Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Nathan Eovaldi (TEX) vs. CWS
Nathan Eovaldi's putting together a rock-solid 2024 season. According to FanGraphs, in 17 starts spanning 99.0 innings this year, he's had a 3.36 ERA, 3.98 xERA, 3.63 SIERA, 1.07 WHIP, 6.5 BB%, 23.6 K%, 29.2 CSW%, 97 Stuff+, 105 Location+ and 104 Pitching+. Eovaldi is also excellent at home. In 23 starts spanning 129.1 innings at home since last year, the veteran righty has had a 3.20 ERA, 3.60 xFIP, 0.98 WHIP, 6.5 BB% and 24.2 K%.
Eovaldi has the ideal matchup and outstanding betting info. The White Sox are 30th in wRC+ (74) with a 24.0 K% versus righties and 29th in wRC+ (78) with a 25.3 K% on the road this year. Since June 1, Chicago was 29th in wRC+ (82) with a 25.0 K%. Thus, the Rangers are -250, and the game's total is 8.0 runs.
Tanner Bibee (CLE) vs. DET
Like Eovaldi, Tanner Bibee is superb at home. In 22 career starts at home, Bibee has had a 3.02 ERA, 3.93 xFIP, 1.11 WHIP, 7.4 BB% and 25.6 K% in 122.0 innings. He's also having a stellar sophomore campaign. In 20 starts spanning 110.2 innings this year, Bibee has had a 3.58 ERA, 3.50 xERA, 3.38 SIERA, 1.11 WHIP, 6.6 BB%, 27.8 K%, 27.5 CSW%, 102 Stuff+, 104 Location+ and 106 Pitching+.
He should have another DFS-friendly start in a favorable matchup tonight. The Tigers are 20th in wRC+ (95) with a 23.9 K% versus righties and tied for 24th in wRC+ (88) with a 24.8 K% on the road this year. Detroit was also tied for 20th in wRC+ (96) with a 22.9 K% since June 1. Finally, the Guardians are -150, and the game's total is 7.5 runs.
Chayce McDermott (BAL) at MIA
Chayce McDermott has a soft matchup in his big-league debut. The Marlins are 28th in wRC+ (83) with a 23.2 K% versus righties and tied for 27th in wRC+ (87) with a 21.2 K% at home. Moreover, Miami was 30th in wRC+ (78) with a 25.5 K% since June 1.
Fortunately, McDermott might be good enough to make the most of an ideal opening matchup. In 20 appearances (19 starts) lasting 91.0 innings in Triple-A this year, McDermott has had a 3.96 ERA, 4.26 xFIP, 1.43 WHIP, 13.5 BB%, 32.3 K% and 14.6 SwStr%. The rookie's below-average control has resulted in a few messy starts and could cause a hiccup in his first start in The Show. Nevertheless, his strikeout upside is worth chasing in GPPs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
I was burned the last time I suggested stacking against Edward Cabrera. Nevertheless, he's still an ideal pitcher against whom to stack. Cabrera has had a 7.36 ERA, 5.49 xERA, 1.67 WHIP and allowed 2.45 HR/9 in eight starts this year. He's also coughed up a .338 wOBA to righties and a .442 wOBA to lefties.
Of course, the Orioles also have a powerhouse offense. Baltimore is third in wRC+ (116) versus righties and first in wRC+ (119) on the road this year. Additionally, they were third in wRC+ (127) since June 1.
The Yankees are 14th in wRC+ (103) versus lefties this year, which isn't eye-catching. Yet, they're fourth in wRC+ (119) at home, and New York was tied for seventh in wRC+ (114) since June 1. They also have a potential get-right matchup tonight. The other shoe dropped for Sean Manaea in a favorable matchup against the Marlins in his last turn. Manaea was outkicking his ERA estimators, and the Marlins started the regression process. The Yankees can continue Manaea's regression to his ERA estimators.

- J.D. Davis was New York's cleanup hitter against a lefty yesterday and would be a lineup-spot-based punt if he slots there again tonight. He's also hit 14 homers with a .322 OBP, .172 ISO and 108 wRC+ in 388 plate appearances against southpaws since 2022.

Gunnar Henderson: 8.5 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog)/More (PrizePicks)
In addition to Henderson's sparkling full-season numbers, he has a track record of succeeding against righties. Since debuting in the majors in 2022, Henderson has had a .354 OBP, .278 ISO and 154 wRC+ against righties. And, again, Cabrera has coughed up a blistering .442 wOBA to 62 lefties this year.
Anthony Santander: 6.5 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog)
Anthony Santander: 7.0 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
The switch-hitting Santander is more left-handed exposure to Cabrera. While he's white-hot, he's also not a slouch against righties. Since 2022, Santander has had a .308 OBP, .231 ISO and 119 wRC+ against righties.
Aaron Judge: 10.5 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog)
Aaron Judge: 9.5 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
Judge's exploits against lefties were highlighted in the core studs. He's also having a monstrous season at the plate. In 447 plate appearances this year, Judge has had a .439 OBP, .365 ISO, .462 wOBA, .468 xwOBA and 207 wRC+.
