Friday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Logan Gilbert (SEA) vs. MIN
Logan Gilbert is in a groove going into tonight's start. According to FanGraphs, in his previous five starts spanning 35.2 innings, he's had a 2.02 ERA, 3.13 xFIP, 3.09 SIERA, 0.76 WHIP, 1.5 BB%, 25.2 K%, 31.6 CSW%, 113 Stuff+, 107 Location+ and 108 Pitching+. Gilbert has pitched precisely eight scoreless innings in back-to-back starts and twirled four straight quality starts.
Gilbert's matchup is challenging. The Twins are ninth in wRC+ (107) with a 21.8 K% versus righties and tied for seventh in wRC+ (105) with a 21.5 K% on the road this year. They were also second in wRC+ (154) with a 15.9 K% in the previous 14 days. Still, Gilbert can tie up any offense and has been untouchable lately. As a result, the Mariners are -130, and the game's total is 7.0 runs.
Logan Webb (SF) vs. LAD
Logan Webb's underlying data has been excellent lately, flying in contrast to his 4.09 ERA in his last five starts. However, Webb's dominance at home is the primary motivation to roll the dice on him against LA's talented offense. In 159.2 innings at home since last year, Webb has had a 2.20 ERA, 2.91 xFIP, 1.00 WHIP, 3.8 BB%, 21.9 K% and 64.4 GB%.
The Dodgers are fourth in wRC+ (117) with a 22.0 K% versus righties and second in wRC+ (120) with a 21.4 K% on the road this year. Yet, they're slightly less potent without Mookie Betts. The betting info isn't too shabby for Webb, either. The Giants are -106, but the game's total is just 7.5 runs. Thus, Webb is an intriguing GPP pick.
Drew Thorpe (CWS) vs. COL
Drew Thorpe was excellent in his stay at the Double-A level. In 16 Double-A starts totaling 90.1 innings, he had a 1.39 ERA, 2.72 FIP, 0.80 WHIP, 6.6 BB% and 29.9 K%. Thorpe has made three starts for the White Sox, sandwiching a pair of useful turns around a disaster. He held the Mariners to two runs (one earned) on three hits, two walks and four strikeouts in five innings in his big-league debut and didn't allow a run to the Tigers on two hits, four walks and five strikeouts in six innings in his most recent start.
Thorpe should have another DFS-friendly start in a cushy matchup. The Rockies are 29th in wRC+ (80) with a 25.7 K% versus righties and 27th in wRC+ (83) with a 25.9 K% on the road this season. Finally, the White Sox are -115, and the game's total is 8.5 runs. Thorpe is the ideal SP2 in all game types at DK and a viable GPP pick at FD.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
The Braves are in a blow-up spot tonight. In 11 starts this year, Martin Perez has a 4.71 ERA, 5.70 xERA and 4.48 SIERA. In addition, he's making his first start in the majors in over a month, returning from the Injured List (IL). The Pirates also have a pathetic bullpen. Pittsburgh's relievers have the third-highest ERA (4.76) this year. So, the Braves can feast all game.
- Home (Fenway Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.5 Runs/BOS -155
The Red Sox have an above-average offense. Boston is 12th in wRC+ (103) versus righties and 24th in wRC+ (94) at home this year. Yet, the Red Sox are 14th in wOBA (.318) at home. They were also sixth in wRC+ (128) in the previous 14 days.
The Red Sox should keep rolling in a soft matchup. In Randy Vasquez's last five starts, he's had a 4.50 ERA, 4.63 xFIP and 4.75 SIERA. Moreover, he's allowed a .325 wOBA to 127 righties and a .533 wOBA to 86 lefties this year.
Core Studs
- In 308 plate appearances against lefties since 2022, Ozzie Albies has hit 11 homers with a .347 OBP, .209 ISO and 141 wRC+.
- Rafael Devers has launched 16 homers with a .367 OBP, .272 ISO and 148 wRC+ in 297 plate appearances this year.
- In 248 career plate appearances against righties, Wilyer Abreu has hit eight homers with a .367 OBP, .217 ISO and 140 wRC+.
Value Plays/Punts
- Rookie Daniel Schneemann has hit two homers with a .361 OBP, .231 ISO and 143 wRC+ in his first 61 plate appearances in The Show.
- In 288 plate appearances against lefties since 2022, Sean Murphy has hit 12 homers with a .365 OBP, .222 ISO and 136 wRC+.
- Dominic Smith is punt exposure to Vasquez. Fortunately, in his previous 99 plate appearances, he's hit three homers with a .364 OBP, .146 ISO and 113 wRC+. The rest of his splits are unfavorable, but Vasquez's inability to quiet left-handed hitters is a good enough reason to use Smith.

Rafael Devers: 8.5 fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog)
Rafael Devers: 7.5 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
In addition to Devers's sparkling numbers at the plate this year, he's dominated righties. Since 2022, Devers has had a .370 OBP, .260 ISO and 145 wRC+ against right-handed pitching.
Wilyer Abreu: 0.5 Runs - Higher/More
Wilyer's .367 OBP against righties since reaching the majors last year will serve him well for scoring a run. Furthermore, Fenway Park has the second-highest park factor for runs (1.170), and Vasquez has coughed up at least three runs in seven of 10 starts.
Ozzie Albies: 1.5 Total Bases - Higher/More
The switch-hitting Albies has muscled up against lefties, doesn't work walks and strikes out at a low rate, a tantalizing combination for his over for 1.5 total bases. In 309 plate appearances against southpaws since 2022, Albies has had a 1.9 BB%, 12.9 K%, .332 batting average, .540 slugging, .208 ISO, 27 doubles, one triple and 11 homers. Finally, Perez has yielded 13 doubles, six homers, a .302 batting average and .475 slugging to 198 right-handed batters.
