NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 ABs, or 50 IPs at the Major League level. | All stats as of Sunday, August 4.
MLB Hitters:
- #5 2B/SS Jackson Holliday (Orioles):
-
-
- Season (AAA): .271/.431/.477 | 21.7 BB% / 22.3 K%| 35 XBH, 10 HR, 8 SB
- This Week: 5/16 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Holliday jumped up to the majors this week and smashed a grand slam in his first game back in the bigs.
-
- #11 3B Coby Mayo (Orioles)
-
-
- Season (AAA): .301/.375/.586 | 10 BB% / 24.3 K%| 44 XBH, 20 HR, 4 SB
- This Week: 0/5 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: It’s only been two games so far, but the main thing is Mayo is up in the bigs starting at 3B with Holliday at 2B with Jordan Westburg out.
-
MLB Pitchers:
- #63 SP David Festa (Twins)
-
-
- Season (AAA): 60 1/3 IP | 20 K-BB%, 16.4 SwStr% | 1.46 ERA, 1.70 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
- Notes: Festa is now starting after back-to-back good outings. Festa is a stud and already has a 20% K-BB rate, over 28% CSW and 3.61 SIERA in the majors and can be had on sale due to the bad ERA.
-
- SP River Ryan (Dodgers)
-
-
- Season (AAA): 16 1/3 IP | 19.7 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr% | 2.76 ERA, 1.16 WHIP
- This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 8 Ks, 3 BBs | 1.59 ERA, 0.88 WHIP
- Notes: Ryan didn’t pitch until June this year and was built back up slowly, which means he should have more in the tank to finish the year strong.
-
AAA Hitters:
- #25 1B / 2B / 3B Tyler Black (Brewers)
-
-
- Season: .282/.394/.463 | 12.8 BB% / 16.9 K%| 26 XBH, 11 HR, 16 SB
- This Week: 6/14 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB (5 BBs)
- Notes: Black missed his shot at making the Opening Day roster, getting beat out by Joey Ortiz after a stellar 2023. He had a killer week and is looking for an opening in the Brewers lineup to break through.
-
- #71 C Edgar Quero (White Sox):
-
-
- Season (AA): .275/.360/.463 | 8.9 BB% / 16.8 K%| 24 XBH, 12 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 6/14 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB (4 games)
- Notes: Quero is proving to be a very reliable bat and will likely be the starting catcher for the White Sox at the big league level in for most of 2025.
-
- #75 OF Colby Thomas (Athletics):
-
-
- Season (AAA): .301/.385/.566 | 8.3 BB% / 25.6 K%| 22 XBH, 7 HR, 2 SB
- This Week: 7/19 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Thomas has all-fields power and does a great job of shooting the ball through the gaps and has an over 35% line drive rate this year. He has an open stance with hands up, loaded pre-pitch. He just keeps killing it.
-
- #80 OF Victor Scott II (Cardinals):
-
-
- Season: .219/.302/.318 | 9.8 BB% / 14.3 K%| 15 XBH, 6 HR, 29 SB
- This Week: 7/21 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Scott has changed up his batting stance and has been much better the last month or so.
-
- #120. OF Deyvison De Los Santos (Marlins)
-
-
- Season (AA & AAA): .327/.383/.643 | 52 XBH, 31 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 8/22 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: De Los Santos returned to Arizona with a vengeance after being a Guardians Rule 5 and not making the cut.
-
- 3B Zach Dezenzo (Astros)
-
-
- Season (AAA): .415/.500/.805 | 12.5 BB% / 18.8 K%| 8 XBH, 4 HR, 3 SB (10 games)
- This Week: 7/22 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: Dezenzo was promoted to AAA and just went off after a slow start to the season at AA and a late start recovering from an injury.
-
AAA Pitchers:
- #93 Zebby Matthews (Twins):
-
-
- Season (AA): 55 1/3 IP | 27.3 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr% | 1.95 ERA, 0.76 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 9.00 ERA, 1.80 WHIP
- Notes: Matthews was hit up again for the second straight outing, despite excellent control and excelling swing and miss stuff. I’m not sure if this is just the AAA environment as we have seen very little success from pitchers at AAA this year or if it’s something about him pitching too much in the zone.
-
- SP Chayce McDermott (Orioles)
-
-
- Season: 97 IP | 19.3 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr% | 3.90 ERA, 1.42 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 10 Ks, 3 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP
- Notes: McDermott is a high stuff, bad command guy and we are seeing it this year. He has three plus pitches so we can only hope he gets the control in check to be a starter.
