Fantasy Baseball Prospects Report

NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 ABs, or 50 IPs at the Major League level.

NOTE: All stats as of Sunday, May 19th. This may be a shorter version than normal and next week we will be deviating from our normal format as I plan to release an updated and extensive Top 150 Prospect Rankings for Memorial Day Weekend.

      • Notes: Nothing too exciting, but at least some signs of life from Keith this week.
      • Season: .294/.342/.399 | 7.1 BB% / 16.7 K%| 8 XBH, 3 HR, 7 SB
      • This Week: 8/16 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: Merrill has been hitting the crap out of the ball this week with a 93.7 average EV.
      • Season: .220/.220/.356 | 0 BB% / 39 K%| 4 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 7/23 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Beck started figuring things out at the back end of the week, let’s see if this growth continues forward. Rookie hitters have had a pretty tough time this season.
      • Season: .306/.359/.417 | 7.7 BB% / 41 K%| 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 4/13 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Talking about guys hitting the ball hard, Loperfido has an average EV of 95.3 this week. Get this guy some more ABs!
      • Season: .297/.350/.378 | 7.5 BB% / 32.5 K%| 3 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 6/25 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: What he is doing is inflated by an incredibly high BABIP of .458, so buyer beware.

MLB Pitchers

  • #10 SP Paul Skenes (Pirates):
      • Season: 10 IP | 38.5 K-BB%, 17.4 SwStr% | 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 11 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.17 WHIP
      • Notes: Skenes has a 32.1% CSW and 1.58 SIERA so far – just making guys look silly against the sprinkler.
      • Season: 11 IP | 11.9 K-BB%, 10.6 SwStr% | 0.82 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 2 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
      • Notes: Gasser has strikeout stuff and demonstrated it all through the minors, so don’t take him for granted based on the lack of Ks to date.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: AAA Hitters

      • Season: .309/.372/.555 | 9.1 BB% / 20.7 K%| 13 XBH, 7 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 6/21 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: The big thing for Caminero this week is not really the production, but the fact he’s playing 2B now as well.
      • Season: .301/.380/.512 | 9.9 BB% / 15.5 K%| 11 XBH, 6 HR, 6 SB
      • This Week: 5/18 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: Here come the Tyler Black steals as he tries to work his way back into the bigs.
      • Season: .257/.383/.495 | 17.2 BB% / 23.4 K%| 14 XBH, 4 HR, 11 SB
      • This Week: 6/17 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Nice week for Clase back in AAA, including 5 walks!
      • Season: .291/.359/.605 | 8.9 BB% / 27.6 K%| 26 XBH, 13 HR, 3 SB
      • This Week: 4/12 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Mayo is still mashing with an over 93 average EV on the season and a max EV of just under 115.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: AAA Pitchers

      • Season: 30 2/3 IP | 19 K-BB%, 14.3 SwStr% | 6.16 ERA, 1.66 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Whisenhunt has been a roller coaster this season in the PCL, but I think a lot of that might just be the PCL and he could perform better in the majors if given the opportunity.
      • Season: 34 IP | 22.6 K-BB%, 16.4 SwStr% | 3.18 ERA, 1.47 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 IP | 4 Ks, 2 BBs | 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
      • Notes: Festa needs to reign in the walks in order to be a force in the majors, but it’s possible the walk rate is inflated by the ABS (automatic ball-strike system) right now.
  • #138 RP Landon Roupp (Giants):
      • Season: 9 2/3 IP | 30.8 K-BB%, 14% SwStr% | 2.79 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 IP | 7 K and 2 BB | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Roupp is starting in the minors right now when he had been in the pen in the majors and we can see the stuff really playing up at AAA.
      • Season: 47 2/3 IP | 25.3 K-BB%, 12.2 SwStr% | 2.08 ERA, 1.05 WHIP
      • This Week: 10 1/3 IP (2 starts) | 15 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.48 ERA, 1.26 WHIP
      • Notes: Povich had one good start and one bad start this week, but it’s good to see him notching up the K numbers and rebounding off the bad start with a strong follow-up.
  • SP Sem Roberese (Cardinals)
      • Season: 47 2/3 IP | 18.9 K-BB%, 12.9 SwStr% | 2.64 ERA, 0.99 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 5 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
      • Notes: Liberatore was blown up again today in the rotation, how long will the Cardinals keep running him out instead of calling up Roberese?
      • Season (AA): 32 1/3 IP | 22.5 K-BB%, 13.9 SwStr% | 1.95 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 6 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP
      • Notes: Mazur made his AAA debut this week avoiding a blow up in the PCL, he could be fairly close to a call up and at this point I think he’s next up in the event of a longer term pitching injury for the Padres.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: AA Hitters

