Hey friends, welcome to my weekly prospect report at FantasyPros! The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy baseball-relevant prospect information throughout the last week all in one place. The format of this weekly fantasy baseball prospects report will be by level and we will go through players in order of their placing on my latest Top 150 prospect rankings (click here to view). I won’t be hitting every prospect every week (though I basically did this week), but will focus on the most relevant throughout the week and will follow up on other notable players post my Top 150 rankings. This article will not focus on any AAAA-type players or veterans in the minors who have outlived their prospect status.

- Notes: Brown is rolling as probably the Cubs third best starter since coming up.

  - Notes: Saggesse has turned it up this week, I didn’t think he had the wheels in him and it might be a coincidence, but he will need to cut down the K rate to get a call up and the Cardinals might have to clear some room via trade.

  - Notes: Acuna could potentially beat Gilbert up thanks to the Mauricio injury, but there’s a good chance the Mets hold many of these guys down in the minors until September. I do think Acuna is overrated a bit due to the name and is being bumped up above his level.

  - Notes: Whisenhunt had one good start (7 Ks, 1 BB in 5 IP) then one bad start this week. Classic PCL.

#47 SP Max Meyer (Marlins):

- - Season (AAA): 23 2/3 IP (7 starts) | 20.4 K-BB%, 11.4% SwStr% | 6.85 ERA, 1.61 WHIP
  - This Week: 4 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BB | 6.75 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  - Notes: Meyer has been pretty solid while only averaging 3-4 innings per start since going down and is at about 40 innings on the season at this point in time.

  - Notes: Mazur had one great start (despite giving up two homers… 8 Ks, 0 BBs) and one bad start this week. He’s in the PCL, this will happen.

#56 SP Blade Tidwell (Mets)

  - Season (AAA): 11 ⅔ IP | -6.2 K-BB%, 9.1 SwStr% | 1.54 ERA, 1.29 WHIP

  - Notes: Another fast rising college pick from the Mets is following in the Christian Scott footsteps. Former 2nd rounder, big strong dude just blowing guys away high in the zone with his fastball this year, fastball gets up to 99 MPH. Improved command this year and might have been a first rounder had he been healthy before the draft. Mostly fastball / power slider and it’s pretty easy to see here with the doubling of his walk rate how the robo ump is messing with him.

#66 SP Cade Povich (Orioles)

- - Season: 16 1/3 IP | 33.3 K-BB%, 13.9 SwStr% | 1.10 ERA, 0.55 WHIP
  - This Week: 5 1/3 IP | 9 Ks, 4 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.31 WHIP
  - Notes: Povich has had some really good luck to start the 2024 season. He’s definitely better than last year, but not this much better.

SP Carlos F. Rodriguez (Brewers)

- - Season: 57 1/3 IP | 12.8 K-BB%, 11 SwStr% | 5.49 ERA, 1.36 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 2/3 IP | 4 Ks, 2 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 1.05 WHIP
  - Notes: Rodriguez won’t be a super star, but could be an effective back end starter for the Brewers. He had a decent start this week for the first time all season.

Cristian Mena (Diamondbacks)

- - Season: 56 IP | 13.3 K-BB%, 12.8 SwStr% | 3.70 ERA, 1.39 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 IP | 5 Ks, 2 BBs | 6.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
  - Notes: Mena is still young for the level and could reach for some more upside, but right now he’s looking like a potential back end starter.

SP Richard Fitts (Red Sox):

- - Season: 48 1/3 IP | 12.9 K-BB%, 11.7 SwStr% | 3.72 ERA, 1.22 WHIP
  - This Week: 7 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.14 WHIP (1 hit)
  - Notes: Fitts is a guy who could be up soon with all the injuries to the Red Sox rotation. He’s a solid back end starter, but doesn’t appear to be anything special for fantasy.

SP Sem Roberese (Cardinals)

- - Season: 66 1/3 IP | 17.4 K-BB%, 12.8 SwStr% | 3.53 ERA, 1.09 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 IP | 6 Ks, 0 BBs | 6.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
  - Notes: Roberese gave up three homers, but had some nice K-BB numbers.

SP Chayce McDermott (Orioles)

- - Season: 47 IP | 21.1 K-BB%, 14.6 SwStr% | 4.02 ERA, 1.55 WHIP
  - This Week: 4 IP | 8 Ks, 3 BBs | 6.75 ERA, 2.50 WHIP
  - Notes: McDermott is a high stuff, bad command guy and we are seeing it this year. He has three plus pitches so we can only hope he gets the control in check to be a starter.

SP DJ Herz (Nationals)

- - Season: 36 IP | 8.5 K-BB%, 12 SwStr% | 3.75 ERA, 1.42 WHIP
  - This Week: 5 1/3 IP | 10 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.69 ERA, 0.56 WHIP
  - Notes: Herz had his best start of the season as he’s ramping up for a call up near the tail end of the season.

