Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Reynaldo Lopez (ATL) at SEA
Reynaldo Lopez has made a seamless transition from relieving back to starting. According to FanGraphs, Lopez has the lowest ERA (0.72) and xERA (2.62) among tonight's probable starters. Additionally, in four starts spanning 25.0 innings this season, he has a 3.67 SIERA, 0.88 WHIP, 8.7 BB%, 26.1 K%, 26.2 CSW%, 97 Stuff+, 99 Location+ and 97 Pitching+. His marks aren't perfect, but they're rock-solid or better.
Lopez has a good matchup and superb betting info. This season, the Mariners are 17th in wRC+ (97) and have a 29.5 K% against righties. They're also 20th in wRC+ (93) and have a 29.8 K% at home. Finally, the Braves are -130, and the game's total is 7.0 runs.
Logan Webb (SF) at BOS
Logan Webb is a monster at home, but he's not the same beast on the road. Nevertheless, in 121.0 innings on the road since last season, the righty's 3.15 xFIP is much better than his 4.31 ERA, and his 1.21 WHIP, 4.2 BB%, 21.8 K% and 57.6 GB% are stellar marks. In six starts totaling 38.2 innings this year, Webb has a 2.33 ERA, 4.28 xERA, 3.34 SIERA, 1.11 WHIP, 4.6 BB%, 17.0 K%, 59.7 GB%, 28.9 CSW%, 116 Stuff+, 102 Location+ and 109 Pitching+.
The Red Sox have an above-average offense against righties. Yet, they're 24th in wRC+ (85) and have a 25.5 K% at home this year. Thus, the Giants are -130, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.
Cole Ragans (KC) at TOR
Cole Ragans has a challenging matchup, and his betting info is mixed. Unfortunately, the Royals are +110, making them a slight underdog. The game's total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs, though.
Ragans's primary reason for being included among tonight's suggested pitchers is his excellent numbers relative to his bargain salary. In six starts spanning 30.0 innings this season, the lefty has a 3.90 ERA, 3.67 xERA, 3.32 SIERA, 1.43 WHIP, 7.5 BB%, 27.8 K%, 29.4 CSW%, 110 Stuff+, 100 Location+ and 102 Pitching+. Ragans is also a road warrior. In 61.1 innings on the road since last season, Ragans has had a 3.08 ERA, 3.49 xFIP, 1.11 WHIP, 10.8 BB% and 30.8 K%. He's a high-ceiling, GPP choice tonight.
Jon Gray (TEX) vs. WSH
Jon Gray is in a groove. In his previous four appearances (three starts and once in relief), he's had a 1.56 ERA, 1.99 xFIP, 1.04 WHIP, 7.1 BB%, 38.6 K% and 30.6 CSW% in 17.1 innings. In addition to his recent sparkling numbers, Gray has eye-catching betting info. The Rangers are -156, and the game's total is 8.5 runs. As a result, Gray is an intriguing GPP selection at his bargain salary.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
- Road (Guaranteed Rate Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.0 Runs/MIN -166
The Twins have a cushy matchup tonight. This season, Michael Soroka's 7.26 xERA and 6.14 SIERA are the highest among tonight's probable pitchers. Additionally, his -3.0 K-BB% and 2.17 HR/9 are the worst. He's a punching bag. Since last season, lefties have had a .378 wOBA against Soroka, and righties have had a .406 wOBA. The Twins should tee off tonight.
- Road (Fenway Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.5 Runs/SF -130
San Francisco's hitters will receive a park factor boost at Fenway Park tonight. The park has the second-highest park factor for runs (1.170) and enhances all hit types. Furthermore, Cooper Criswell's low strikeout rate leaves him at the mercy of batted balls and his hitter-friendly ballpark. Finally, since last season, Criswell has allowed a .379 wOBA to lefties and a .322 wOBA to righties.
Core Studs
- William Contreras is a lefty killer. In 351 plate appearances against lefties since 2021, Contreras has hit 17 homers with a .420 OBP, .252 ISO and 173 wRC+.
- Since 2021, Michael Conforto has had a .347 OBP, .175 ISO and 112 wRC+ against righties.
- In 443 career plate appearances against righties, Edouard Julien has hit 22 homers with a .387 OBP, .239 ISO and 150 wRC+.
Value Plays/Punts
- Trevor Larnach is an above-average hitter against righties and has a DFS-friendly lineup position, projected to slot in the cleanup spot tonight.
- In 547 plate appearances against righties on the road since 2021, LaMonte Wade has had a .371 OBP, .161 ISO and 120 wRC+.
- After ripping his fourth homer of the season last night, Jo Adell has a .373 OBP, .302 ISO and 179 wRC+ in 59 plate appearances.

William Contreras: 8.0 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog Fantasy)
William Contreras: 7.0 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
Contreras is a holdover from the core studs. In addition to killing lefties, he's tearing the cover off the ball. In 129 plate appearances this year, Contreras has hit five homers and stolen two bases with a .426 OBP, .196 ISO and 173 wRC+. Conversely, Tyler Alexander has allowed a .335 wOBA to 196 right-handed batters since last season.
Jo Adell: 0.5 Total Bases - Higher/More
Adell is a carryover from the values/punts. The light has gone on for him this season. Adell has a .321 batting average and a palatable 23.7 K% this season. He's recorded a hit in three straight games and seven of his past eight games.
Michael Soroka: 4.0 Strikeouts - Lower
Soroka is a train wreck and doesn't miss any bats. In six starts spanning 29.0 innings this year, he has more walks (17) than strikeouts (13). Soroka has a 5.7 SwStr% and 22.9 CSW%. Soroka has struck out fewer than four batters four times this year, and his season high for strikeouts is four.