      • Season: .253/.333/.442 | 9.2 BB% / 30.3 K%| 10 XBH, 3 HR, 6 SB
      • This Week: 7/23 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Crews has had more of a speed based game this year than smashing extra base hits like we expected. He needs to work on cutting the K rate down.
      • Season: .238/.333/.475 | 11.3 BB% / 25.3 K%| 12 XBH, 8 HR, 2 SB
      • This Week: 3/22 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: House did a good amount of damage this week despite only racking up three hits. He is a little dependant on the homer though as we can see 2/3s of his XBH have been bombs.
      • Season: .254/.340/.366 | 10.3 BB% / 15.5 K%| 11 XBH, 2 HR, 7 SB
      • This Week: 7/19 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: I’m high on Cole Young who has a great plate approach and is only 20-years-old, way ahead of the game on age-to-level.
      • Season: .303/.348/.479 | 7.1 BB% / 21.3 K%| 19 XBH, 3 HR, 8 SB
      • This Week: 9/25 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Mayer is continuing his hot streak with another killer week. The dude has 16 doubles on the season already.
      • Season: .346/.426/.631 | 10.8 BB% / 24.3 K%| 21 XBH, 7 HR, 10 SB
      • This Week: 10/21 | 8 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Wow! Even with a ridiculous BABIP, Williams continues to rake – he’s ready for AAA – he is just destroying AA pitching at this point by being aggressive. This week included two triples.
      • Season: .252/.299/.393 | 6 BB% / 22.5 K%| 7 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 7/22 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Yanquiel is still young for the level and he may be figuring out AA pitching with a strong week.
      • Season: .299/.409/.552 | 13.1 BB% / 25 K%| 19 XBH, 7 HR, 3 SB
      • This Week: 7/22 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Locklear is continuing his hot streak after making my Prospect 10 last week.
      • Season: .260/.460/.540 | 26.3 BB% / 29.9 K%| 16 XBH, 5 HR, 9 SB
      • This Week: 5/14 (w/ 7 BBs) | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Rodriguez continues the future points league dominance with another killer OBP week. He also hit another homer on Sunday (which isn’t included above).
      • Season: .382/.437/.715 | 7.6 BB% / 21.5 K%| 19 XBH, 14 HR, 1 SB
      • This Week: 11/21 | 3 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: De Los Santos continues to crush and just needs to be up in AAA at this point.
      • Season: .285/.395/.618 | 15 BB% / 19 K%| 17 XBH, 12 HR, 8 SB
      • This Week: 10/22 | 5 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Ramirez is looking like a dude after a rough AAA intro last year, I think he might be the Yankees future at catcher rather than Austin Wells.
      • Season: .276/.321/.546 | 4.2 BB% / 21.2 K%| 20 XBH, 10 HR, 9 SB
      • This Week: 6/29 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Thomas didn’t have the best week from a batting average standpoint, but did some damage with 4 XBH.
      • Season: .288/.391/.459 | 14.8 BB% / 22.2 K%| 11 XBH, 4 HR, 8 SB
      • This Week: 5/17 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Beavers has a .429 BABIP helping him out, but is showing good plate skills and above average tools

