Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Friday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Freddy Peralta (MIL) vs. MIA
Freddy Peralta is in stellar form. According to FanGraphs, in his previous four starts spanning 22.0 innings, he's had a 3.27 ERA, 3.41 SIERA, 1.14 WHIP, 7.7 BB%, 28.6 K% and 26.7 CSW%. Peralta is also sharp at home, albeit with some unfortunate luck. In 25 starts at home totaling 139.0 innings since last year, Peralta has had a 3.82 ERA, 2.96 xFIP, 1.01 WHIP, 6.2 BB% and 34.2 K%.
Milwaukee's ace has a dreamy matchup and drool-inducing betting info tonight. The Marlins are tied for 27h in wRC+ (84) with a 23.1 K% versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (72) with a 24.4 K% on the road this year. Miami was also 29th in wRC+ (80) with a 25.2 K% since June 1. Thus, the Brewers are -230, and the game's total is 8.0 runs.
Brady Singer (KC) vs. CHC
Brady Singer is rolling into tonight's start. In his previous five starts spanning 29.0 innings, he's had a 2.17 ERA, 3.21 xFIP, 3.83 SIERA, 1.24 WHIP, 7.7 BB%, 22.2 K% and 28.6 CSW%. Like Peralta, Singer has pitched well at home. In 28 starts lasting 163.2 innings at home since last year, Singer has had a 3.63 ERA, 3.85 xFIP, 1.17 WHIP, 51.7 GB%, 7.1 BB% and 21.9 K%.
Singer's matchup tonight is average to better. The Cubs are 18th in wRC+ (96) with a 24.2 K% versus righties and 14th in wRC+ (97) with a 22.8 K% on the road this season. Chicago was also 18th in wRC+ (98) with a 23.8 K% since June 1. Finally, the Royals are -150, and the game's total is 9.0 runs.
Kyle Harrison (SF) vs. COL
Kyle Harrison's ERA has outkicked his ERA estimators. Nevertheless, he's succeeded at home and has an ideal matchup tonight. In 12 career home starts spanning 63.0 innings, Harrison has had a 3.43 ERA, 4.04 xFIP, 1.22 WHIP, 6.3 BB% and 23.4 K%.
Harrison can provide significant excess value for his salary against the Rockies. Colorado is 25th in wRC+ (87) with a 25.4 K% versus lefties and 27th in wRC+ (84) with a 26.9 K% on the road this year. They were also 27th in wRC+ (89) with a 25.8 K% since June 1. Additionally, the Giants are -180, and the game's total is 8.0 runs, cementing Harrison's case for DFS usage tonight.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
- Home (Oriole Park at Camden Yards)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.0 Runs/BAL -205
The Orioles have been a mainstay in this section this week, and they have another cushy matchup tonight. In seven starts this year, Adam Mazur has had a 7.84 EA, 5.23 xERA, 5.86 SIERA, 1.84 WHIP and 1.45 HR/9. The young righty has allowed a .343 wOBA to righties and a .438 wOBA to lefties, making hitters of either handedness from the Orioles exciting selections. Additionally, Baltimore is tied for third in wRC+ (116) versus righties and seventh in wRC+ (115) at home this season.
- Home (Oracle Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.0 Runs/SF -180
The Giants have an above-average offense. San Francisco is tied for seventh in wRC+ (114) versus lefties and 13th in wRC+ (107) at home. They were also 14th in wRC+ (104) since June 1. They have explosive potential tonight against Kyle Freeland and Colorado's pitiful bullpen.
Freeland hasn't just been a victim of playing his home games at Coors Field, either. In 97.2 innings on the road since last year, Freeland has had a 6.17 ERA, 5.41 xFIP and 1.84 HR/9. The veteran lefty has allowed a .362 wOBA to lefties and a .358 wOBA to righties this year. Finally, Colorado's relievers have had the highest ERA (5.60) this year, the only bullpen ERA north of 5.00.
Core Studs
- Gunnar Henderson has let me down repeatedly this week. Nevertheless, Henderson has hit 28 homers and stolen 14 bases with a .370 OBP, .281 ISO and 163 wRC+ this year.
- Anthony Santander is rolling. In his previous 92 plate appearances, he's hit seven homers with a .326 OBP, .299 ISO and 156 wRC+.
- Heliot Ramos crushes lefties, smashing seven homers with a .380 OBP, .263 ISO and 159 wRC+ in 137 plate appearances against them since 2022.
Value Plays/Punts
- Tyler Fitzgerald is unstoppable lately. In his last 38 plate appearances, he's hit five homers and stolen two bases with a .500 OBP, .594 ISO and 304 wRC+.
- Colton Cowser has come out of the All-Star Break on fire. In 24 plate appearances in the second half, Cowser has hit two homers and stolen two bases with a .500 OBP, .400 ISO and 261 wRC+.
- In 143 plate appearances against lefties since 2022, David Villar has hit five homers with a .301 OBP, .195 ISO and 104 wRC+, which isn't too shabby for a player with the minimum salary at DK and only $100 above the minimum salary at FD.

Colton Cowser: 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs - Higher (Underdog)/More (PrizePicks)
Cowser has exceeded 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs in six consecutive games and seven of his past eight. The young lefty is also a handful for righties. In 231 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers this year, he's hit 10 homers with a .333 OBP, .229 ISO and 127 wRC+.
Lawrence Butler: 8.5 Fantasy Points- Higher (Underdog)
Lawrence Butler: 8.0 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
Lawrence Butler's white-hot bat has pushed him to the top of Oakland's lineup. In 75 plate appearances this month, Butler has hit nine homes and stolen three bases with a .467 OBP, .544 ISO and 294 wRC+. Carson Fulmer's 3.66 ERA in 26 appearances (two starts) this year has outkicked his 4.08 xERA and 4.07 SIERA. He's unlikely to pour cold water on Butler's heater.
Matt Chapman: 1.5 Total Bases - Higher/More
In 346 plate appearances against lefties since 2022, Matt Chapman has hit 27 doubles and 12 homers with a .283 batting average, .489 slugging and .205 ISO. Chapman is also in a groove.
