The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy baseball-relevant prospect information throughout the last week all in one place. The format of this weekly fantasy baseball prospects report will be by level and we will go through players in order of their placing on my latest Top 150 prospect rankings (click here to view). I won’t be hitting every prospect every week (though I basically did this week), but will focus on the most fantasy baseball-relevant throughout the week and will follow up on other notable players post my Top 150 rankings. This article will not focus on any AAAA-type players or veterans in the minors who have outlived their prospect status.

MLB Hitters

• #38 OF Heston Kjerstad (Orioles)

• • • Season (MLB):  .314/.417/.529 | 10 BB% / 28.3 K%| 5 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
    • This Week:  4/13 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
    • Notes:  Kjerstad has been good when he gets playing time.  I would be surprised if he’s still on the team after the deadline, but that’s a good thing for his fantasy stock if he gets moved somewhere with full playing time.

• #51 2B/OF Joey Loperfido (Astros)

• • • Season:  .282/.333/.435 | 5.3 BB% / 34 K%| 8 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
    • This Week:  4/12 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
    • Notes:  Loperfido is another guy who needs more playing time.  He has not been as good as Kjerstad as the BABIP is super high and the K rate is higher, but it would be ideal for him to be a full-time player.

• OF Rece Hinds (Reds):

• • • Season (AAA):  .216/.290/.409 | 8.5 BB% / 38.4 K%| 27 XBH, 13 HR, 12 SB
    • This Week:  11/24 | 9 XBH, 5 HR, 2 SB
    • Notes: Hinds was promoted and had one of the most ridiculous weeks of the season, but the minor league stats show while he is a big time power / speed threat, the strikeout rates will limit his upside to maybe a worse Christopher Morel type profile.

MLB Pitchers

• #39 SP Drew Thorpe (White Sox): 

• • • Season:  32 2/3 IP | 3 K-BB%, 9.5 SwStr% | 3.58 ERA, 1.04 WHIP
    • This Week:  6 IP | 1 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP
    • Notes:  Thorpe is a few starts away from losing prospect status and despite some bad under the hood metrics has managed to put up a very solid line due to some incredible good luck (.158 BABIP).

• SP Yilber Diaz (Diamondbacks)

• • • Season (AAA):  22 IP | 20.9 K-BB%, 12.9 SwStr% | 3.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP
    • This Week:  12 IP | 7 Ks, 3 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.92 WHIP
    • Notes:  Diaz is not as good as the back of baseball card numbers look, just like Thorpe and has had some good luck on his side.  

AAA Hitters

• #11 3B Coby Mayo (Orioles)

• • • Season (AAA):  .302/.383/.608 | 10.7 BB% / 24.1 K%| 38 XBH, 19 HR, 3 SB
    • This Week:  6/19 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
    • Notes:  Mayo is going to be up in a few weeks once the Orioles can clear some of the chairs off the deck.

• #73 2B/3B Jace Jung (Tigers)

• • • Season:  .268/.391/.508 | 16.5 BB% / 23.1 K%| 32 XBH, 13 HR, 1 SB
    • This Week:  4/16 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB (4 games)
    • Notes:  I compare Jung to Nolan Gorman and he’s striking out a little too much like Gorman right now as well.  He just came back from injury and hasn’t missed a beat power-wise.

• #75 OF Colby Thomas (Athletics): 

• • • Season (AAA):  .309/.398/.543 | 7.5 BB% / 25.8 K%| 11 XBH, 4 HR, 2 SB (21 games)
    • This Week:  7/15 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB (4 games)
    • Notes:  Thomas has all fields power and does a great job of shooting the ball through the gaps and has an over 35% line drive rate this year.  He has an open stance with hands up, loaded pre-pitch.

• #120. OF Deyvison De Los Santos (Diamondbacks)

• • • Season (AAA):  .297/.340/.611 | 5.3 BB% / 23.9 K%| 28 XBH, 13 HR, 0 SB
    • This Week:  4/13 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB (3 games)
    • Notes:  De Los Santos barely played this week, but made the ABs count when he did play.  He finishes the first half with 27 bombs between AA and AAA.

• C Drake Baldwin (Braves)

• • • Season (AAA):  .309/.440/.532 | 19 BB% / 12.9 K%| 9 XBH, 6 HR, 0 SB
    • This Week:  5/15 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
    • Notes:  Welsh and I were joking about why he even made the Minor League All Star roster, but then he had a huge game going 1 for 2 with a 2 run homer.

