Saturday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
PLAYER | DK SALARY | FD SALARY | VALUE | RISK |
Tyler Glasnow (LAD) vs. LAA | $11,800 | $11,500 | Low | Low |
Logan Gilbert (SEA) at MIA | $9,200 | $10,600 | Low | Low |
Zach Eflin (TB) at PIT | $6,800 | $7,800 | High | Medium |
Bailey Ober (MIN) at OAK | $8,400 | $9,400 | Medium | High |
Tyler Glasnow (LAD) vs. LAA
Glasnow is one of the frontrunners for NL Cy Young, and he will win that award as long as he stays healthy. The Dodgers ace has a 3.00 ERA and 0.91 WHIP, recording 125 strikeouts across 93 innings. That’s led to Glasnow scoring at least 39 FanDuel points in 11 of 15 starts, posting an absurd 13.2 K/9 rate across his last four fixtures. We also love that he has a home matchup with the Angels, ranked 17th in K rate, 21st in runs scored, and 23rd in OBP. That should have Glasnow entering this matchup as a -250 favorite!
Logan Gilbert (SEA) at MIA
Logan had one nightmarish outing against Minnesota earlier in the year but has been unstoppable outside of that. The righty has allowed four runs or fewer in all 14 of those starts, tallying a 2.29 ERA and 0.84 WHIP. That form should be easy to duplicate against Miami, with the Marlins ranked 29th in OBP, runs scored, and wOBA.
Zach Eflin (TB) at PIT
Eflin has been a different pitcher since signing with Tampa last season, totaling a 3.68 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. A slow start derailed his numbers, but Eflin has a 3.45 ERA and 1.13 WHIP since his third start of the year. That should bode well against a pitiful Pittsburgh lineup, with the Pirates ranked 22nd in runs scored, 26th in OBP, 28th in K rate, and 27th in wOBA.
Bailey Ober (MIN) at OAK
Ober had two disastrous outings against the Kansas City Royals but has been reliable outside of that. If you remove those two stinkers, Ober has a 3.37 ERA and 1.02 WHIP across his other 12 starts. That’s on par with the 3.37 ERA and 1.06 WHIP we’ve seen over the last two years, and we’re not worried about a matchup with Oakland. The A’s rank bottom three in runs scored, OBP, OPS, K rate, and wOBA since the start of last year. We also don’t mind that Ober is a -180 favorite!
MLB DFS Picks: Suggested Lineup Stacks
Philadelphia Phillies (vs. Tommy Henry)
- Home (Citizens Bank Ballpark)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9 Runs/PHI -250
We would use Philly against any pitcher at CBB, but they will annihilate Henry. The Arizona lefty has a 6.23 ERA and 1.70 WHIP. That’s terrifying since the Phillies rank third in OBP and fourth in runs scored, projected to score nearly six runs in this magical matchup.
Washington Nationals (vs. Cal Quantrill)
- Road (Coors Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 11 Runs/WAS -115
We have been recommending road teams in Coors Field for years, and it’s easy to see why. They’re typically the highest-projected offense on every slate because Coors is the most hitter-friendly park in baseball. The Rockies also rank last in ERA and WHIP, with the Nats projected to score six runs in this game. They had 11 on Friday, and should keep smashing all weekend!
MLB DFS Picks: Core Studs
POS | PLAYER | DK SALARY | FD SALARY |
3B | Rafael Devers (BOS) | $5,500 | $3,800 |
3B | Alec Bohm (PHI) | $5,600 | $3,200 |
DH | Shohei Ohtani (LAD) | $6,500 | $4,800 |
OF | Christian Yelich (MIL) | $5,800 | $4,000 |
- Devers has some fantastic matchups this weekend, and he should add to his All-Star campaign. The third baseman has a .378 OBP and .965 OPS over his last 50 games while posting much better splits against righties. That’s rough for Frankie Montas, with the Reds righty registering a 4.62 ERA and 1.39 WHIP.
- Anytime we stack the Phillies against a lefty, we have to use Bohm. This third baseman is having a breakout season for the Phils, posting a .306 AVG and .840 OPS. He’s also got a .352 OBP and .886 OPS against lefties over the last three years while totaling a .536 OBP and 1.266 OPS over the last week!
- Shohei is the best all-around player in baseball, ranked third in points per game. That’s scary when evaluating his recent form, accruing a 1.717 OPS across his last four fixtures! It sounds like Ohtani will face Zach Plesac, who has posted a 6.91 ERA and 1.76 WHIP since the start of last season!
- Yelich should be one of the top NL MVP candidates. The Brewers outfielder has a .402 OBP and .910 OPS while collecting seven homers and 15 steals. That guy was an MVP player in 2018-19, and we’re not concerned since he has the platoon advantage against Randy Vasquez‘s 5.70 ERA and 1.69 WHIP.
MLB DFS Picks: Value Plays/Punts
POS | PLAYER | DK SALARY | FD SALARY |
SS | Carlos Correa (MIN) | $4,500 | $3,700 |
OF | Nick Castellanos (PHI) | $4,200 | $2,700 |
SS | Ezequiel Tovar (COL) | $5,300 | $3,700 |
OF | Jesse Winker (WAS) | $4,500 | $3,600 |
- Correa is one of the hottest hitters in the league right now. The shortstop has a .482 AVG and 1.248 OPS across his last 13 fixtures. That’s the best stretch of this All-Stars career, and we also love that he has a .371 OBP and .882 OPS against lefties since 2021.
- Castellanos is one of the few cheap Phillies we can recommend, with the veteran slowly turning his season around. The outfielder has a .782 OPS across his last 27 outings while posting sensational splits against southpaws. In fact, Casty has a .879 OPS against them since the start of last season while posting similar splits at home.
- The Rockies don’t have much to look forward to, but Tovar looks like a stud in the making. After a slow start, the shortstop has a .793 OPS over his last 63 games. He’s also got a .889 OPS over his last 40 games and should thrive at Coors Field throughout his career. He also gets the platoon advantage against a lefty and is the best option in one of the highest-projected lineups out there!
- We couldn’t overlook Winker if we’re going to stack the Nats. He’s developed into their everyday three-hole hitter, flirting with a .400 OBP in this newfound role. He’s also added seven homers and 11 steals to his resume’ while generating a .399 OBP and .854 OPS against right-handers.
Xxday’s Top 3 Underdog Fantasy and PrizePicks Player Props
Drew Thorpe: 3.5 Strikeouts – Higher
This rookie was rocked in his last start, but he had a 2.17 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 30 percent K rate in the minors. Getting four strikeouts with that sort of stuff should be easy against Detroit, ranked 27th in OBP and 23rd in K rate.
Zach Eflin: 17.5 Outs Recorded – Higher
Since Pittsburgh is one of the worst offenses in baseball, Eflin shouldn’t have any issues finishing six innings. He’s thrown at least 5.2 innings in 10 of 13 starts and threw at least five innings in 27 of 31 starts last season.
Carlos Correa: 1.5 Total Bases- Higher
We would be happy with Correa’s prop against anyone, but he’s facing a subpar southpaw here. Correa has cleared 1.5 total bases in nine of his last 14 games and is flirting with a .400 OBP against lefties!
