Top 6 NFL Draft Burning Questions (2024 Fantasy Football)

We are just days away from the NFL Draft and so many questions remain. This is the time when we hear rumors ramp up about what teams want to do, who they want and what could happen. These reports are like the Loch Ness Monster.

With a few quarterback prospects many believe could lead a franchise, we could see a frenzy within the first few picks. Let’s look at that and more with these NFL Draft burning questions.

2024 NFL Draft Burning Questions

What order are the quarterbacks going after Caleb Williams?

At this point, we know Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall is happening. After that, we have no clue. Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels and J.J. McCarthy are the next three we believe could go early in the draft. We’re still not sure in what order. Those guys have been predicted to go in various spots in the top five.

Will we see a team trade up for a quarterback?

With the top quarterbacks projected to go early, there are teams lower on the draft board that need a franchise quarterback and could make a move. Minnesota, Denver and Las Vegas, who are drafting at 11, 12 and 13, respectively, are prime candidates to make that trade.

We’re eyeing Arizona at four and the Los Angeles Chargers as two teams that don’t need a quarterback, who, for the right price, could move down.

Could a fifth quarterback get taken in the first round?

We don’t doubt the four quarterbacks we’ve mentioned will be taken in the first round, but could more make it to Day 1?

Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr. are being talked about as two guys a team could trade up from later rounds into the first to find their new quarterback. This could be an option for some QB-needy teams that couldn’t trade up to get one of the prime prospects.

Penix Jr. has big-throw ability, but some question his accuracy, and he will enter the league at 24 years old. While Bo Nix is a playmaker with his legs, he hasn’t shown much ability with his arm, and Oregon tailored the offense to his assets.

Will teams ignore those issues and grab one of them on Thursday?

What current NFL players could be moved on Draft Day?

In the last couple of years, we’ve seen notable players traded on Thursday: Marquise Brown to Arizona and A.J. Brown and D’Andre Swift to Philadelphia are some recent examples. Could we see it happen again?

There have been rumors Brandon Aiyuk‘s time in San Fransisco could be done, so they could use him to find a new rookie receiver. The Bengals franchise tagged Tee Higgins but they could decide to ship him if there’s doubt about signing him long term.

What’s more important to the Cardinals and Chargers?

As mentioned, Arizona and the Chargers have draft spots that teams needing a quarterback want. They could ignore them because they have needs they can fill in those spots.

The primary position for both is wide receiver. According to some draft experts, there are a couple of can’t-miss top-10 prospects.

Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze could be the top option for either Kyler Murray or Justin Herbert on Day 1. The Cardinals and Chargers have to ask themselves if they want to go that route or look later for other options as they accumulate more picks.

Who is the best wide receiver after Marvin Harrison Jr., Rome Odunze and Malik Nabers?

How good are the other wide receiver prospects that Arizona or the Chargers wouldn’t mind trading down to acquire?

Adonai Mitchell, Brian Thomas Jr., Ladd McConkey and Troy Franklin are other receivers experts like. They don’t check off all the boxes like the top three, but can they develop into top receivers?