-
- SP Gunnar Hoglund (Athletics):
-
-
- Season (AA): 104 2/3 IP | 16.9 K-BB%, 12.1 SwStr% | 2.84 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 4.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Notes: Hoglund is finally healthy and pitching some serious innings, I bet he’s up at some point this season.
-
AA Hitters:
- #12 C Samuel Basallo (Orioles):
-
-
- Season: .276/.343/.454 | 9.1 BB% / 20.4 K%| 30 XBH, 14 HR, 8 SB
- This Week: 7/12 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: Basallo has been consistently good (especially considering he’s only 19 years old) this season.
-
- #19 OF Roman Anthony (Red Sox):
-
-
- Season: .258/.361/.475 | 13.3 BB% / 25.4 K%| 35 XBH, 13 HR, 14 SB
- This Week: 7/16 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB (4 games)
- Notes: Anthony needs to work on lowering the K rate, but he’s been pretty electric so far this young season. Though he was also caught stealing a couple times as well.
-
- #20 SS/3B Matt Shaw (Cubs):
-
-
- Season: .279/.373/.471 | 12 BB% / 17.8 K%| 28 XBH, 14 HR, 25 SB
- This Week: 14/27 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: Shaw had a killer week and has been hot for a few weeks now. He has a lot more speed in his game than I expected when he was drafted last year.
-
- #32 OF Spencer Jones (Yankees):
-
-
- Season: .239/.326/.411 | 10.9 BB% / 37.2 K%| 32 XBH, 12 HR, 21 SB
- This Week: 6/18 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Jones has had a rough year, but the tools are all still there. He needs to shorten the swing if he’s ever going to live up to his potential.
-
- #68 3B Brock Wilken (Brewers):
-
-
- Season: .229/.330/.414 | 12.7 BB% / 24.5 K%| 26 XBH, 14 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 6/21 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Wilken was nailed in the face with a pitch earlier this year and got off to a slow start when he returned. The power has been coming around lately, but when will the hit tool catch up?
-
- #99 C Dalton Rushing (Dodgers)
-
-
- Season: .267/.377/.491 | 11.5 BB% / 20.3 K%| 31 XBH, 15 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 8/24 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Rushing is off to an improved start in 2024 vs. 2023 by making better contact.
-
- #109 2B/3B James Triantos (Cubs):
-
-
- Season: .298/.345/.432 | 5.2 BB% / 9.8 K%| 29 XBH, 7 HR, 38 SB
- This Week: 6/22 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB
- Notes: Triantos keeps hitting and keeps stealing, there’s a lot of value here in points leagues especially, but if he can be a Luis Arraez with speed – he’s going to be a big time fantasy asset.
-
- #110 Yanquiel Fernandez (Rockies):
-
-
- Season: .285/.341/.443 | 7.6 BB% / 19.1 K%| 28 XBH, 10 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 10/25 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Fernandez has been having a bit of a bounce back year with the hit tool, while the power has not been as we expected. Perhaps he can merge the power and hit as he develops.
-
- OF Chandler Simpson (Rays)
-
-
- Season (AA): .341/.387/.400 | 7.5 BB% / 6.6 K%| 9 XBH, 1 HR, 43 SB
- This Week: 7/19 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 9 SB
- Notes: Simpson has the same questions as Victor Scott about if he can hit enough to be a valuable fantasy asset. Simpson might have the better hit tool to Scott though, while Scott has more power in his bat.
-
AA Pitchers:
- #74 SP Caden Dana (Angels):
-
-
- Season: 111 1/3 IP | 20.2 K-BB%, 12.4 SwStr% | 2.91 ERA, 0.96 WHIP
- This Week: 7 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.71 WHIP
- Notes: Dana looks like old school Thor on the mound with his Viking hair, 94-95 MPH fastball and power slider.
-
- #81 SP Sean Sullivan (Rockies):
-
-
- Season (A+): 83 1/3 IP | 29 K-BB%, 17.7 SwStr% | 2.16 ERA, 0.84 WHIP
- This Week: 9 (2 starts) IP | 12 Ks, 2 BBs| 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Notes: Sullivan had a rough start last time out with a near .500 BABIP, but he should move quickly up levels.
-
- #88 SP Quinn Mathews (Cardinals):
-
-
- Season: 43 2/3 IP | 29.3 K-BB%, 17 SwStr% | 2.68 ERA, 0.76 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
- Notes: Matthews is known as a college guy who pitched a ton of innings and should probably have started in high A, but the Cardinals have been passive about promotions (annoyingly).