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: AA Pitchers

      • Season: 34 IP | 11.4 K-BB%, 11.6 SwStr% | 3.44 ERA, 1.29 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.50 ERA, 0.33 WHIP
      • Notes: Snelling is coming off his best start of the season and the K rate has been ticked down quite a bit since joining the higher ranks of the minors. It’s possible he’s more of a control / bad contact generator than strikeout guy.
      • Season: 31 IP | 15.2 K-BB%, 13.6 SwStr% | 5.81 ERA, 1.58 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Petty is coming off his best start of the season as well, I would like to see him carry these strikeouts into the next game.
      • Season: 39 2/3 IP | 20.4 K-BB%, 16 SwStr% | 3.18 ERA, 1.08 WHIP
      • This Week: 9 2/3 IP (2 starts) | 10 Ks, 5 BBs | 1.86 ERA, 1.55 WHIP
      • Notes: Tink had a short start to start the week then a really strong 6 inning start to close the week with 9 Ks and 2 BBs.
      • Season: 38 IP | 11.4 K-BB%, 14.3 SwStr% | 3.32 ERA, 1.47 WHIP
      • This Week: 8 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.13 ERA, 1.85 WHIP
      • Notes: Waldrep had his best start of the season this week and it will be interesting to see if the can carry the command forward into his next start.
      • Season: 41 2/3 IP | 26.7 K-BB%, 15.9 SwStr% | 2.81 ERA, 0.84 WHIP
      • This Week: 11 IP (2 starts) | 15 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.64 ERA, 0.64 WHIP
      • Notes: Seymour should be bumped to AAA, he’s a 25-year-old former second round pick who is absolutely killing it this season.
      • Season: 36 2/3 IP | 14.4 K-BB%, 14.4 SwStr% | 2.70 ERA, 1.28 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 2/3 IP | 11 Ks, 1 BBs | 5.40 ERA, 1.05 WHIP
      • Notes: Iriarte has been dealing this year and while many think he’s slated for the pen, he is proving he has the makings of a starter.
      • Season: 37 1/3 IP | 22.4 K-BB%, 14.2 SwStr% | 2.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
      • Notes: Tidwell continues to roll as a probable early 2025 guy to watch who could follow the Christian Scott path to the majors.
      • Season: 34 1/3 IP | 36.6 K-BB% (AA), 10.6 SwStr% (AA) | 1.83 ERA, 0.67 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 6 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
      • Notes: Matthews continued the walkless streak in 2024 with another strong start this week.
  • SP Andry Lara (Nationals):
      • Season (A+): 30 2/3 IP | 24.8 K-BB%, 16.9 SwStr% | 2.35 ERA, 1.04 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 1/3 IP | 5 Ks, 3 BBs | 1.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP
      • Notes: Lara made his first start in AA this week, which was not overly impressive, but he is moving on up and I wanted to make note of it.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: A+ Hitters

      • Season: .281/.371/.521 | 12.1 BB% / 26.4 K%| 15 XBH, 7 HR, 8 SB
      • This Week: 10/25 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
      • Notes: Isaac is making the list every week as he works his way up my rankings.
      • Season: .291/.406/.515 | 16.3 BB% / 20 K%| 14 XBH, 7 HR, 13 SB
      • This Week: 11/25 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Pintar is proving himself to be an electric player who has probably earned a call up to AA at this point based on his overall game being dominant at the level.
      • Season: .254/.371/.477 | 15.1 BB% / 13.8 K%| 15 XBH, 7 HR, 3 SB
      • This Week: 8/23 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: He has been caught stealing more than he has steals, so the speed is likely irrelevant, but the plate skills and increased power are interesting.
      • Season (A): .397/.530/.513 | 17.8 BB% / 17.8 K%| 5 XBH, 1 HR, 11 SB
      • This Week (A+): 10/23 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 10 SB
      • Notes: Morabito was promoted to high A last week and look at those wheels for the 2022 second rounder! It should probably be noted he was also caught stealing three times.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: A+ Pitchers

      • Season: 37 2/3 IP | 23.4 K-BB%, 14.3 SwStr% | 2.15 ERA, 1.12 WHIP
      • This Week: 7 IP | 6 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.14 WHIP (1 hit)
      • Notes: In a week a lot of the top end pitchers at high A got dinged up, Andrew Morris kept things rolling. The Twins are developing a great pitching team, especially in regards to control as Morris only has 7 walks on the season.
      • Season: 37 IP | 27.5 K-BB%, 14.6 SwStr% | 1.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
      • Notes: I would like to see either Santos get promoted or he starts pitching deeper into games than 5 innings every time out.
      • Season: 22 2/3 IP | 20.6 K-BB%, 12.2 SwStr% | 3.57 ERA, 1.32 WHIP
      • This Week: 4 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
      • Notes: Hjerpe is too good for this level on a stuff basis and really should probably be looked at more as a future pen option than a starter – he could move fast in that role. The K rate is insanely good at almost 2 strikeouts per inning, but the control is holding him back.
      • Season: 41 IP | 31 K-BB%, 13.7 SwStr% | 1.54 ERA, 0.73 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 1/3 IP | 11 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.47 WHIP
      • Notes: Murphy is a former first rounder who has a ridiculous fastball and is going to be moving way up in my rankings, probably to the top 75, if not higher.
  • SP Quinn Matthews (Cardinals):
      • Season (A): 30 2/3 IP | 35 K-BB%, 18.6 SwStr% | 1.47 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
      • This Week (A+): 7 IP | 11 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 0.57 WHIP
      • Notes: Matthews was finally promoted to high A and is showing why I keep saying this dude should be in AA already with another killer outing.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: A Hitters

