Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team, 2QB, PPR (2024)

1.09 (#9)

Suggested Players: CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray, Tyreek Hill

When you are in a 2QB league, you know that position will be prioritized. Of the first eight picks, seven were quarterbacks. Dak Prescott was in the MVP conversation for a while, and from Weeks 6-18, he had six finishes in the top three. He could also play for another huge contract, as he is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2025.

Pick: Dak Prescott

2.04 (#16)

Suggested Players: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Breece Hall

In PPR, you want a player in a heavy-passing offense who dominates the target share. In Joe Burrow‘s four seasons, the Bengals have passed on over 60% of their plays in three, and in the last two seasons, they have finished in the top five in pass play percentage. In Weeks 1-9 with a semi-healthy Burrow, Chase was the WR7, including a 52-point performance. The Chase/Burrow connection is a top-five combo in the league.

Pick: Ja’Marr Chase

3.09 (#33)

Suggested Players: Travis Etienne Jr., Chris Olave, Michael Pittman Jr., Sam LaPorta

All of these suggestions are worthy of your roster. Travis Etienne is the consensus that experts agree on, but there’s Sam LaPorta and his high ceiling. Etienne was highly useful in the passing game, with four or more receptions in seven games. He and Christian McCaffrey were the only two to rush for over 1,000 yards and have at least 58 catches. That’s PPR gold.

Pick: Travis Etienne

4.04 (#40)

Suggested Players: Drake London, Brandon Aiyuk, Kirk Cousins, Sam LaPorta

LaPorta is still there, but as I look further at the tight end depth, there are values I like better. The big reason why I went running back with the last pick was because I knew this particular wide receiver would still be there to add. While I like Drake London’s potential in this new offense, I’m going with someone who continually proves to be a great fantasy producer. No matter who his quarterback is, Mike Evans constantly shows that he is someone you can depend on, with 10 straight seasons of 1,000 receiving yards. In 2023, he was tied for most receiving touchdowns (13).

Pick: Mike Evans

Pick 5.09 (#57)

Suggested Players: Aaron Rodgers, Travis Kelce, DK Metcalf, DeVonta Smith

It’s almost time to grab a second quarterback, but not yet. We live in a strange world where Travis Kelce is still available this late in the draft. Kelce finished as the TE3 and led all tight ends with 14.6 points per game. He also led all tight ends with 13 red zone receptions and five touchdowns. Even with the Chiefs’ wide receiving upgrades, Patrick Mahomes still thinks of Kelce as his security blanket and should help him produce similar numbers.

Pick: Travis Kelce

Pick 6.04 (#64)

Suggested Players: Cooper Kupp, Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield, Aaron Jones

This might be the time to pick up that second quarterback. We need someone we can depend on, and of the remaining QBs, Mayfield is that. It was a breakout year in what was probably his final chance to be a starter in the NFL. He finished in the top 10 for the first time and had career-highs in passing yards, touchdowns and completion percentage. This pick also stacks him with his favorite receiver, Evans.

Pick: Baker Mayfield

Pick 7.09 (#81)

Suggested Players: George Pickens, Geno Smith, James Conner, Jaylen Warren

While George Pickens can potentially be the top receiver in the Steelers’ offense, you must look at his teammate. It’s evident that Warren is becoming the new RB1 in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are not exercising Najee Harris‘ fifth-year option, which pretty much says they are ready to move on from him. Warren was fantastic last season, and he bumped his averages when he got a heavier workload, including 5.3 yards per carry and 21.8 receiving yards per game. This being PPR, you want a back that can catch the ball, and that’s Warren, with his 61 catches being fifth amongst the position.

Pick: Jaylen Warren

Pick 8.04 (#88)

Suggested Players: Tank Dell, Geno Smith, James Conner, Javonte Williams

We’re going to see Tank Dell outplay his ADP this year. With how well Nico Collins finished last season, we forget some of the numbers Dell put up before his injury. He had three top-10 finishes last year, and although Collins had more targets overall in the nine full games they played together, it was not by much. Dell led the team in targets three times. They tied once, and Collins had one more target in two games and two more targets in just one game. With Collins going much higher, wait and take Dell.

Pick: Tank Dell

Pick 9.09 (#105)

Suggested Players: Diontae Johnson, Javonte Williams, Austin Ekeler, Bo Nix

The Panthers traded for Diontae Johnson because they needed a high-level receiver for Bryce Young after his horrible rookie year. The PPR potential gives him a high ceiling, and you can see him getting 150+ targets.