AAA Pitchers

• #47 SP Max Meyer (Marlins): 

• • • Season (MLB):  17 IP | 16.9 K-BB%, 14.2% SwStr% | 3.65 SIERA
    • This Week:  6 IP | 4 Ks, 0 BBs, | 1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
    • Notes:  Meyer was demoted to preserve his innings and lessen his workload, but he’s been down there for about 50 innings at this point and I don’t really understand the benefit as he’s 25-years-old.

• SP River Ryan (Dodgers)

• • • Season:  16 1/3 IP | 19.7 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr% | 2.76 ERA, 1.16 WHIP
    • This Week:  5 IP | 6 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
    • Notes:  I would expect River Ryan to be up after the break.  He’s better than guys like Knack and should get some good run once the team feels he’s built up enough.

AA Hitters

• #19 OF Roman Anthony (Red Sox):

    • Notes:  Anthony didn’t play much this week because he was preparing for the skills competition, which he won by dominating the home run derby portion.

• #68 3B Brock Wilken (Brewers): 

• • • Season:  .233/.322/.428 | 11.1 BB% / 25.9 K%| 22 XBH, 12 HR, 1 SB
    • This Week:  7/22 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
    • Notes:  Wilken is starting to come around after dealing with a broken face earlier in the season.

• #96 OF Kevin Alcantara (Cubs)

• • • Season:  .273/.328/.406 | 7.4 BB% / 26.2 K%| 19 XBH, 7 HR, 6 SB
    • This Week:  9/21 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
    • Notes:  Alcantara had a nice week, though not amazing.  I would expect him to be called up to AAA soon.

• #140 1B/OF Ryan Clifford (Mets)

• • • Season:  .238/.380/.544 | 17.4 BB% / 27.9 K%| 25 XBH, 12 HR, 1 SB
    • This Week:  6/17 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB (4 games)
    • Notes:  Clifford’s bat has played significantly better at AA than high A, but the drawback is he still has not shown to have a good batting average or K rate.  His best case would be to be maybe a worse Pete Alonso or Cristian Encarnacion Strand.

• 2B Kristian Campbell (Red Sox)

• • • Season (AA):  .404/.507/.623 | 13.8 BB% / 18.8 K%| 16 XBH, 4 HR, 7 SB (31 games)
    • This Week:  7/18 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
    • Notes:  Campbell is making AA look like a joke, Marcelo Mayer mentioned on Baseball America they call him Barry Bonds on his team.

• 2B Luke Keaschall (Twins)

• • • Season (AA):  .318/.418/.468 | 12 BB% / 20.1 K%| 14 XBH, 4 HR, 5 SB
    • This Week:  8/13 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
    • Notes:  I’ve been waiting for a big week like this to put Keaschall on the list.  He’s had a strong season to date and has been fairly consistent week in and week out.

• 1B / OF C.J. Kayfus (Guardians)

• • • Season (AA):  .308/.431/.652 | 14.6 BB% / 25.7 K%| 16 XBH, 8 HR, 0 SB (31 games)
    • This Week:  6/22 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
    • Notes:  Kayfus is getting OF reps to see if he can play a corner spot, since 1B is pretty clogged up in this organization by Naylor, Manzardo, etc.

AA Pitchers

• #6 SP Jackson Jobe (Tigers): 

• • • Season:  26 ⅔ IP | 24.5 K-BB%, 15.1 SwStr% | 1.69 ERA, 0.98 WHIP
    • This Week:  5 IP | 8 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
    • Notes:  Jobe had another strong start and it’s good to see him healthy entering the second half.

• #37 SP Robby Snelling (Padres): 

• • • Season:  70 1/3 IP | 10.4 K-BB%, 11.3 SwStr% | 6.14 ERA, 1.64 WHIP
    • This Week:  4 1/3 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 6.23 ERA, 1.62 WHIP
    • Notes:  Snelling had a strong K-BB rate in this game despite getting hit up.  After a killer 2023, this year has been very disappointing season.

• #49 SP Jacob Misiorowski (Padres): 

• • • Season:  72 2/3 IP | 18.3K-BB%, 14.5 SwStr% | 3.10 ERA, 1.22 WHIP
    • This Week:  6 IP | 10 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP
    • Notes:  Misiorowski has gone seven straight starts without allowing more than two walks, he’s really on it right now.

• SP Samuel Aldegheri (Phillies): 

• • • Season (A+):  68 IP | 24.4 K-BB%, 15.4 SwStr% | 3.18 ERA, 1.06 WHIP
    • This Week:  5 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
    • Notes:  Aldegheri was finally promoted to AA and did not disappoint in his first start at the level with a 22.6 SwStr%.