      • Season: N/A
      • This Week: 5/11 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Dominguez is back in action and will probably spend a week or so at each level before moving up to AAA. The Yankees have already said he is unlikely to be immediately bumped up to the majors after his rehab is complete.
      • Season: .267/.363/.400 | 12.8 BB% / 35.2 K%| 9 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
      • This Week: 6/19 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Jones had his best week as a professional hitter, hopefully he’s finally settling in.
      • Season: .257/.352/.486 | 11.7 BB% / 26.6 K%| 15 XBH, 4 HR, 4 SB
      • This Week: 6/21 | 5 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Here comes the power for De Paula!
      • Season: .254/.456/.538 | 17.7 BB% / 22.4 K%| 15 XBH, 5 HR, 4 SB
      • This Week: 6/13 (w/ 4 BBs) | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Perez did a lot without many PAs this week.
  • SS Angel Genoa (Guardians)
      • Season: .323/.366/.534 | 6.9 BB% / 15.9 K%| 16 XBH, 5 HR, 4 SB
      • This Week: 11/21 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Genoa had two triples this week and is showing he has some hidden power in his swing for a small guy, he is a little old for the level and I’d like to see him promoted soon at 20-years-old.
      • Season: .265/.327/.480 | 9.1 BB% / 25.5 K%| 11 XBH, 5 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 8/27 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: A nice power week for Mr. two-way hitter.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: A Pitchers

      • Season: 29 IP | 9.8 K-BB%, 13.2 SwStr% | 2.79 ERA, 1.24 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 4 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Meyer is up to three consecutive solid starts in a row despite the high walk rate in this one.
  • SP Juan Salas (Cardinals):
      • Season: 31 2/3 IP | 24 K-BB%, 15.5 SwStr% | 1.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP
      • This Week: 6 2/3 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
      • Notes: Salas showed some strong swing and miss stuff last year, but this year is really putting things together.
      • Season: 34 IP | 26.5 K-BB%, 16.8 SwStr% | 3.71 ERA, 1.15 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
      • Notes: Kennedy doesn’t have much heat from the left side, but he has a solid pitch mix and some good command.
      • Season: 35 1/3 IP | 41.5 K-BB%, 19.1 SwStr% | 1.02 ERA, 0.79 WHIP
      • This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
      • Notes: Tug Boat Wilkinson should be up in high A soon after another dominant start in A ball.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects: Complex League Hitters

      • Season: .405/.488/.811 | 9.3 BB% / 30.2 K%| 8 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
      • This Week: 7/16 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
      • Notes: Calaz has been tearing it up, but has also been striking out at an over 30% rate.
  • SS Felnin Celestin (Mariners)
      • Season: .415/.520/.683 | 18 BB% / 14 K%| 6 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
      • This Week: 8/17 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
      • Notes: Celestin is considered the best player in complex league right now, Welsh actually was able to get eyes on him and I’m jealous.
      • Season: .405/.463/.649 | 9.8 BB% / 17.1 K%| 5 XBH, 2 HR, 6 SB
      • This Week: 8/16 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 4 SB
      • Notes: Mercedes is repeating complex right now and should be up in A ball sooner, rather than later.
  • OF Eduardo Quintero (Dodgers)
      • Season: .270/.400/.541 | 13.3 BB% / 24.4 K%| 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • This Week: 7/19 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
      • Notes: Quintero had a heck of a week to put himself on the scoreboard.
