Devy Fantasy Football Trade Advice: Players to Sell (2024)

We are now less than two weeks until week one of the college football season. The window to sell players before we see them take the field is quickly closing. I am diving into a couple of players I am looking to sell before the season kicks off. You may want to sell a player for many reasons, but one of the top reasons should be to maximize value before the possibility of it declining.

Devy Fantasy Football Trade Advice

Evan Stewart (WR – Oregon) | 2025 | 6-foot-0, 175 pounds

Stewart came into Texas A&M as the number one WR in his recruiting class with sky-high expectations to produce out of the gate. He may not have had the season most hoped for but he did compile over 50 receptions, over 600 yards, and two touchdowns. His sophomore season was unfortunately derailed by injuries to himself and his QB Conner Weigman. Once Weigman went down so did Stewart’s production. Soon after the season, he transferred to Oregon for a fresh start and aligned with fellow 2025 WR Tez Johnson.

It will not be a shock if Stewart plays Robin to Johnson’s Batman this season. If that is the case, his devy value will take a huge hit in a loaded WR class. Currently, I am looking to use his early production at Texas A&M, recruiting profile, and DeVonta Smith comparisons to extract as much value as I can before Johnson outshines him.

Carnell Tate (WR – Ohio State) | 2026 | 6-foot-3, 191 pounds

Tate burst onto the scene in 2023 during spring practice and played well in the spring game. Although he had a very quiet freshman season, his value seemed to remain around the top 10 devy WRs. He comes into his sophomore season as the second WR next to Emeka Egbuka in the offense with high expectations to further impress and build on his successful 2023 spring. There are a couple of players that could push Tate for target share such as fellow sophomore Brandon Inniss and super freshman Jeremiah Smith.

Currently, his value still holds steady but could quickly decline if he struggles to secure the WR2 role and is overshadowed by Inniss or Smith. A few names I am looking to pivot to are Zachariah Branch, Eugene Wilson III, Kevin Concepcion, Barion Brown, and Tez Johnson.

Ollie Gordon (RB – Oklahoma State) | 2025 | 6-foot-2, 225 pounds

This one is simple for the 2023 Doak Walker Award winner, his value cannot ascend from what it currently is. He is viewed by most as the RB1 in the 2025 class. We know how volatile the RB position is and how one injury can completely change their value. I’m ready to cash out on Gordon’s value before something transpires between now and the NFL draft that could ding his value.

I would love to be able to tier down to another RB in the 2025 class with a plus on top. I would look to target Ashton Jeanty, Devin Neal, or Jaydn Ott. Potentially TreVeyon Henderson if you can swing that in your league.
