Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Logan Webb (SF) vs. TOR
Logan Webb is a beast at home. According to FanGraphs, in 24 starts at home spanning 166.2 innings at home since last season, Webb has had a 2.21 ERA, 2.92 xFIP, 1.01 WHIP, 65.1 GB%, 4.1 BB%, 21.9 K% and 22 quality starts. San Francisco's ace is also in excellent form. In his previous five starts totaling 33.0 innings, he's had a 3.55 ERA, 2.96 xFIP, 3.11 SIERA, 1.24 WHIP, 5.3 BB%, 22.6 K%, 29.2 CSW%, 109 Stuff+, 104 Location+, 111 Pitching+ and four quality starts.
The righty's matchup isn't too shabby, either. The Blue Jays are tied for 14th in wRC+ (98) with a 20.3 K% versus righties and tied for 16th in wRC+ (94) with an 18.8% on the road this year. Toronto was also tied for 13th in wRC+ (107) with a 24.3 K% in the previous 14 days. Thus, the Giants are -138, and the game's total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs.
Framber Valdez (HOU) vs. MIA
Framber Valdez has been up and down lately. Nevertheless, he's sharp at home and has a get-right matchup. In 23 starts totaling 145.2 innings at home since last season, the veteran lefty has had a 3.46 ERA, 3.16 xFIP, 1.11 WHIP, 57.0 GB%, 5.8 BB%, 24.3 K% and 15 quality starts.
The Marlins are 30th in wRC+ (70) with a 21.6 K% versus lefties and 30th in wRC+ (68) with a 23.6 K% on the road this year. Miami was also 28th in wRC+ (77) with a 23.5 K% in the previous 14 days. Predictably, the Astros are -275, and the game's total is 8.0 runs.
Michael Wacha (KC) at STL
Michael Wacha's start was washed out last night. Interestingly, he could benefit from that tonight. The Cardinals are tied for ninth in wRC+ (107) with a 23.4 K% versus righties and 16th in wRC+ (103) with a 21.5 K% at home this year. However, since the Royals and Cardinals are playing a doubleheader today, Wacha might avoid some starters if the Red Birds don't opt to overtax all of their regulars by playing them in both games.
Regardless, Wacha has pitched well and can carve up St. Louis even if he faces their typical starting lineup. The 33-year-old righty has allowed precisely one run in three straight starts and allowed two or fewer in eight straight, pitching at least 5.0 innings in each turn and striking out at least five batters six times.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
- Home (Citi Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.0 Runs/NYM -205
Patrick Corbin has pitched well by his standards lately. Nevertheless, the clock should strike midnight for him tonight. The Mets are third in wRC+ (125) versus lefties and tied for 12th in wRC+ (107) at home this year. New York was also tied for sixth in wRC+ (120) in the previous 14 days. And, of course, Corbin has been dreadful this year. In 18 starts, he's had a 5.49 ERA, 6.23 xERA and 4.77 SIERA.
- Home (Oracle Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 7.5 Runs/SF -138
Chris Bassitt isn't an imposing matchup on the road. In 136.0 innings on the road since last year, he's had a 3.97 ERA, 4.32 xFIP, 1.37 WHIP and allowed 1.52 HR/9 and a .335 wOBA. The veteran righty has also outkicked his ERA estimators lately. In his previous five starts, Bassitt had a 2.48 ERA but a 4.47 xFIP and 4.71 SIERA. The Giants have affordable stacking options, and while they're not a lock to light up the scoreboard, they should be underutilized, enhancing their appeal in GPPs.

Wednesday's Top 3 Underdog and PrizePicks Player Props
Check out our best picks on the MLB Underdog Cheat Sheet
JP Sears: 16.5 Outs - Lower (Underdog)/Less (PrizePicks)
JP Sears has struggled mightily on the road. In 10 starts spanning 56.0 innings on the road this year, Sears has had a 4.82 ERA, 5.12 xFIP and 1.32 WHIP. Fenway Park won't reduce his road woes since it's one of MLB's most hitter-friendly venues. Furthermore, Sears has recorded fewer than 16.5 outs in four of his previous five starts.
Francisco Lindor: 1.5 Total Bases - Higher/More
In addition to Lindor's sterling track record against lefties, he's raking this season. In 408 plate appearances this year, he's hit 26 doubles and 16 homers with a .253 batting average, .278 xBA, .455 slugging, .510 xSLG and .202 ISO.
Lindor also has a favorable matchup. Corbin has coughed up 17 doubles, seven triples, 13 homers, a .308 batting average and .536 slugging to 342 righties this season. Finally, per Baseball Savant, Lindor has hit two doubles and three homers with a .317 batting average, .328 xBA, .585 slugging and .603 slugging in 41 career plate appearances against Corbin.
James Wood: 6.5 Fantasy Points - Higher/More
James Wood was raking in Triple-A before he was summoned to the majors. In 231 plate appearances in Triple-A, he hit 10 homers and stole 10 bases with a .463 OBP, .242 ISO and 173 wRC+. The rookie hasn't slipped up in the majors, either. In 39 plate appearances, Wood has hit one homer and stolen one base with a .385 OBP and 127 wRC+.
Wood has a decent matchup and outstanding hitting conditions. Luis Severino has allowed a .324 wOBA to 213 lefties this year. Finally, it's warm and humid with the wind will be blowing out to left tonight.
