6 Fantasy Football Draft Stacks to Target (2024)

Fantasy football managers are looking for exposure to scoring plays in the NFL. Quarterbacks and wide receivers who play together simultaneously produce fantasy output for a manager’s lineup when started as a pair.

Below are three tiers of quarterback and wide receiver stacks to target ahead of the 2024 season. The top, middle and value tiers represent the price managers should expect to pay in drafts to acquire these combinations of players.

Fantasy Football Draft Stacks to Target

Top Tier

Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts (QB – PHI)/A.J. Brown (WR – PHI)

Jalen Hurts cracked the top three in fantasy scoring at quarterback in each of the last two seasons and missed only two starts in that span. His 28 rushing touchdowns led all quarterbacks over those games, making him one of the top assets behind center available to fantasy managers.

A.J. Brown has finished inside the top seven at receiver in each of the last two years. He too is reliable, missing zero starts in that time and he leads the Eagles in targets with 310. Brown is undoubtedly Hurts’ favorite target.

The offensive line in Philadelphia fortifies this stack after grading first overall in pass protection for the second straight year in 2023. While there is some turnover up front, they should still allow Hurts time to throw. He was inside the top 10 in total pass attempts last season.

Detroit Lions: Jared Goff (QB – DET)/Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR – DET)

Jared Goff led the NFL in passing yardage last year with 5,411 yards. His 34 touchdowns were third overall and came on a completion percentage of 67.6%. Since 2022, Goff has finished 10th and seventh overall in fantasy scoring at quarterback. These finishes make Goff’s draft price lower than that of first-tier fantasy quarterbacks, but they will not inhibit his opportunities to produce through the air in Detroit.

Amon-Ra St. Brown finished second among all NFL receivers in targets last season with 190. He was also second in receptions and fourth in receiving touchdowns. This makes St. Brown one of the most valuable receivers in fantasy football considering his opportunity and production. He will be priced accordingly.

The Lions will take one of the best offensive lines in the league into the 2024 season. They will pair it with a passing attack that yielded 761 total dropbacks from Goff last year, second-most in the NFL.

Mid Tier

Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen (QB – BUF)/Khalil Shakir (WR – BUF)

Josh Allen set the curve at quarterback in fantasy scoring last year, but he saw his two most documented targets depart this offseason in Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Allen’s Price will be sky-high in fantasy drafts after posting 15 rushing touchdowns along with 29 scores through the air last season. The uncertainty of where his throwing volume will go this year presents fantasy managers with a chance to stack him with one of his receivers for a lower cost than normal.

Of the receivers that remain with the Bills, Khalil Shakir lead them in targets by a landslide with 56 in 2023. Shakir and Allen proved to be an efficient combo after Shakir finished with a reception rate of 87.5% and posted 14 yards per reception; the latter was second only to Gabe Davis on the team. Between competition with rookie Keon Coleman and the youth of his career, Shakir should be inexpensive taking his fantasy opportunity next season into account.

The Bills graded eighth-best in pass blocking in 2023 and have seen minimal turnover in protection ahead of this season. They should be in a good spot to protect their skill players who scored the sixth-most points in the NFL a season ago.

Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson (QB – IND)/Michael Pittman (WR – IND)

Questions on fantasy viability surround Anthony Richardson after playing in only four games during his rookie season last year. The second-year and presumptive dual-threat quarterback will be playing behind a line that graded in the top 10 in 2023. The upside with Richardson’s speed and arm strength introduces a Jalen Hurts-like ceiling to his range of outcomes.

Michael Pittman has done nothing but expand his target share in Indianapolis throughout his four NFL seasons. 2023 resulted in 109 receptions, 1,152 yards and four touchdowns. Pittman will serve as Anthony Richardson’s premier exterior target this season in an offense that will lean on their connection for its identity.

Indianapolis will return all five starters on their offensive line. Both of their tackles graded inside the top 10 at their position last season. An ideal scenario for Richardson and this offense to take off in 2024.

Value Tier

Atlanta Falcons: Kirk Cousins (QB – ATL)/Drake London (WR – ATL)

Kirk Cousins has thrown 30+ touchdowns in three of the last five seasons. All of those campaigns included yardage totals north of 4,000. He is a proven fantasy starter, but what will be his age-36 season is hard to gauge as he returns from a season-ending Achilles injury in 2023 with a new team in Atlanta. These types of concerns will drop the price on the veteran quarterback to the range of a fantasy draft that leaves capital left over to acquire one of the Falcons’ blossoming skill players.

Drake London led the Falcons in targets, receptions and receiving yardage last season. He scored only two touchdowns but was targeted by either Desmond Ridder or Taylor Heinicke. In the aggregate, these two quarterbacks threw 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions last year. Kirk Cousins should help improve that ratio and give London more legitimate looks at the end zone.

Both Cousins and London will play with an above-average offensive line that played all of last year together. The Falcons offense should be eager to make plays after finishing in the bottom third in scoring last year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield (QB – TB)/Mike Evans (WR – TB)

Baker Mayfield quietly finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in 2023. He was outscored by Patrick Mahomes by a total of 6.16 points. His 34 throwing touchdowns were third-best in the NFL last season and he operated an offense that was fifth overall in throwing volume. This level of production and opportunity assuredly exceeds what the Tampa Bay quarterback will cost in a fantasy draft ahead of this season.

Mike Evans finished as a top-10 fantasy receiver in three of the last four years. It has become normal to undervalue Evans in fantasy drafts due to coaching and quarterback turnover in Tampa Bay, but his production has not missed a beat. In 2023, we saw him score 14 touchdowns on 90 receptions, each of which averaged 16.1 yards. He has a new contract and will finish his career strong with the Bucs.

This Tampa Bay offense will lean on left tackle Tristan Wirfs up front. This offensive line graded eighth-best in pass protection in 2023.
