Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (4/9)
Devin Booker (G – PHX): 7.5 1st quarter points
Booker has been less aggressive in the first quarter over his last couple of games, scoring five or fewer points in each of his last two. However, with a date with the Los Angeles Clippers on tap, Book should come out firing. There, of course, is always the risk of Kevin Durant deciding he has to take over to start the game, but more often than not, at least recently, KD has been fine letting his fellow superstar running mate eat. Booker has scored 10 or more first quarter points in six of his last nine games. Booker leads the NBA with 11 first quarter points per game over that stretch. Bump the More on Booker for Tuesday night.
Pick: More
Pascal Siakam (F – IND): 22.5 points
Pascal is set to take on his former team on Tuesday night, something that all but guarantees another high-volume night from the field. Siakam scored 22 and 27 points against the Raptors this season on 17 and 22 shots. Tyrese Halliburton will certainly make a point to make sure Siakam has a big night in Toronto, so at least 23 points is well within reach, especially with no Scottie Barnes on defense. Siakam has scored more than 22 points just once in his last three games, but this is an opponent/revenge game play. Push the More on Pascal for Tuesday night basketball.
Pick: More
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 5.5 1st quarter points
Cade is dealing with a knee injury that has sidelined him for three straight, but if he hits the court tonight, he is a value at 5.5. Cade has poured six or more first quarter points in 11 of his last 13 games. Both games he failed to hit the mark in came against the Miami Heat. Expect Cade to look to set the tone for the Pistons early in tonight’s contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. Clap the More on Cade for Tuesday night basketball.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
