Deebo Samuel Sr. looking slimmer to start training camp
San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel Sr. reportedly looks slimmer this offseason than in previous seasons.

Fantasy Impact

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said he thought Samuel “looked great in OTAs and minicamp … I think he looks better today [training camp].” The veteran WR relies on his post-catch talent more than other star receivers, and while being slimmer could impact his strength, it could help him be quicker and faster. Samuel has had 450+ YAC in four of his five seasons, per Pro Football Reference. The 49ers star is being drafted in half-PPR leagues with an ADP of WR14.

Colby Parkinson set to play ‘significant part’ on offense
Veteran TE Colby Parkinson, a free agent acquisition, figures to play a “significant part” in the Rams offense, says The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue.

Fantasy Impact

The offseason pickup Parkinson plays perfectly into what HC Sean McVay values offensively, which is versatility. He serves as a pass catcher and a blocker, which could help him land a significant snap count early in the season while incumbent TE Tyler Higbee continues his recovery from injury. Parkinson could play a real role in the Rams offense, though it’s also possible it’s not a fantasy-relevant one.

Quentin Johnston is reportedly off to a strong start in training camp after entering with his role being unclear.

Fantasy Impact

Based on the early reports, it would appear that Johnston will have to earn his way into an immediate starting role this season. His progress in training camp will be one to continue to monitor.
