- Deebo Samuel (WR – SF): Erikson identifies Deebo Samuel as another early-round bust. While Samuel’s physical playstyle leads to impressive yards after the catch, it also results in frequent injuries. Erikson notes that Samuel scored the second-most fantasy points above expectation last year, which might not be sustainable. He also mentions potential changes in the 49ers’ offense and Samuel’s future, suggesting his WR15 ranking is too optimistic. Jagger agrees, highlighting Samuel’s dependency on the 49ers’ system and the uncertainties surrounding his role.
- Davante Adams (WR – LV): Jagger cautions against drafting Davante Adams despite his stellar reputation. Adams’ fantasy points per game have declined since leaving the Packers, and the Raiders’ uncertain quarterback situation exacerbates concerns. Ranked as WR12, Erikson acknowledges Adams’ floor due to his high target volume but questions his upside with potential inconsistencies in the Raiders’ offense. Both experts suggest considering Adams’ age and the team’s dynamics before drafting him as a top receiver.
