This not only moves those closers traded into new situations but also opens up new opportunities for relievers behind them to step into closer roles. This is something to consider as rumors continue and we get closer to the trade deadline.

News & Notes
Ryan Helsley was the first closer to reach 20 saves as he currently sits at 21 saves on the season with Emmanuel Clase (19 saves) and Clay Holmes (18 saves) right behind him.
Evan Phillips was activated from the injured (IL) list last week. He recorded a save in his first appearance back but allowed three runs in a non-save situation on Thursday. He remains in his usual closer role in the Dodgers’ bullpen.
Andres Munoz had a back injury flare-up after a collision at the plate against the Athletics on Tuesday. He appeared to avoid a serious injury but did not appear in Friday’s save situation. He was able to throw before Friday’s game and could be available this weekend.
Jordan Romano was placed on the 15-day IL last week. Yimi Garcia has taken over the closer role for Toronto in his absence.
