Dynasty Trade Advice: Dallas Goedert, Josh Downs, Cade Otton (Fantasy Football)

One of the best ways to improve your roster in dynasty leagues is to buy when someone’s value is at its lowest. This requires a lot of speculation on your part about where you see a player’s future value heading. Everyone loves buying players before they explode, so here are some guys I like right now due to their current value and what I think they should be worth in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Trade Advice: Buy-Low Candidates in 2024

Josh Downs (WR – IND)

Way down at WR53 in dynasty ECR is the Colts’ WR2 behind Michael Pittman, Josh Downs. Downs was somewhat mediocre as a rookie last year, but that was largely without stud QB Anthony Richardson under center. Richardson is back, which should help raise the value of the entire offense for fantasy purposes. I know that the team added another weapon in Adonai Mitchell, but I trust Downs to be the better of the two in 2024. Rookie receivers don’t often dominate immediately, so I’d rather buy low on the second-year option, who is primed to take off this year.

Dallas Goedert (TE – PHI)

Watching Goedert’s value tumble has been somewhat depressing, but given his output, I also understand it. The Eagles have been very high-powered under QB Jalen Hurts, but Goedert hasn’t exactly been the biggest recipient of that. On top of that, Goedert hasn’t played a full season since his rookie year in 2018. So a combination of injuries, his low production, and him being 29 all combined to make his dynasty ECR of TE13 feel about right to me. That being said, I think this could be a bounce-back year for him. I think he’s got one more TE1 finish in his range of outcomes, so I’m fine buying in now at his current price.

Cade Otton (TE – TB)

Last but not least on this list is the tight end in Tampa Bay, Cade Otton. Otton’s dynasty ECR of TE22 is a screaming value to me right now. The Buccaneers have a lot of depressed assets in the aforementioned Evans, fellow WR Chris Godwin and QB Baker Mayfield. Otton might be the one that I’m most interested in though. He finished as TE19 in PPR scoring last year and should perform better than that in his upcoming third season. We all know that tight ends can take time to adjust to the pro game, well now could be Otton’s time. His value is so low in some places that he’s one of the best buys of the offseason to me. Get him now before it’s too late.
