Dynasty Rookie Draft Pick Review
1.10 – Xavier Worthy (WR – KC)
The outcome everyone clamored for in their mocks all draft season became a reality on night one of the NFL Draft. The former Longhorn speedster was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Worthy now enters a receiving room where he will have to contend with Marquise Brown this year and Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce over at least the next two years for targets. Even with that being the case, getting tied to Patrick Mahomes isn’t too shabby. This isn’t another Skyy Moore situation, although I know people will have worries and make the lazy connection at times. The Worthy conversation begins at 1.05 in 1QB formats and 1.09 in Superflex.

2.10 – MarShawn Lloyd (RB – GB)
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably already aware that MarShawn Lloyd was one of my man crushes throughout the NFL Draft cycle. While his landing spot has turned many off, I’m not fazed. Will Josh Jacobs be heavily involved weekly? Sure, but that doesn’t mean that Lloyd is a zero or change-of-pace option only. Lloyd crushed every part of the predraft process after jumping off the stat sheet during his final two collegiate seasons. In each of those two years, he finished in the top 20 in yards after contact per attempt, breakaway percentage, and PFF elusive rating. Lloyd will quickly be a major factor in this backfield, with his main competition for touches (Josh Jacobs) hoping for a bounceback year. Last year, Jacobs struggled mightily to break tackles and create big plays as he ranked (among 49 qualifying backs last season per Fantasy Points Data) 41st in explosive run rate, 37th in missed tackles forced per attempt, and 44th in yards after contact per attempt. Lloyd is an RB3/4 who can easily out-kick his ADP this season.

3.10 – Luke McCaffrey (WR – WAS)
McCaffrey was scooped up in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders, which was earlier than many had projected him. McCaffrey is a savvy player who continues to add skills to the toolbelt yearly after making the switch to wide receiver. Jahan Dotson has been an underwhelming player in the NFL. This new regime has no allegiances to him, so don’t be surprised if McCaffrey wins the WR2 role opposite Terry McLaurin in camp. McCaffrey should be selected in the late second round or early third round of rookie drafts.

5.10 – Joe Milton III (QB – NE)
Milton fell to the sixth round of the NFL Draft before being scooped up by the Patriots. Milton will go to training camp fighting for a roster spot with Bailey Zappe. With Jacoby Brissett and Drake Maye already occupying the top two depth chart spots in New England, Milton will have to win the QB3 job to break camp with the team for the regular season. Stash him on a taxi squad in Superflex formats.
