Fantasy Baseball Lineup & Roster Notes

As of FRI 6/28

  • Baltimore Orioles:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Oddly, Heston Kjerstad appears to have been called up again to ride the bench as a pinch hitter and Ramon Urias is starting at 3B with an 86 wRC+ while the Orioles have one of the top 3B prospects in baseball in Coby Mayo waiting in the wings.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • The Orioles will definitely be on the hunt for a starter before the deadline and have the ammo to make any move they want.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Boston Red Sox:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • The Enmanuel Valdez tear is over and he’s back to a shot-side platoon role with Cedanne Rafaela at shortstop, who has continued to tear the cover off the ball of late.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Nick Pivetta has been up and down this week, which really shouldn’t be much of a surprise considering that’s the definition of his entire career.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Chicago White Sox:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Luis Robert is hitting third and Eloy Jimenez is hitting fourth… I would like to know how many games these two have actually played together the last two years.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Jonathan Cannon had a terrible last start, but he has a chance at redemption Saturday vs. Colorado.
    • Pen Notes:
  • Cleveland Guardians:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Steven Kwan has a .405/.468/.631 slash since returning from the IL on May 31st.
      • Bo Naylor might be getting hot; he has a .381/.435/.810 slash over his last seven games.
      • Jhonkensy Noel and Jose Tena are both up, but how much playing time will they get? Noel has only started one game in three days since being called up and Jose Tena has not played at all in two days… so it appears they are both riding the bench.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Tanner Bibee has been a top five pitcher in baseball over the last six weeks with a 28.8 K-BB% and 2.51 SIERA.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Detroit Tigers:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Wenceel Perez is now at leadoff with Matt Vierling moving back to third.
      • Justyn Henry-Malloy has been pretty bad in his debut with a near 40% K-rate and terrible 61% contract rate, leading to a .140/.242/.281 slash.
      • Colt Keith has hit .302/.333/.512 with two homers since 6/15, but still moved down to fifth in the lineup.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Reese Olson is back on the path with back-to-back solid starts.
      • If Kenta Maeda was on a one year deal, he may have been DFA’ed at this point.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Houston Astros:
    • Lineup Notes:
    • Rotation Notes:
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Kansas City Royals:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Michael Massey is back in the lineup, but hasn’t really gotten back on track after a rough few games upon his return.
      • Hunter Renfroe has hit .306/394/.613 since May 20th, including 4 homers even despite an IL stint.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Nothing new.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Los Angeles Angels:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Miguel Sano is back in the lineup and hitting fourth despite a 40% K rate on the season when healthy.
    • Rotation Notes:
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Minnesota Twins:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Jose Miranda is killing it with a .295/.341/.495 slash on the season now and 8 bombs, what a nice rebound season.
      • Willi Castro and Miranda combined have been fighting off a Brooks Lee promotion, he’s hitting .375/.434/.708 with 2 bombs since June 15th.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • David Festa was called up and made a “meh” first start netting 5 innings with 2 Ks and 2 BBs.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • New York Yankees:
    • Lineup Notes:
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Gerrit Cole is back and was absolutely destroyed in his second start of the season, allowing 4 homers in 4 innings.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Oakland Athletics:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Zack Gelof is finally starting to turn things around with a .297/.333/.622 slash with 3 bombs and 2 steals since June 15th to go along with a 19% barrel rate.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • All of these A’s pitchers seem like the same guy.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Seattle Mariners:
  • Tampa Bay Rays:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Nada.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Shane Baz is looking ready for a comeback with 31 Ks and only 8 BBs in his last 19 innings at AAA.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Texas Rangers:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Nothing new in the lineup.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Max Scherzer has looked solid in his first couple of starts back in the majors, but not dominant with 8 Ks, 2 BBs in 10 2/3 IP.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Toronto Blue Jays:
  • Arizona Diamondbacks:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Corbin Carroll had looked to self-correct at the start of June, but it’s been rough again for him the last week.
