Gavin Stone (LAD) at CWS
Gavin Stone is in excellent form entering tonight's start. In his previous five starts spanning 30.0 innings, he's had a 2.10 ERA, 3.70 xFIP, 3.68 SIERA, 1.03 WHIP, 6.7 BB%, 24.2 K%, 29.7 CSW%, 98 Stuff+, 106 Location+ and 105 Pitching+.
Stone should stay hot in a Charmin-soft matchup. The White Sox are 30th in wRC+ (75) with a 23.6 K% versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (74) with a 22.5 K% at home. Chicago was also 28th in wRC+ (71) with a 24.1 K% in the previous 14 days. Finally, the Dodgers are -200, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.
Kutter Crawford (BOS) vs. TOR
Kutter Crawford has been relatively unlucky lately. In his last five starts totaling 30.1 innings, he's had a 5.04 ERA. Still, Crawford also had a 3.80 xFIP, 3.36 SIERA, 1.02 WHIP, 6.5 BB%, 27.4 K%, 29.9 CSW%, 107 Stuff+, 108 Location+ and 110 Pitching+. Crawford's underlying data was superb.
Crawford has an average matchup, challenging park factors and mixed betting info. The Blue Jays are tied for 13th in wRC+ (100) with a 19.6 K% versus righties and tied for 14th in wRC+ (95) with an 18.2 K% on the road this year. Toronto was 19th in wRC+ (100) with a 21.4 K% in the previous 14 days. The Red Sox are -155, but the game's total is a discouraging 9.5 runs. Overall, Crawford's pitching profile is intriguing on a pitching-poor slate.