AA Hitters

#7 OF Jasson Dominguez (Yankees):

- - Season (AA – 9 games): .333/.368/.667 | 5.3 BB%, 23.7 K% | 4 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
  - This Week: 7/18 | 3 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
  - Notes: Dominguez should be up in AAA next week and if he hits like this in AAA, I’m not sure Alex Verdugo will be holding him down.

#8 OF Dylan Crews (Nationals):

  - Notes: Crews is really rolling the past few weeks.

  - Notes: Basallo nabbing some steals this week is interesting.

  - Notes: Young is running a lot more to start the year, which is nice to see. Young is super underrated thanks to Colt Emerson.

  - Notes: Teel had a huge week on top of the Marcelo Mayer big week.

#75 OF Colby Thomas (Athletics):

- - Season: .286/.329/.589 | 4.3 BB% / 18.7 K%| 29 XBH, 14 HR, 10 SB
  - This Week: 9/23 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  - Notes: Thomas has all fields power and does a great job of shooting the ball through the gaps and has an over 35% line drive rate this year. He has an open stance with hands up, loaded pre-pitch.

#99 C Dalton Rushing (Dodgers)

- - Notes: Rushing is off to an improved start in 2024 vs. 2023 by making better contact.

#106 OF Jacob Marsee (Marlins):

  - Notes: Maresee is still getting smoked by bad BABIP, but everything else is looking good for him.

SS Ryan Ritter (Rockies)

  - Notes: Ritter has some luck here with an over .400 BABIP, but he had a very nice week and is worth watching.

3B Matthew Lugo (Red Sox)

  - Notes: The former second rounder is going to be blocked by Devers at 3B and might have to move over to second. He’s also been playing in the OF.

SS Alex Freeland (Dodgers)

  - This Week: 8/26 | 5 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
  - Notes: Former third rounder, a switch hitting prospect and future Michael Busch type for the Dodgers and their never ending prospect hoard.

  - Notes: Tink had another strong start this week, pitching into the sixth inning, but struggling with his velocity and command once he reached the sixth.

#56 SP Rhett Lowder (Reds):

  - Notes: Lowder had his best start since his promotion to AA this week.

#74 SP Caden Dana (Angels):

  - This Week: 10 IP (2 starts) | 13 Ks, 5 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 1.30 WHIP
  - Notes: Dana looks like old school Thor on the mound with his Viking hair, 94-95 MPH fastball and power slider. With Detmers going down, could Dana get a call up?

#88 SP Hayden Birdsong (Gia nts):

- - Season: 41 1/3 IP | 21 K-BB%, 14.2 SwStr% | 1.96 ERA, 1.04 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 IP | 6 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
  - Notes: Pounds the top of the zone with a 96-97 MPH fastball and has a beautiful curve that generates a lot of swinging strikes. He has a great pitch mix and gets a of whiffs on his three plus pitches (fastball, slider, curve).

#119 SP Hurston Waldrep (Braves):

- - Season: 49 1/3 IP | 14.5 K-BB%, 15.4 SwStr% | 2.92 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
  - This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP
  - Notes: Waldrep has been much better his last three starts and could get a call to AAA soon.

#142 SP Ian Seymour (Rays):

- - Season: 53 2/3 IP | 28.8 K-BB%, 16.7 SwStr% | 2.35 ERA, 0.78 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
  - Notes: Seymour is older for the level, but he’s destroying and is a name to watch with the Rays – it’s time for a promotion at least to AAA.

#147 Andry Lara (Nationals):

- - Season (AA): 18 1/3 IP | 15.9 K-BB%, 15.4 SwStr% | 1.47 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 IP | 6 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP
  - Notes: Mostly fastball / slider, Lara is a big bodied guy who throws mid 90s and his best pitch might be his change up as it break hard away against the other pitches.

SP Jake Eder (White Sox):

- - Season: 51 2/3 IP | 15.7 K-BB%, 13.6 SwStr% | 4.01 ERA, 1.47 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 1/3 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.79 WHIP
  - Notes: I was never the highest on Eder and while the pitch mix is built for him to be a backend starter, but I do think his stuff in the bigs will end up playing up better as a reliever.

SP Mason Adams (White Sox)

- - Season: 51 2/3 IP | 24.3 K-BB%, 14.1 SwStr% | 2.09 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
  - Notes: Mason Adams is the hidden gem of the White Sox baller AA rotation, but sooner or later, he’s going to jump out as the star within.

SP Braxton Ashcraft (Pirates)

- - Season: 46 2/3 IP | 22.5 K-BB%, 15.5 SwStr% | 3.47 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
  - This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.67 WHIP
  - Notes: Ashcraft had one of his better career starts and at his age, should be moving up to AAA sooner, rather than later.

