News & Notes

Ryan Helsley continues to lead the MLB with 23 saves, followed by Emmanuel Clase (21 saves), Clay Holmes (19 saves) and Kyle Finnegan (19 saves).

Andres Munoz appears healthy after pitching a scoreless eighth inning against the top of the Rangers’ lineup in the Mariners’ 3-2 win on Friday. Ryne Stanek picked up the save. Munoz remains the closer for Seattle, but manager Scott Servais has shown he isn’t afraid to put him in the game in the eighth inning if it’s against the heart of the lineup.

The Mets activated Edwin Diaz from the 15-day injured list (IL) on Tuesday. He earned the win in his first appearance back, pitching a scoreless ninth inning before a walk-off homer was hit in the bottom half of the frame.

Tanner Scott, who blew that save for Miami against the Mets, has seen his name pop up in trade rumors. If he is moved, A.J. Puk could take over the closer role for the Marlins.