Pick: Diontae Johnson

Pick 10.04 (#112)

Suggested Players: Austin Ekeler, Bo Nix, Ezekiel Elliott, Gus Edwards

There are a lot of viable options this late in the draft. If I’m looking at someone who can finish way above his ADP, I’m going away from the list and picking Evan Engram. He finished in the top five in his last two seasons and is in a great position to get there again. He had nine or more points in 12 games, and it’s coming from someone who didn’t find the end zone until Week 13. After that, he went on a run and was the TE1 until the end of the season.

Pick: Evan Engram

Pick 11.09 (#129)

Suggested Players: Jerome Ford, Zach Charbonnet, Bo Nix, Antonio Gibson

Many feared the Browns’ run game was cooked after Nick Chubb went down, but Jerome Ford surprised. From Weeks 3-17, he was the RB20 and was 16th in yards after contact. There is no certainty Chubb will start Week 1 or at any point in the season. Even if he does return, Ford has earned a role in the offense. He is someone to stash and has RB2 upside.

Pick: Jerome Ford

Pick 12.04 (#136)

Suggested Players: Zach Charbonnet, Bo Nix, Antonio Gibson, Mike Williams

We need a backup quarterback, especially someone we can slip in when our starters are on a bye. Bo Nix is the final quarterback available who will likely start in Week 1 and for the entire season. Some believe Sean Payton reached to get Nix at No. 12, but he thinks he fits well in his offense and says there are similarities to Drew Brees, including his mentality and maturity. The rushing aspect will undoubtedly help him, and they have some solid pieces to help him through the AFC West.

Pick: Bo Nix

Pick 13.09 (#153)

Suggested Players: Tyler Allgeier, Jaleel McLaughlin, Josh Downs, Sam Darnold

It was a solid rookie season for Josh Downs, finishing with 68 catches for 771 yards, having at least three catches in 13 games and at least five in seven contests. This comes with starter Anthony Richardson playing just a few games before he was lost for the season due to a shoulder injury. Michael Pittman Jr. will be the top receiver, but Downs playing in the slot will help get the ball with a quarterback who does like to run out of the pocket and could see close to 70 catches again in this offense.

Pick: Josh Downs

Pick 14.04 (#160)

Suggested Players: Tyler Allgeier, Khalil Herbert, Roschon Johnson, Baltimore Ravens D/ST

We will go away from these suggestions and go with Rashid Shaheed. It was a solid second year for him in a volatile Saints offense, thanks to quarterback Derek Carr dealing with injuries throughout the season. Chris Olave will be the primary receiver, but Shaheed is someone to have and see if he can establish himself as the WR2. If he can return to the 8.3 points he averaged last year, that’s great for a flex spot.

Pick: Rashid Shaheed

Pick 15.09 (#177)

Suggested Players: Miles Sanders, Alexander Mattison, Baltimore Ravens D/ST, Kenneth Gainwell

The next round is usually when most take their defenses, but it’s wise to take one in the round before because you’ll get the one you want. While the Cowboys were the best fantasy defense last year, that had much to do with the six defensive touchdowns they scored. That won’t happen again. The Ravens led the league in sacks and interceptions. They were also second in fumble recoveries and had the fourth-most fumbles forced.

Pick: Baltimore D/ST

Pick 16.04 (#184)

Suggested Players: AJ Dillon, Keaton Mitchell, Kenneth Gainwell, Jacoby Brissett

We’re not going to go with these suggestions. When you see a first-round pick in the NFL Draft available in the 16th round of a fantasy draft, you snatch him. We don’t have a definitive answer about Brandon Aiyuk’s status with the 49ers, but he could be gone before the season. That will benefit Ricky Pearsall, who was drafted by the 49ers because he fits into Kyle Shanahan’s offense. He’s a quick and proficient route runner who will gain those extra years after the catch. He can grab 60 catches this season, especially if Aiyuk is gone.

Pick: Ricky Pearsall

Pick 17.09 (#201)

Suggested Players: Younghoe Koo, Evan McPherson, Matt Gay, Cameron Dicker

When choosing a kicker, it’s best to get the player whose offense will get him in a position to kick field goals and extra points. That’s Cincinnati when Burrow returns.

Pick: Evan McPherson
