Welcome back to the latest edition of the “Closer Report.” We don’t have any huge changes in the chart this week, but there are several volatile bullpen situations I’ll talk about in the “News & Notes” section at the bottom where we could see a closer change shortly.

News & Notes
The biggest bullpen news of the week revolved once again around the Mets bullpen with Jorge Lopez getting designated for assignment. Before that, Diaz was placed on the injured list with a right shoulder impingement. It is a committee in the Mets bullpen with Adam Ottavino and Reed Garrett leading the way.
Mason Miller blew his first save of the season on Thursday when Jose Siri launched a solo home run off him in a 4-3 game. He remains one of the most dominant closers in the MLB and is likely a candidate to be moved at the trade deadline this year.
Trevor Megill left his last relief appearance after getting hit on the elbow by a line drive. The latest report suggests he is expected to avoid a trip to the injured list and remains day-to-day.
The bullpen situations that seem the most volatile right now revolve around Pete Fairbanks (Rays), Jason Foley (Tigers), James McArthur (Royals) and Carlos Estevez (Angels). Those will be a handful of bullpens to monitor over the next week in situations where a change at closer could be close.
