Welcome back to the latest edition of the “Closer Report.” We’re back with another week talking closers. Last week included a lot of big changes in the first chart after the trade deadline. This week’s chart doesn’t have nearly as many changes, but there are some situations on certain teams to monitor with the current closer struggling.

News & Notes
Ryan Helsley has four saves in the past week which has led to him now leading the MLB with 37 saves. Emmanuel Clase follows Helsley with 33 saves while Kyle Finnegan has 30 saves.
Camilo Doval was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento following his recent struggles. Ryan Walker was announced as the closer in Doval’s place for the Giants.
David Bednar has allowed at least one run in four straight appearances, including back-to-back blown saves. He remains the closer for now, but it’s a situation to monitor with Aroldis Chapman touching 105 mph in a recent appearance.
Craig Kimbrel does not have a save since July 7. He has three straight scoreless appearances after allowing runs in four of his previous five appearances. Yennier Cano has two saves in that span and could take on a bigger role as a closer if Kimbrel struggles anymore anytime soon.
