Ja’Marr Chase unlikely to reach extension this offseason
The Cincinnati Bengals and WR Ja’Marr Chase are unlikely to come to terms on an extension this offseason, as indicated by team president Mike Brown.
Fantasy Impact
Brown said that “it’s not so likely that this is the good time to negotiate” and that “the die has probably been cast.” With the Bengals still working things out with Tee Higgins, who will play this season on the franchise tag after the deadline passed, Chase’s extension has not likely been the most urgent issue on their table. If Chase reached a deal before Higgins, that would not likely be helpful for Cincinnati’s chances of retaining both players. Chase will most likely get a league-leading (or nearly so) deal when it’s his turn, but he is still under the organization’s control for a few more seasons.

Sam Darnold to take majority of first-team reps to open training camp
Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell reiterated that Sam Darnold will take the majority of first-team snaps when camp opens for the Vikings.
Fantasy Impact
This comes as no surprise as reports all offseason have suggested that Darnold is the favorite to start Week 1 for Minnesota. O’Connell added that he does expect J.J. McCarthy to get some first-team reps as well. This will remain a training camp battle to monitor.

Jordan Love not practicing as he and Packers work on new contract
Jordan Love will not practice with the Packers in training camp until he can reach a contract extension.
Fantasy Impact
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said he’s optimistic about a deal getting done for Jordan Love and that one could get done in the next couple days. This will remain a situation to monitor this week to see if the two sides can reach a deal.