-
- SP Mason Barnett (Athletics):
-
-
- Season: 91 2/3 IP | 18.3 K-BB%, 12.5 SwStr% | 4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP
- This Week: 11 IP (2 starts) | 10 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
- Notes: Barnett was traded from the Royals to the Athletics in the Erceg deal and had two starts, one for each team this week.
-
- SP Brandon Sproat (Mets)
-
-
- Season (AA): 62 1/3 IP | 26.7 K-BB%, 16.8 SwStr% | 2.45 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 13 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
- Notes: Sproat has a killer fastball as the second rounder from last year is having a big season. He was just promoted to AAA so let’s see if he can handle the ABS better than teammate Blade Tidwell.
-
- SP Bubba Chandler (Pirates)
-
-
- Season: 80 1/3 IP | 21.2 K-BB%, 13 SwStr% | 3.32 ERA, 1.01 WHIP
- This Week: 7 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 0.43 WHIP
- Notes: Chandler keeps on rolling and should find himself up in AAA soon.
-
- SP Logan Henderson (Brewers)
-
-
- Season (AA): 46 1/3 IP | 28.7 K-BB%, 15.2 SwStr% | 3.30 ERA, 0.88 WHIP
- This Week: 6 1/3 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 2.84 ERA, 0.32 WHIP
- Notes: Henderson might actually end up being better than Misiorowski, based on how I ended up with him in both P1ADP drafts, I’m probably the high guy.
-
A+ Hitters:
- #27 OF Max Clark (Tigers):
-
-
- Season (A): .286/.373/.367 | 13.6 BB% / 22 K%| 2 XBH, 1 HR, 4 SB
- This Week: 8/19 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Clark likes playing in high A where he has been even better than he was in low A.
-
- #107 1B Bryce Eldridge (Giants)
-
-
- Season (A+): .280/.395/.387 | 14.9 BB% / 27.2 K%| 6 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB (25 games)
- This Week: 8/23 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: Big time power potential at a huge 6′ 7″ 223 lb., but he needs to close the gaps in his swing in order to avoid being over exposed to strikeouts.
-
- #114 SS Sebastian Walcott (Rangers)
-
-
- Season: .250/.340/.430 | 11.7 BB% / 26.1 K%| 35 XBH, 10 HR, 15 SB
- This Week: 7/25 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Walcott has been on a tear since early June.
-
- #126 2B / SS Jefferson Rojas (Cubs)
-
-
- Season: .256/.320/.350 | 8.1 BB% / 15.5 K%| 18 XBH, 6 HR, 21 SB
- This Week: 6/22 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: Rojas slowed down a bit after a hot start to the season, but is picking back up again.
-
- #133 1B Cam Collier (Reds)
-
-
- Season: .246/.331/.425 | 10.1 BB% / 26.4 K%| 31 XBH, 15 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 11/20 | 5 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Collier has shown some decent power this season, but the hit tool is still off a bit.
-
- SS Angel Genoa (Guardians)
-
-
- Season (A+): .318/.363/.472 | 6.3 BB% / 18.4 K%| 19 XBH, 4 HR, 8 SB
- This Week: 10/21 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Genoa has been getting on base and stealing bags, but has been lagging in power production the last 6 weeks or so.
-
- 2B Travis Bazzana (Guardians)
-
-
- Season: .333/.412/.600 | 11.8 BB% / 41.2 K%| 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 5/15 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: Bazzana started in high A and has been off to a nice start post-draft.
-
- OF Jhostnyxon Garcia (Red Sox)
-
-
- Season (A+): .290/.347/.618 | 5 BB% / 22.3 K%| 28 XBH, 16 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 8/23 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: The password has been absolutely destroying high A and should be up in AA by the end of the year.
-
- SS Mikey Romero (Red Sox)
-
-
- Season: .279/.323/.526 | 5.2 BB% / 19.8 K%| 31 XBH, 9 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 14/24 | 7 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Romero was a first rounder for the Red Sox in 2022 and looks to be breaking out here the last few months.
-
- OF Chase Davis (Cardinals):
-
-
- Season (A): .232/.337/.401 | 12.7 BB% / 25.1 K%| 29 XBH, 8 HR, 5 SB
- This Week: 9/21 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Davis has been significantly better in high A than low A the last few years, as I predicted because Jupiter is a tough home ballpark.
