Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (4/25)
Tyrese Maxey (G – PHI): 5.5 1st quarter points
Maxey remains locked in as a first quarter tone setter, scoring seven or more first quarter points in both games of this series. Maxey is no stranger to first quarter outbursts, but it is even more impressive to see now that Joel Embiid is back in the lineup. The 76ers are getting little help from the others, so it is going to be on Embiid and Maxey to score early and often and to continue to carry the team throughout the game. Tap the More on Tyrese for Game 3.
Pick: More
Michael Porter Jr. (F – DEN): 3.5 1st quarter points
MPJ got back on track in Game 2, scoring eight first quarter points. He is still set at a forgiving 3.5, so tap this number while it lasts. MPJ has been locked in to start games during the second half of the season, most recently scoring four or more points in nine of his last 13 games. Porter Jr. first quarter points has been one of the hottest plays in the league since the all star break. Mash the More on MPJ for Game 3.
Pick: More
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): 7.5 1st quarter points
Donovan has been scorching hot in his most recent first quarters, dropping 10 first quarter points in Game 1 and 14 in Game 2. Including the end of the regular season, Mitchell has poured in 10 or more first quarter points in four straight games. The Cavaliers look to have the momentum, but as the series shifts to Orlando, Mitchell will need to help ensure the Cavs start strong and avoid giving the Magic a chance to get back into the series. Mash the More on Mitchell for Thursday night basketball.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