      • Ketel Marte has been good all year, but is really hot the last couple of weeks with a .317/.333/.610 slash with 3 bombs since 6/15.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Nothing new.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Atlanta Braves:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Ramon Laureano is so bad, I didn’t even realize he was on the Braves until now.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Nothing new.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • Chicago Cubs:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • This lineup has been disappointing.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Jameson Taillon has been the tight-rope master of the season so far with a .290 ERA despite a 4.31 SIERA and 12.8 K-BB%.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Cincinnati Reds:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Noelvi Marte returned from suspension and is hitting fifth / starting at 3B.
      • Jonathan India is hot with a .444/.519/.711 slash since July 15th.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Carson Spiers is a guy to watch with a 15.4 K-BB% as a start this year in two starts.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Colorado Rockies:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Why?
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Nothing new.
    • Pen Notes:
  • Los Angeles Dodgers:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • A tale of two lineups…
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Gavin Stone, one year too early. The fScores were actually pretty high on him this year in pre-season.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Miami Marlins:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Nothing new.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • The Marlins might be worse than the As.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Milwaukee Brewers:
    • Lineup Notes:
    • Rotation Notes:
      • The Brewers, as usual, traded for a 36-year-old vet starter (Dallas Keuchel) who hasn’t been good since 2017.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.
  • New York Mets:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Mark Vientos has been absolutely ridiculous this season, posting up a .290/.350/.556 with 9 homers.
      • Francisco Alvarez is slashing .515/.595/.939 with 3 bombs since July 15th, maybe the hottest hitter in baseball (outside of Ohtani and Judge).
      • Brandon Nimmo has been ridiculous the last couple of weeks with a .349/.462/.744 slash with five homers.
    • Rotation Notes:
    • Pen Notes:
  • Philadelphia Phillies:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Brandon Marsh is hitting fourth with Harper and Castellanos out.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • The Phillies are going bullpen with their fifth starter since Walker is out, if Mick Abel was performing one would think he might just slot right in.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • Pittsburgh Pirates:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • The Pirates need to add a big time hitter to the middle of the lineup if they want to make a legitimate run.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Jared Jones looks like he’s coming back after a slight downtick over the last month with a strong start against the Rays with 8 Ks and 3 BBs last time out.
    • Pen Notes:
  • San Diego Padres:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Jackson Merrill is shining in this lineup without Tatis, though to be fair he’s been fire for about three weeks with a .317/.349/.671 slash with 8 bombs and 2 steals since June 5th.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • I wouldn’t give up on Adam Mazur in super deep leagues yet, he has a 103 Stuff Plus with his fastball being his worst pitch due to shape, so if he adjusts his pitch mix to use the fastball less and the control course corrects to his standard, he should be solid.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • San Francisco Giants:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • LaMonte Wade Jr. is back in the lineup and hitting second, while Heliot Ramos has been coming back down to Earth the last two weeks with a .194 BABIP and .173 batting average. This was due, so don’t be surprised, though he still had 2 bombs despite the struggles over this time.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Hayden Birdsong and Spencer Howard both joined the rotation with all of their injuries, surprisingly Birdsong jumped Carson Whisenhunt in the pecking order.
      • Birdsong had a decent first start with 3 ER in just under 5 innings with 5 Ks and 3 BBs.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new.
  • St. Louis Cardinals:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • Willson Contreras is hitting third right now back in the lineup and Nolan Arenado has dropped down to sixth in the lineup.
      • Lars Nootbaar is expected to return early next week and will probably be starting in CF.
      • Brendan Donovan has a .353/.382/.541 slash with 4 bombs since 6/5.
      • Alec Burleson has broken out this season with regular playing time, since starting regularly on April 30th, Burleson has a .288/.313/.500 slash with 11 bombs and 5 steals.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Andre Pallante had a decent start Friday night after Matthew Liberatore killed it in his last start. I don’t think Pallante is a good starter, he only has a 7.7 K-BB%, but has a low 4 ERA.
    • Pen Notes:
      • Nothing new, Helsley is going to get paid.
  • Washington Nationals:
    • Lineup Notes:
      • James Wood is coming up on Monday and is expected to take over LF, which will push Jesse Winker over to DH and Rosario to fourth OF. I’d expect him to hit in the top half of the lineup.
    • Rotation Notes:
      • Mitchell Parker had a few bad starts to begin the month, but has rebounded in his last three starts with a 19.4 K-BB% and 3.57 SIERA.
      • DJ Herz had a couple rough outings following his dominant 13 K start, getting hit around even despite a good K-BB at Colorado, while last time out the Padres smoked him with no ballpark excuse to defend him. I still think he’s worth holding at least for one more turn in shallow leagues.
    • Pen Notes:
      • No update.

