Dynasty Rookie Draft Lottery Tickets

Ja’Tavion Sanders (TE – CAR)

No dynasty lottery ticket article would be complete without a dart throw tight end. With Brock Bowers as the sole first-round pick and Ben Sinnott in the late second/early third, your fourth-round lottery pick comes down to Ja’Tavion Sanders, Theo Johnson and Erick All. Johnson has the physical attributes but lacks extensive usage as a pass-catcher. All has a strong receiving profile but is in an offense with ample weapons and a history of inconsistent usage of tight ends. Sanders has the athleticism, skillset as a receiver and an opportunistic landing spot with a new coaching staff and lack of established receiving weapons. Target Sanders as a high-upside, instant starter for Carolina.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. (RB – NYG)

Tyrone Tracy Jr. is a converted receiver who lacks depth of experience at running back but could become a valuable fantasy asset with his dual-threat ability. Before his final season, Tracy had a combined 33 carries over four years. In his final year; however, he was Purdue’s most efficient back with 113 carries for 716 yards and eight touchdowns. Tracy will need to continue to develop and must contend with Devin Singletary — a back with a knack for dominating committee backfields. The Giants’ backfield lacks depth and Tracy could immediately contend for touches in 2024.

Brenden Rice (WR – LAC)

2023’s breakout rookie was Puka Nacua. While his talent is the primary reason for his success, don’t underestimate the value of landing with a team where you will get immediate snaps. For Nacua, the Rams had no established WR2 and Cooper Kupp missed the beginning of the season with an injury. Nacua stepped in as the WR1 and never looked back. Brenden Rice doesn’t step into the exact same opportunity but there is room for his emergence. Josh Palmer is in the last year of his contract. Quentin Johnston struggled to make an impact in 2023 and is on the verge of being labeled a bust. Ladd McConkey has a strong path to the Chargers’ WR1 role but don’t underestimate the opportunity for Rice.
