Nick Chubb to begin season on PUP, miss first four games
The Browns are leaving RB Nick Chubb on the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin the season, according to multiple reports. Leaving Chubb on PUP means he is ineligible to play the first four games of the season. If he’s healthy and ready, Chubb will be able to play in Week 5 against the Commanders.
Fantasy Impact
With Chubb recovering from an injury he suffered in Week 2 of last season that included his ACL, MCL and meniscus, so beginning the year on the PUP list was always a possibility, if not a likelihood. All reports indicate that his recovery is going well, so this move is more precautionary than any setback. Given his upside, Chubb is still an intriguing late-round target in fantasy drafts, especially if you’re able to stash him in an IR slot for the first month of the season. While Chubb is out, Jerome Ford is expected to receive the bulk of the work in the Cleveland backfield.

Jacoby Brissett suffers shoulder injury Sunday
New England Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett suffered a right shoulder injury on a sack Sunday in the team’s preseason finale against the Washington Commanders.
Fantasy Impact
Brissett is in pole position to be the team’s Week 1 QB1, though this injury has the potential to complicate matters. While Brissett was able to play a pair of downs after his injury, he was subbed out for rookie QB Drake Maye at the drive’s conclusion, who went out and performed well in his set of snaps. Brissett’s injury should remain closely monitored with the regular season just two weeks away. If he misses any time, it could open up the door further for Maye to start sooner than initially expected.

Ricky Pearsall (shoulder) expected to practice Monday
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Ricky Pearsall will practice on Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Pearsall has been sidelined from training camp due to a shoulder injury. It is unclear if he’ll be fully healthy during the start of the season.