A+ Hitters

#26 1B Xavier Isaac (Rays):

- - Season: .285/.372/.551 | 11.5 BB% / 27.3 K%| 24 XBH, 9 HR, 9 SB
  - This Week: 8/20 | 6 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
  - Notes: Why is Isaac still in A+, call this man up!

#92 C Carter Jensen (Royals)

- - Season: .305/.429/.497 | 17.4 BB% / 18.7 K%| 21 XBH, 5 HR, 11 SB
  - This Week: 9/24 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  - Notes: Jensen is a beast of an athlete for a catcher. The Royals are the masters at developing stud catchers it would seem. He has some solid pull power while also showing the ability to hit the ball the other way, which should keep him from getting shifted to death. He’s a line drive hitter rather than a fly ball hitter, so he should run some higher BABIPs like he is right now, but is probably more like a .250 batting average guy. He has some fantastic plate skills and is great on the basepaths.

#98 2B / SS Brayden Taylor (Rays)

- - Season: .263/.400/.500 | 17.9 BB% / 24.6 K%| 21 XBH, 7 HR, 10 SB
  - This Week: 9/23 | 7 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
  - Notes: Taylor is an advanced hitter and should move quickly through high A, the plate approach looks elite.

#112 OF Justin Crawford (Phillies):

- - Season: .282/.335/.394 | 7 BB% / 21.1 K%| 11 XBH, 3 HR, 19 SB
  - This Week: 7/23 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
  - Notes: Crawford is off to a nice start with the Phillies and is likely a 2025 debut guy.

OF Henry Bolte (Athletics)

- - Season: .289/.413/.528 | 13.8 BB% / 31.2 K%| 24 XBH, 8 HR, 20 SB
  - This Week: 8/17 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
  - Notes: Former second rounder is showing some killer power / speed as a 20-year-old, but has a .423 BABIP which suggests the hit tool is possibly not as good as the stats tell us.

A+ Pitchers

#41 SP Noble Meyer (Marlins):

- - Season (A): 34 IP | 14.2 K-BB%, 14 SwStr% | 2.65 ERA, 1.18 WHIP
  - This Week: 5IP | 6 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
  - Notes: Great first start at high A for Noble Meyer.

#81 SP Sean Sullivan (Rockies):

- - Season: 49 1/3 IP | 27 K-BB%, 15.6 SwStr% | 2.37 ERA, 0.93 WHIP
  - This Week: 9 IP (CG) | 7 Ks, 1 BBs| 1.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP

- - Notes: Sullivan had a complete game last time out, which one might assume could cap his A+ career as he should advance to AA at this point.

#88 SP Quinn Mathews (Cardinals):

- - Season (A): 30 2/3 IP | 35 K-BB%, 18.6 SwStr% | 1.47 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
  - Season (A+): 19 IP | 29.2 K-BB%, 18.7 SwStr% | 2.84 ERA, 0.68 WHIP

  - Notes: Mathews has not skipped a beat at high A and as I noted, he should be in AA at least.

#94 SP Hunter Barco (Pirates):

  - This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  - Notes: Barco is going to move up a level pretty quick and should already be in AA based on his age.

SP Thomas White (Marlins):

  - This Week: 4 IP | 6 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  - Notes: Like Meyer, White also made his first high A start and performed very well.

SP Matt Wilkinson (Guardians):

  - Notes: Small sample size, this dude is going to be a stud.

#103 1B Ralphy Velazquez (Guardians)

  - This Week: 7/21 | 5 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
  - Notes: Great hit tool with power, plate skills and some speed – really this is an exceptional rising prospect under the radar.

#138 2B/SS Kevin McGonigle (Tigers)

- - Season: .358/.449/.519 | 14.8 BB% / 12.5 K%| 11 XBH, 2 HR, 9 SB
  - This Week: 11/23 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  - Notes: This kid has probably the best hit tool of the high school guys from the last class and he’s showing it in the minors, he also has some speed, but will he generate enough power to avoid the Luis Arraez trap? He’s at least showing doubles power and some speed.

#145 SS Cooper Pratt (Brewers):

- - Season: .262/.387/.357 | 15.4 BB% / 23.1 K%| 8 XBH, 1 HR, 11 SB
  - This Week: 6/22 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 3 SB
  - Notes: Pratt was showing off the wheels this week.

C Blake Mitchell (Royals)

- - Season: .253/.387/.475 | 16.5 BB% / 33.5 K%| 18 XBH, 8 HR, 10 SB
  - This Week: 7/22 | 3 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
  - Notes: The Royals first rounder last year was showing off the power this week and after Jensen, the Royals continue the catcher conga line.

SS Angel Genoa (Guardians)
- Season: .337/.380/.549 | 7.3 BB% / 14.6 K%| 22 XBH, 6 HR, 12 SB
- This Week: 7/20 | 5 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: Genoa is really popping this year as he repeats A ball, but the reason he was not in my Top 150 is he needs to be doing this at high A for his age to really impress me.

OF Jonny Farmelo (Mariners)