-
- SS Michael Arroyo (Mariners)
-
-
- Season (A+): .271/.400/.492 | 15.2 BB% / 29 K%| 12 XBH, 6 HR, 2 SB
- This Week: 10/24 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Arroyo is one of the biggest rankings risers of 2024 and keeps on rolling.
-
A+ Pitchers:
- SP Jonah Tong (Mets):
-
-
- Season: 64 1/3 IP | 22.1 K-BB%, 14 SwStr% | 3.36 ERA, 1.26 WHIP
- This Week: 5 1/3 IP | 10 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.38 ERA, 1.31 WHIP
- Notes: Tong has been one of the big breakout pitchers of 2024 and continues to roll forward here and could be in AA by the end of 2024.
-
- SP Thomas White (Marlins):
-
-
- Season (A+): 24 2/3 IP | 22.1 K-BB%, 15.5 SwStr% | 2.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 3 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
- Notes: White has good command, a solid fastball and some really nice breaking pitches.
-
- SP Matt Wilkinson (Guardians):
-
-
- Season (A+): 51 2/3 IP | 25.7 K-BB%, 14.4 SwStr% | 2.61 ERA, 1.01 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
- Notes: Tug Boat Wilkinson keeps on rolling and for his age should be in AA by the end of the year.
-
- SP Alejandro Rosario (Rangers):
-
-
- Season: 23 2/3 IP | 32 K-BB%, 16.4 SwStr% | 3.04 ERA, 1.27 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
- Notes: Rosario continues with another stellar outing and should be in high A soon.
-
- SP Jarlin Susana (Nationals)
-
-
- Season (A+): 20 IP | 29.1 K-BB%, 18.1 SwStr% | 3.15 ERA, 0.85 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
- Notes: Susana has some great stuff and has really started breaking out this year after being more of a stuff guy.
-
- SP Kendry Rojas (Blue Jays)
-
-
- Season: 25 1/3 IP | 22.2 K-BB%, 13.8 SwStr% | 2.84 ERA, 1.30 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Notes: I’m not sure Rojas has the stuff to be a guy, but he does have a decent fastball / slider combo.
-
A Hitters:
- #35 SS Colt Emerson (Mariners):
-
-
- Season: .293/.440/.427 | 18.1 BB% / 14 K%| 15 XBH, 2 HR, 6 SB
- This Week: 6/23 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Emerson hasn’t gotten into his power yet.
-
- SS Arjun Nimmala (Blue Jays)
-
-
- Season: .211/.310/.465 | 10.1 BB% / 33.1 K%| 26 XBH, 12 HR, 5 SB
- This Week: 10/29 | 5 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Nimmala has been catching back up after a terrible start to the season.
-
- C Eduardo Tait (Phillies)
-
-
- Season (A): .296/.321/.667 | 3.6 BB%, 32.1 K% | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 7/16 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Tait’s power has been booming lately, the kid is 17-years-old.
-
- 2B Echedry Vargas (Rangers)
-
-
- Season: .275/.327/.470 | 6.1 BB%, 19.9 K% | 30 XBH, 12 HR, 19 SB
- This Week: 10/22 | 7 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: Vargas had a killer week here and has had a very good season to date. He’s a stealthy prospect.
-
- OF Kendall George (Dodgers)
-
-
- Season: .286/.389/.339 | 14 BB%, 19.6 K% | 10 XBH, 1 HR, 33 SB
- This Week: 14/30 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: George is a stud on the base paths and is almost like a lesser version of James Triantos or Justin Crawford in the OF in my opinion.
-
A Pitchers:
- SP Gary Gill Hill (Rays)
-
-
- Season: 84 IP | 21.3 K-BB%, 13.5 SwStr% | 2.57 ERA, 1.02 WHIP
- This Week: 7 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 1.02 WHIP
- Notes: Gill Hill has been insanely good this year and should be rocketing up prospect lists. Killer fastball / slider combo.
-
- SP Chen-Wei Lin (Cardinals)
-
-
- Season: 89 IP | 17.1 K-BB%, 13.3 SwStr% | 3.24 ERA, 1.06 WHIP
- This Week: 7 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.57 WHIP
- Notes: I was speaking with a scout this weekend who mentioned Lin reminded him of Eury Perez and was wondering why he’s still in low A.
-
- SP Travis Sykora (Nationals)
-
- Season: 57 1/3 IP | 29 K-BB%, 19.8 SwStr% | 2.67 ERA, 0.94 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.20 WHIP
- Notes: Sykora has some really sick stuff as a former third rounder and is a big time name to watch.
