Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings

Pablo Lopez (MIN) vs. CHW
Pablo Lopez is the top pitching choice on a stacked pitching slate. First, the Twins are -260, and the game's total is only 7.5 runs. Second, Lopez has stellar underlying data.

According to FanGraphs, in four starts spanning 22.2 innings this season, Lopez has a 3.97 ERA, 3.04 xERA, 3.18 SIERA, 0.97 WHIP, 4.5 BB%, 25.8 K%, 30.5 CSW%, 104 Stuff+, 101 Location+ and 104 Pitching+. Third, Lopez has a cupcake to feast on tonight. Chris Paddack carved up the White Sox last night. Chicago is last in wRC+ (66) versus righties this year.

Lopez will be chalky, even on a slate with high-end pitching alternatives. Nevertheless, he's a no-brainer pick in cash games and a high-ceiling GPP choice.

Grayson Rodriguez (BAL) at LAA
Grayson Rodriguez has an ideal combination of production and pitch modeling. In four starts spanning 24.0 innings this season, Rodriguez has a 2.63 ERA, 3.45 xERA, 3.42 SIERA, 1.17 WHIP, 8.2 BB%, 27.8 K%, 29.6 CSW%, 116 Stuff+, 105 Location+ and 109 Pitching+.

The young righty also has a good matchup and favorable betting info. The Angels are 19th in wRC+ (92) and have a 23.6 K% against righties this year. They're also tied for 17th in wRC+ (99) and have a 23.4 K% at home this season. In addition, the Orioles are -155, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.

Logan Webb (SF) vs. NYM

Logan Webb is a monster at home. In 125.2 innings in San Francisco since last year, he's had a 2.15 ERA, 2.82 xFIP, 0.97 WHIP, 65.2 GB%, 3.3 BB% and 22.6 K%. Webb's elite numbers at home also pre-date last year. So, it's not a small-sample fluke.

The Mets aren't a pushover, but they don't have a world-beater offense, either. As a result, the Giants are -155, and the game's total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs.

The Braves are nightmare fuel for left-handed pitchers. Six of their projected hitters have had at least a 101 wRC+ against lefties since 2021, and five have had at least a 125 wRC+. Additionally, six batters have had at least a .207 ISO against southpaws since 2021.

The matchup is also decent. In 63.2 innings on the road since 2022, Trevor Rogers has had a 4.95 ERA, 4.62 xFIP and 1.49 WHIP.

• Game Total/Moneyline: 7.5 Runs/MIN -260

The Twins scored seven runs last night and can smash again tonight. Erick Fedde's 5.29 xERA this season is the fourth-highest among tonight's probable starters. Chicago's bullpen's 3.81 ERA this year is misleading. They have the second-highest xFIP (4.90). Minnesota's salaries are too low for such a tasty matchup.

Core Studs

• Travis d'Arnaud has a track record of success against lefties. However, his heater is the primary reason for including him in this section. In his past 13 plate appearances, d'Arnaud has launched five homers with one single and two walks.
• In 229 plate appearances against lefties since 2021, Orlando Arcia has hit 10 homers with a .354 OBP, .204 ISO and 125 wRC+.
• Michael Busch hit like a middle-of-the-order batter in Triple-A last year but couldn't carry his success with him to the majors. The light has flipped on this season with the Cubs. In 78 plate appearances in 2024, he's slugged six homers with a .385 OBP, .309 ISO and 172 wRC+.

Value Plays/Punts

• Trevor Larnach was successful as a punt last night and can succeed again tonight. Since 2021, he's had a .331 OBP, .182 ISO and 109 wRC+ against righties.
• It's Heston Kjerstad time tonight. The Orioles have summoned him from the minors after he mashed 10 taters and tallied a .431 OBP, .395 ISO and 189 wRC+ in 102 plate appearances in Triple-A to begin this year.
• Since debuting in the majors last year, Edouard Julien has made 421 plate appearances against righties, hitting 19 homers with a .381 OBP, .218 ISO and 140 wRC+.

Ronald Acuna: 9.0 Fantasy Points - Higher (PrizePicks)

The Braves are the top featured stack tonight, and Ronald Acuna is atop Atlanta's lineup, putting him in a prime position to score fantasy points. In 382 plate appearances against lefties since 2021, Acuna has hit 17 homers with a .387 OBP, .206 ISO and 136 wRC+. He's also stolen 10 bases this year. Finally, the 131 righties who've aced Rogers since last season have had a .334 wOBA.

Austin Riley: 7.5 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog Fantasy)

Austin Riley: 7.0 Fantasy Points - Higher (PrizePicks)

In 498 plate appearances against lefties since 2021, Austin Riley has hit 26 homers with a .361 OBP, .258 ISO and 144 wRC+. He hits in the heart of Atlanta's order, and his over for fantasy points correlate with Acuna's.

Logan Webb: 30.5 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog Fantasy)

Logan Webb: 31.5 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)

I highlighted Webb's home dominance above. In addition to his sterling ERA and ERA estimators, he's chewed up innings at home. He's pitched at least 6.0 innings in 17 of his previous 18 home starts, tossing at least 7.0 innings 11 times.