Fantasy Baseball Injury Notes

  • 1B Bryce Harper (Phillies) – Harper hit the IL with a left hamstring strain and is likely out until the All Star break.
  • OF Kyle Schwarber (Phillies) – Schwarber also hit the IL with a groin strain and I’d assume a similar timeline.
  • OF Fernando Tatis Jr. (Padres) – Tatis was placed on the IL with a right femoral stress reaction and is not expected to return until about the All Star Break.
  • SP Jesus Luzardo (Marlins) – Luzardo was placed on the IL with a lumbar stress reaction and is likely out for 4-6 weeks, putting his trade status in doubt.
  • SP Braxton Garrett (Marlins) – Garrett hit the IL with a left forearm flexor strain with an uncertain timeline on his recovery.
  • OF Giancarlo Stanton (Yankees) – Stanton received a PRP injection after being placed on the IL with a hamstring injury.
  • RP David Bednar (Pirates) – The Pirates’ sturdy closer was placed on the IL with a left oblique strain and is likely out for 4-8 weeks.
  • SP Bryan Woo (Mariners) – Woo was placed on the IL with a low-grade hamstring strain, so the hope is he could be back in 2-3 weeks.
  • SP Nick Lodolo (Reds)Nick Lodolo was placed on the IL with a blister on his pitching hand. We know blisters can be fickle, so it’s hard to put a timetable on it.
  • OF Starling Marte (Mets) – Marte was placed on the 10 day IL with a right knee bone bruise and is expected to be out for at least four weeks.
  • SP Clayton Kershaw (Dodgers) – Kershaw’s rehab was halted, which is concerning but we don’t have many details on that and it’s hard to speculate on when he will return.
  • SP Chris Paddack (Twins)Chris Paddack hit the IL with shoulder fatigue, which I’m not surprised by as he’s recovering from Tommy John last year and is almost at 80 innings already.
  • SP Patrick Sandoval (Angels) – Sandoval underwent UCL surgery, so we will see him in 2026.
  • SP Javier Assad (Cubs) – Assad hit the IL with a right forearm flexor strain and is out for an unspecified period of time.
  • SP Taijuan Walker (Phillies) – Walker was placed on the IL with inflammation in his index finger, but he’s been bad so this might just be a breather to hopefully course correct.

NOTE: Under 50% Owned (CBS)

Last Week: OF Joc Pederson (Diamondbacks, 48%), C/1B Tyler Soderstrom (Athletics, 49%), 1B Carlos Santana (Twins, 35%),SP DJ Herz (Nationals, 41%), SP Simeon Wood Richardson (Twins, 33%)

  1. 3B Jose Miranda (Twins) 38% – After a terrible sophomore season in 2023, Miranda has taken the 3B job and run with it. Over the last two weeks he has a 200 wRC+ with a .395/.444/.648 and two homers.
  2. SP David Festa (Twins) 19% – Festa is a top 65-ish prospect for me and I love to see him up in the majors. I think he has #2 starter upside and he should stick up in the majors thanks to the Paddack innings threshold, even when Paddack returns. The first start wasn’t anything special, but it’s one start and I trust the track record.
  3. SP Mitchell Parker (Nationals) 49%Mitchell Parker is more solid than great, but he has a nice floor in his profile thanks to having fantastic control of his pitches and has rebounded in his last three starts with 17 Ks and only 3 BBs in 17 innings.
  4. C Patrick Bailey (Giants) 42% – If you need a catcher, you can do a lot worse than Patrick Bailey who has really taken a nice step forward and has a .308/.372/.487 with 2 homers.
  5. SP DJ Herz (Nationals) 30% – Herz is coming off a bad start against the Padre, but it’s presenting a buying opportunity for a dude who has a 20.2 K-BB rate since being called up and a 3.50 SIERA.