• SP Thomas Harringon (Pirates)

• • • Season:  56 2/3 IP | 22.6 K-BB%, 13 SwStr% | 2.54 ERA, 1.04 WHIP
    • This Week:  7 IP | 11 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
    • Notes: Harrington has been a man on fire over the last month.  The former 36th overall pick in 2022 had a solid 2023 season, but is really pushing toward being a lock as a major leaguer.  The Pirates have a fun future with Chandler and Barco still to join Skenes and Jones in the next year or so.

A+ Hitters

• #92 C Carter Jensen (Royals)

• • • Season:  .270/.384/.436 | 15.1 BB% / 21.8 K%| 28 XBH, 10 HR, 16 SB
    • This Week:  5/20 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
    • Notes:  Jensen is a beast of an athlete for a catcher.  The Royals are the masters at developing stud catchers it would seem.  He has some solid pull power while also showing the ability to hit the ball the other way, which should keep him from getting shifted to death.  He’s a line drive hitter rather than a fly ball hitter, so he should run some higher BABIPs like he is right now, but is probably more like a .250 batting average guy.  He has some fantastic plate skills and is great on the basepaths.

• #131 2B Carlos Jorge (Reds): 

• • • Season:  .211/.268/.381 | 5.7 BB% / 34.3 K%| 26 XBH, 10 HR, 21 SB
    • This Week:  6/18 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
    • Notes:  There’s a little Rece Hinds in this batting profile, though I think there’s more Jazz in this bat.  He had a nice week and has nice power / speed numbers despite the terrible plate skills, which I noted in my live looks last year.

• 2B / 3B Jack Brannigan (Pirates)

• • • Season:  .218/.337/.440 | 12.6 BB% / 25.9 K%| 27 XBH, 14 HR, 11 SB
    • This Week:  6/21 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
    • Notes:  Brannigan has had a terrible repeat season in high A, but did have a nice week.

A+ Pitchers

• #69 SP Chase Dollander (Rockies): 

• • • Season:  70 IP | 27.7 K-BB%, 18.4 SwStr% | 2.83 ERA, 1.26 WHIP
    • This Week:  3 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP
    • Notes:  Dollander notched a K for every out this week.  This dude should be in AA.

• SP Jonah Tong (Mets): 

• • • Season (A+):  53 2/3 IP | 20.8 K-BB%, 13.8 SwStr% | 2.85 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
    • This Week:  6 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
    • Notes: Tong had another very good start and is really pushing for a promotion to AA before the end of the season.

• SP Matt Wilkinson (Guardians): 

• • • Season (A+):  36 1/3 IP | 26.5 K-BB%, 15.1 SwStr% | 2.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
    • This Week:  5 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
    • Notes: Tug Boat Wilkinson keeps on rolling and is proving you don’t need velo to kill it in the lower minors.  I’m curious to see how he performs at higher levels.

• SP Jackson Ferris (Dodgers)

• • • Season:  77 1/3 IP | 20.3 K-BB%, 11.6 SwStr% | 4.19 ERA, 1.27 WHIP
    • This Week:  6 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
    • Notes:  Ferris was traded in the Michael Busch deal with Hope, so of course he’s playing well.  He’s a big lefty at 20-years-old and former second rounder.  Gotta love Dodgers pitching prospects.

• SP Owen Wild (Rays)

• • • Season (A+):  49 IP | 23.4 K-BB%, 17.3 SwStr% | 2.76 ERA, 1.06 WHIP
    • This Week:  7 IP | 9 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 0.71 WHIP
    • Notes:  Wild has kind of come out of nowhere, but he’s been excellent all season and like Thomas White has been even better at high A than low A.

• SP Alejandro Rosario (Rangers): 

• • • Season (A):  47 IP | 34.2 K-BB%, 17 SwStr% | 2.11 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
    • This Week:  4 2/3 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.93 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
    • Notes: Rosario has been just as good, if not better on a K rate basis since being promoted to high A, but has struggled with command a little at high A.

• SP K.C. Hunt (Brewers) A+

• • • Season (A+):  40 1/3 IP | 31 K-BB%, 19.1 SwStr%, 34.1 CSW% | 2.45 ERA, 0.94 WHIP

    • Notes:  Hunt is rolling on this list for the second week in a row.  He’s an absolute stud and needs to be in AA.

A Hitters

    • Notes:  Nimala had a tough start to the season, but since returning the last few weeks has been much better.

• SS Sammy Stafura (Reds)

    • This Week:  5/16 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
    • Notes:  Stafura was the Reds second round pick last year and has been playing like a future leadoff type.
