Live Fantasy Football Discord AMA with Pat Fitzmaurice

Pat Fitzmaurice: Hey @everyone. Live chat starting now in the Pat Fitzmaurice AMA channel. See you there!

I need some advice. I have a 10-team, half-ppr Superflex league, and we can have two keepers for a max of three years. Your keepers stay at the round he was drafted the year before unless he was a 6th round or lower. Then they get moved to 5th round. QBs score a ton of points in my league as well. Which 2 would you keep? Josh Allen in the first round, my last year to keep him, Amon-Ra St. Brown in the second round, CeeDee Lamb in 3rd round, last year to keep him, or CJ Stroud in the 5th. Thanks in advance.

Pat Fitzmaurice: I’d go with Lamb and Stroud. Allen is awesome, but he isn’t scoring 15 rushing TDs again, and his pass-catching group has been diminished. Stroud is cheaper and allows you to reset the clock at QB, so to speak. I’d prefer Lamb a round cheaper than ARSB even though you’ll lose him. But hopefully, you’ll wind up with some other really strong keeper option for next year.

Oria:  Does this trade make sense? Am I offering enough for St. Brown? 12 team SF league, and the guy only has 1 starting QB and is very, very shallow at RB.

Pat Fitzmaurice: Yeah, it’s a reasonable offer, Oria. Possible the other manager decides that without much at QB his/her team can’t contend this year and won’t want to part with Amon-Ra, but that’s a very fair offer.

Tubbybatman: If you’re drafting at 1.12, how far are you willing to reach to get your guys?

Pat Fitzmaurice: Maybe too general a question for me to adequately answer, Tubbybatman, but obviously, you have to reach a little more aggressively when you’re drafting from one of the ends. When I’m drafting on an end, I tend to be a little less inclined to reach for “my guys” and focus a little more on grabbing whatever value the room is giving me.

Chaos: 12 team, 2-QB Superflex dynasty. Should I take Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze for Patrick Mahomes? I have Mahomes and Matthew Stafford as my starters for QB, and also Gardner Minshew and Drew Lock.

Pat Fitzmaurice: If you think your team is a serious title contender, it would be hard to take that deal because it most likely sets you back for 2024. But if you’re rebuilding/retooling, yeah, I’d take the Caleb-Rome combo for Mahomes.
