Fantasy Baseball Closer Report: Kenley Jansen, David Bednar, Paul Sewald (2024)

Welcome back to the latest edition of the “Closer Report.” This is the last chart before the All-Star break. Once MLB returns from the break, it’ll be less than two weeks until the MLB trade deadline when we should see a handful of relievers moved. We should see rumors and even actual trades start to heat up at that point.

Below is a look at the chart for this week.

News & Notes

David Bednar was activated from the injured list on Friday. He recorded the save in his first game back. Aroldis Chapman should return to his set-up role as a result.

Ryan Helsley continues to pace the MLB with 31 saves, followed by Emmanuel Clase with 28 saves and Kyle Finnegan with 24 saves.

Josh Hader has been busy as of late, recording four saves over the past seven days. Clase, Edwin Diaz and Kirby Yates have all recorded three saves in the past week.

Paul Sewald ran into some trouble as he blew three straight saves, but he has since recorded back-to-back saves for the Diamondbacks.

Yimi Garcia had his last rehab appearance pushed back to Thursday due to stiffness in his neck. He should see some save opportunities when he is healthy.