Tim’s Top 5 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Adds (15 Team Leagues)

NOTE: Under 30% Owned (CBS)

Last Week: SP Cade Povich (Orioles, 30%), SP Jonathan Cannon (White Sox, 21%), OF Tommy Pham (White Sox, 20%), OF Jose Siri (Rays, 14%), 1B/3B Tyler Black (Brewers, 15%)

  1. 2B Spencer Horwitz (Blue Jays) 24% – Horwitz has been a beast contact-wise since being called up with a .333/.477/.490 slash line with 2 bombs in 18 games.
  2. Slade Cecconi (Diamondbacks) 5% – I have had Cecconi on this list before because he’s a big positive regression candidate with a 4.12 SIERA against a 5.81 ERA on the season, but over his last three starts he has 15 Ks and 2 BBs in 13 innings for a 24.5 K-BB rate and 2.90 SIERA.
  3. OF Jose Siri (Rays) 19% – Siri was on this list last week and has continued the heater with a .317/.404/.634 slash with four bombs over the last two weeks, including a killer bat flip against Mitchell Parker.
  4. SP Spencer Arrighetti (Astros) 27% – Arrighetti is like Cecconi with a 4.21 SIERA against a 5.68 ERA, but the 29.1 CSW% gives us a lot more hope and helps me believe in the 10 K, 0 BB outing he just had (even if it was against Rocky Road).
  5. SP Hayden Birdsong (Giants) 9% – Someone might think I’m crazy to have Birdsong on this list after a meh start, but Birdsong was in my top 100 prospects for a reason and despite moving quickly he had posted over 30% K rates at every level in the minors and was hit up to a .385 BABIP in his first start. There’s a lot here to like and it’s worth adding him if you have the roster space.

Tim’s Top 10 Fantasy Baseball Redraft Prospects

Not promoted yet

1. OF James Wood (Nationals)

2023 A+/AA: .262/.353/.520 | 62 XBH, 26 HR, 18 SB

2024 AAA: .353/.463/.595 | 17.3 BB%, 18.2 K% | 26 XBH, 10 HR, 10 SB

Age: 21

ETA: July 1st

fScores: 102 fContact, 107 fDiscipline, 108 fPower, 135 fSpeed

Comp: Lefty Aaron Judge

Prime Skills: Light tower power from the left side of the plate. He has a home run swing if we’ve ever seen one and has the biggest power upside of the top 10, even more than Wyatt Langford and Junior Caminero due to the huge 6′ 7″ frame. fPower likes Caminero and Langford a bit more at the moment due to the higher number of ground balls, which is the one thing concerning me about Wood right now – especially after watching Jordan Walker struggle with the same thing close-at-hand as a Cardinals fan.

Ranking Explanation: He’s coming up Monday, so this is kind of a cheat, but if he’s not owned in your league BUY HARD.

***Christian Scott would be placed here.

2. 3B Junior Caminero (Rays)

2023 A+/AA: .324/.384/.591 | 56 XBH, 31 HR, 5 SB

2023 MLB: .235/.278/.353| 5.6 BB% / 22.2 K%| 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB

2024 AAA: .301/.368/.540 | 8.8 BB% / 21.6 K%| 13 XBH, 7 HR, 1 SB

Age: 20

ETA: Late July

fScores: 97 fContact, 86 fDiscipline, 121 fPower, 78 fSpeed

Comp: Ronald Acuna w/o the wheels

Prime Skills: Probably the quickest bat speed in the minors with some big time power potential. He could be one of the best hitters in baseball sooner rather than later. The lack of a higher walk rate and being overly aggressive might ding him a bit in points leagues, but the power will be his carrying tool right out of the gate as he should at worst put up numbers similar to Willy Adames, but with a better batting average.

