Devy Trade Targets: Drew Allar, Aidan Chiles, Travis Hunter (2024 Fantasy Football)

By the time you read this, we will be less than three weeks away from Week 1 of the college football season. Before we get there, I am diving into some players I want to acquire before the season kicks off. We want to buy now with the hopes of getting a discount compared to their value once the season begins and we see them on the field. Let’s get into it. Here are a few devy fantasy football trade targets.

Devy Fantasy Football Buys

Drew Allar (QB – Penn State) | 2025 | 6-foot-5, 238 pounds

In a class without a clear-cut top guy comes Drew Allar. A former five-star recruit and QB1 in his recruiting class drawing comparisons to Josh Allen, Allar has not lived up to the hype, to say the least. We have seen plenty of concerns from his footwork to not putting enough velocity on the ball. He did have an impressive touchdown to interception ratio of 12.5:1 showcasing he rarely puts the ball in harm’s way against the tough defenses in the Big Ten. An exceptional athlete at his size, we saw him show his dual-threat ability with 210 rushing yards (keep in mind for college the sack yards are taken away from the rushing yards) and four touchdowns.

With a potential big season on the horizon in Happy Valley under a new offensive coordinator, I am all in on Allar at this point as he should rise in value in a class that is wide open and starved for NFL-caliber QBs heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. You cannot teach some traits he possesses such as his size, arm strength and athletic ability as a runner.

Aidan Chiles (QB – Michigan State) | 2026 | 6-foot-2, 217 pounds

The former Oregon State QB saw minimal playing time behind DJ Uiagalelei but when he did touch the field he gave us a glimpse into the ability he has as a true dual threat. Aidan Chiles possesses the speed to outrun defenders to the edge and defensive backs downfield but also has the strength to run through arm tackles and lower his shoulder to pick up a couple of extra yards. He has shown improvements as a passer from his spring game to the end of the 2023 season and can push the ball downfield.

Following his head coach to Michigan State, he is expected to be the starter coming into the 2024 season. The offense is a bit of a mystery with a new system in place and many new faces set to play without many notable names around him. It could be the Aidan Chiles show to start the season, putting him in the spotlight early and often, which would bode well for his devy value.

Travis Hunter (WR/DB – Colorado) | 2025 | 6-foot-1, 185 pounds

The ultimate wild card and riskiest devy asset in the game today. Will he play WR or DB at the NFL level? That is the question the devy community wants an answer to. Unfortunately, I don’t believe we will have the answer until his name is called on draft night in Green Bay. I love taking a swing on Travis Hunter right now. I have said since he was a freshman at Jackson State that if he solely played WR he would easily be a top-five WR in the 2025 class. The kind of upside is worth the potential risk of him playing on the defensive side of the ball in the NFL.

Get at least one share of Hunter today. If you don’t like the chances of him being drafted as a WR, sell him off during the college season and make a quick profit on him.
