Devin Singletary: Brian Daboll ‘encouraged’ by Giants RB group
Giants coach Brian Daboll said he is “encouraged” by the Giants running back group.

Daboll said Singletary has shown good leadership traits and knows the system. He also added that Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been picking things up quickly, while Eric Gray was getting run with the first-team in practice last week.

Justin Fields takes reps with first string Thursday
Justin Fields took some reps with the first-string offense on the last day of voluntary OTAs on Thursday.

Fields was already announced as the backup quarterback behind fellow new teammate Russell Wilson, but it looks like he’s already creeping into the first-string rotation. Whether this move is merit-based or the Steelers are just giving Fields some first-string experience, it is worth monitoring as offseason workouts progress.

Malik Nabers showed out with a number of big plays at Giants OTAs on Thursday.

Nabers caught two deep touchdowns from Drew Lock, including a “leaping, highlight-reel catch on a Lock improv rollout” over the top of the safeties. He also reportedly made a big catch on a Daniel Jones throw way out in front of him. Nabers remains on track to have a chance to be the clear top receiver for the Giants this season.

Kyler Murray ‘locked in’ after late start in 2023
Kyler Murray is reportedly “locked in” after a late start in the 2023 season.

Murray said he can “already see the differences being in the second year of a new system.” He didn’t return until Week 10 last season after recovering from a torn ACL. He was sidelined last offseason as he focused on his rehab. “Me being out there, everybody being in the system a whole ‘nother year, you can tell the difference out there,” Murray said. “Everybody’s playing faster, more comfortable. The rookies that we had last year, a great group, it allowed them to play faster because they’ve been in it. Got a lot of reps, got a lot of meaningful reps last year, and then the rookies that we just added are a good group so far too, so I’m excited.”
