has had 109 Stuff+, 105 Location+ and 105 Pitching+ in his past four starts.
Webb has a decent matchup tonight. The Nationals are tied for 19th in wRC+ (95) with a 20.8 K% on versus righties and tied for 24th in wRC+ (92) with a 19.0 K% at home this year. As a result, the Giants are -185, albeit with a moderately concerning total of 9.0 runs.
Brady Singer (KC) vs. BOS
Brady Singer has a challenging matchup tonight. The Red Sox are tied for sixth in wRC+ (111) with a 23.2 K% versus righties and tied for third in wRC+ (115) with a 24.6 K% on the road this season. Furthermore, Boston was second in wRC+ (145) with a 21.9 K% since the All-Star break.
Nevertheless, the Royals are -150, and the game's total is 9.5 runs. More importantly, Singer is sharp at home. In 29 starts totaling 170.2 innings at home since last year, Singer has had a 3.48 ERA, 3.88 xFIP, 1.15 WHIP, 7.1 BB% and 21.9 K%. Therefore, Singer is an appealing GPP choice.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
In 18 starts this year, Logan Allen has had a 5.67 ERA, 5.54 xERA, 4.59 SIERA and 1.55 WHIP. The young lefty has also allowed 1.85 HR/9. He's also a favorable matchup for lefties and righties, ceding a .346 wOBA to 65 lefties and a .390 wOBA to 321 righties this season.
The Diamondbacks have a potent offense capable of hammering Allen. Arizona is tied for fifth in wRC+ (117) versus lefties and tied for sixth in wRC+ (107) on the road this year. They were also third in wRC+ (137) since the All-Star break.
- Road (Nationals Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.0 Runs/SF -185
The Giants have an above-average offense and a mouthwatering matchup tonight. This season, San Francisco is fourth in wRC+ (119) versus southpaws and tied for 15th in wRC+ (96) on the road. The Giants were also 15th in wRC+ (108) since the All-Star break.
Meanwhile, Patrick Corbin has had a 5.88 ERA, 5.84 xERA and 4.58 SIERA in 22 starts this season. The veteran lefty has allowed a .338 wOBA to 107 lefties and a .370 wOBA to 423 righties in 2024. Finally, Washington's bullpen has tied for the fourth-highest ERA (4.37) this year, enhancing the appeal to stack the Giants.

Tyler Fitzgerald: 1.5 Total Bases - Higher (Underdog) (Scorcher 1.05x)
Tyler Fitzgerald: 8.0 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
In addition to Fitzgerald's excellent full-season numbers, he's a lefty killer. In 83 career plate appearances against left-handed pitchers, Fitzgerald has hit four doubles, one triple and six homers with four stolen bases, a .304 batting average, .337 OBP, .608 slugging, .304 ISO and 162 wRC+. The rookie is also white-hot. In his previous 71 plate appearances, Fitzgerald has launched 10 homers, three doubles and one triple with a .344 batting average, .408 OBP, .891 slugging, .547 ISO and 255 wRC+.
Logan Webb: 2.5 Earned Runs - Lower (Underdog)/Less (PrizePicks)
Webb was featured as one of the top DFS pitching picks because of his excellence and the soft matchup. In 23 starts this year, the 27-year-old righty has had a 3.49 ERA and 3.61 SIERA. Webb has allowed fewer than 2.5 earned runs in 14 starts this year. Moreover, in 30 starts on the road since last season, Webb has allowed fewer than 2.5 runs 15 times. The coin flip of allowing fewer than 2.5 earned runs in road tilts should lean toward the under because of the lack of potency of Washington's offense.
Matt Wallner: 0.5 Total Bases - Higher (Underdog)/More (PrizePicks)
In 60 plate appearances since Wallner was recalled from Triple-A, he's had a .347 batting average. Wallner has had 17 hits in 17 games, recording a hit in 12 of 15 starts during that period. The slugger should stay hot in a plus matchup tonight. Kyle Hendricks has coughed up a .308 batting average to 187 lefties this year.