Ranking Explanation: Caminero is still out another 2-4 weeks before we can expect any call up, but I’m still slotting him over Mayo because I think they both come up around the same time and Caminero has less competition once he gets the call while Mayo could be fighting (even though he shouldn’t) for ABs.

3. 3B Coby Mayo (Orioles)

2023 AA/AAA: .290/.410/.564, 29 HR, 5 SB

2024 AAA: .314/.384/.647, 33 XBH, 17 HR, 3 SB

Age: 22

ETA: Late July

fScores: 96 fContact, 102 fDiscipline, 114 fPower, 77 fSpeed

Comp: Nolan Arenado as a hitter

Prime Skills: Mayo has a quick and powerful swing that portends to future 25-30-ish homer power with 5-ish steal speed. He has an average enough hit tool, but the potential strikeout rate is a bit concerning if he can’t hold it down closer to 25% at the major league level.

Ranking Explanation: One could argue Mayo should be up right now and starting at third base. When will it happen? He’s earned it, but the Orioles need to clear some room for a starter before we see Mayo make the jump.

***Jordan Walker would be placed here.

4. SS Brooks Lee (Twins)

2023 AA/AAA: .275/.347/.461 | 58 XBH, 16 HR, 7 SB

2024 AAA: .342/.412/.632 | 10.6 BB%, 12.9 K% | 10 XBH, 6 HR, 1 SB

Age: 23

ETA: Early July

fScores: 95 fContact, 95 fDiscipline, 89 fPower, 66 fSpeed

Comp: Chipper Jones light meets David Freese

Prime Skills: He’s an extra base hitter and switch hitter on top of it, he has great contact skills with only 15-20 homer power to go along with above average plate skills, but no speed.

Ranking Explanation: Lee is mashing at AAA and with Kirilloff hitting the IL, there’s a chance we could see Lee up soon, but this depends on the Twins plans for Edouard Julien. Lee could come up and just play super sub to spell guys like Lewis, Correa, etc. to avoid injuries.

***Jackson Holliday would be placed here.

***Jasson Dominguez would be placed here.

5. 1B Deyvison De Los Santos (Diamondbacks)

2023 AA: .254/.297/.431 | 38 XBH, 20 HR, 4 SB

2024 AA: .374/.426/.696 | 7.4 BB%, 22.2 K% | 19 XBH, 14 HR, 1 SB

2024 AAA: .308/.355/.615 | 5.7 BB%, 23.4 K% | 21 XBH, 10 HR, 0 SB

Age: 20

ETA: Early July

fScores: N/A

Comp: Cristian Encarnacion-Strand

Prime Skills: Big time power potential with an improved contact rate and decrease in strikeouts.

Ranking Explanation: De Los Santos has 24 bombs on the year in the minors and 40 XBH, he’s been absolutely ridiculous and if he can pick up third base for the D Backs, he should be up soon to compliment this lineup.

6. 2B / 3B Jace Jung (Tigers)

2023 A+/AA: .265/.376/.502 | 57 XBH, 28 HR, 5 SB

2024 AAA: .270/.390/.500 | 16.6 BB%, 22.6 K% | 30 XBH, 11 HR, 1 SB

Age: 22

ETA: Late July

fScores: N/A

Comp: Nolan Gorman meets Josh Jung

Prime Skills: The pull power is legit. His swing reminds me a ton of Nolan Gorman and his approach is very similar to his brother Josh. All things look good for success, except that he will have to hit in Detroit.

Ranking Explanation: Jung has been out since 6/19 with right wrist soreness, but is already expected to come back in the next few days or so.

