Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (6/6)
Luka Doncic (G/F – DAL): 24.5 points (alt line)
Luka hitting at least 25 points has occurred in seven straight games, making this alt line a value despite the decreased multiplier. Luka will see the volume to hit this number even if he has a bad shooting night. It will likely take something directly affecting his minute count for him to score 24 or fewer in what should prove to be a decisive Game 1 battle. Doncic has poured in at least 28 points in seven consecutive contests dating back to the Western Conference semifinals. Light up the More on Luka for Game 1.
Pick: More
Kyrie Irving (G – DAL): 19.5 points (alt line)
Kyrie should come out aggressive on this one and may once again look to set the tone for the Mavericks early before handing it over to Luka to do his work until the two pair in the mid to late fourth quarter. Kyrie has scored 20 or more points in five out of his last six games and will probably be closer to 30 than 20 in tonight’s contest if he has his way. Much like with Luka, Kyrie is guaranteed all the volume he desires, but since he will be in pass first and defer mode much of the game, the alt line is a safer play than the full total, at least for the two games in Boston as it will give us a chance to gauge how aggressive he will be in this series. Dap the More on Kyrie for Game 1.
Pick: More
Derrick White (G – BOS): 9.5 points (alt line)
White at just 9.5 points on the alt line seems like one of the best values on the board. He is no longer an X-factor for the Celtics but is a solid contributor who can star in his role when called upon. Hitting double figures is an extremely high probability proposition for someone seeing 30+ minutes a night, and while he may not hit 38 again in his career, he has hit double figures in 13 of his 14 playoff games and has dropped 13 or more in five straight. The full total is an easy fade, but work with the More on this White alt line for Game 1.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