7. SP Carson Whisenhunt (Giants)

2023 A/A+/AA: 58 2/3 IP | 83 Ks, 23 BBs | 2.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP

2024 AAA: 63 IP | 16.7 K-BB%, 14.5 SwStr%, 31.9 CSW% | 5.29 ERA, 1.65 WHIP

Age: 23

ETA: Late July

fScores: 121 fStuff, 93 fControl, 107 fERA

Comp: A plus version of Braxton Garrett or lefty Brandon Pfaadt

Prime Skills: He has a super slurvy-like curve and possibly the best change up in the minors, but he’s playing these against a below average fastball. Whisenhunt missed basically all of the second half in 2023 and was thrown to the wolves in the PCL in 2024, so his damage stats shouldn’t be held too much against him.

Ranking Explanation: I thought Whisenhunt was destined to come up this week, but instead the Giants called up Birdsong who has not been exposed to the PCL as long as Whisenhunt and could be a reason for the difference in their numbers.

8. SP Ricky Tiedemann (Blue Jays)

2023 Rk/A/AA/AAA: 44 IP, 82 Ks, 23 BBs, 3.68 ERA, 1.23 WHIP

2024 AAA: 8 IP, 10 Ks, 9 BBs, 5.63 ERA, 2.00 WHIP

Age: 22

ETA: Early August

fScores: 49 fPDurability, 121 fStuff, 96 fControl, 167 fERA

Comp: Good Andrew Heaney

Prime Skills: Tiedemann was a huge breakout last year and has a really nice fastball – slider combo. His changeup plays great off the slider, which is probably his best pitch. He’s a tunnel master who has a short arm / side arm funky delivery from the left side which makes his slider even tougher to pick up. He does have bullpen risk.

Ranking Explanation: Tiedemann has had a couple short 2 inning starts with 9 Ks and 2 BBS in only 4 1/3 innings and should be working his way back for perhaps an August call up.

9. SP/RP Jairo Iriarte (White Sox)

2023 A+/AA: 90 1/3 IP | 128 Ks, 45 BBs | 3.49 ERA, 1.28 WHIP

2024 AA: 77 IP | 14.4 K-BB%, 13.2 SwStr%, 32.9 CSW% | 4.32 ERA, 1.27 WHIP

Age: 24

ETA: Early August

fScore: 114 fStuff, 91 fControl, 124 fERA

Comp: Young Luis Severino and Ryan Pepiot mash

Prime Skills: Iriarte runs a 94-96 MPH fastball with a hard 84-85 MPH 12/6 slider that tunnel together fantastically. The fastball actually has a little bit of ride on it rather than rise and goes the opposite direction of the slider. The changeup is also a solid pitch, but most of his swinging strikes come on the slider.

Ranking Explanation: Iriarte has been dealing this year and while many think he’s slated for the pen, he is proving he has the makings of a starter and will likely get a chance as soon as the White Sox move one of their starters before the deadline.

10. SP Jakob Misiorowski (Brewers)

2023 A/A+/AA: 71 1/3 IP | 110 Ks, 42 BBs | 3.41 ERA, 1.18 WHIP

2024 AA: 58 IP | 14.7 K-BB%, 14.2 SwStr%, 32.2 CSW% | 3.10 ERA, 1.29 WHIP

Age: 23

Comp: Tyler Glasnow

ETA: Early September

fScores: 114 fStuff, 86 fControl, 118 fERA

Prime Skills: Killer fastball, he throws it 101 and it’s at an odd arm angle, so it’s difficult to pick up. He’s had some control issues, especially in his short stint at AA, but if he can harness the control he could be an elite starter – otherwise he will be a back of the bullpen beast.

Ranking Explanation: The control issues limit the upside a bit compared to the upside of his stuff, but he has a range of outcomes that goes from ace to top setup guy. I trust he will find success in one role or another. Remember Glasnow had the same concerns with Pittsburgh due to his size and has had control and durability issues at different times throughout his career. The Brewers have had a ton of injuries in the rotation and if they are going to make a playoff run, they will need Misiorowski – especially if they don’t trade for another starter.
