Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Friday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Corbin Burnes (BAL) vs. OAK
Corbin Burnes is pitching well in his first season for the Orioles. According to FanGraphs, in five starts spanning 29.1 innings, he has a 2.76 ERA, 2.76 xERA, 3.13 SIERA, 0.92 WHIP, 4.4 BB%, 25.4 K%, 29.7 CSW%, 118 Stuff+, 107 Location+ and 111 Pitching+. Those are ace numbers.
The Orioles are -285, and the game's total is 7.5 runs. The matchup is also tantalizing. The Athletics are 28th in wRC+ (81) and have a 28.4 K% versus righties this year. Thus, Burnes is the top pitching option in all game types at both DFS outlets tonight.
Zach Eflin (TB) at CWS
Zach Eflin has two messy starts in five turns this year. However, he's spun 12.1 scoreless innings in his previous two starts and allowed one run or less three times this season. He's also struck out five, five, five, five and six batters in five starts, setting a relatively high floor.
Eflin has a tasty cupcake to gobble up tonight. The White Sox are 30th in wRC+ (65) against righties this season, 14 points worse than the second-worst team. The Rays are -230, and the game's total is an unthreatening 8.0 runs. Eflin is a superb pick in all game types at both providers.
Jesus Luzardo (MIA) vs. WSH
Jesus Luzardo's 6.58 ERA in five starts this season is a reason for pause. Still, in 166.0 innings at home since 2022, he's had a 3.58 ERA, 3.62 xFIP, 1.14 WHIP, 7.8 BB% and 28.5 K%. The young lefty has an ideal matchup tonight.
The Nationals are 27th in wRC+ (64) and have a 22.8 K% against lefties this season. Miami is also -170, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.
Kyle Harrison (SF) vs. PIT
In the small sample of 30.1 career innings at home, Kyle Harrison has had a 3.56 ERA, 3.89 xFIP, 1.12 WHIP, 6.2 BB% and 27.9 K%. He doesn't have flawless pitch modeling or plate discipline numbers. Regardless, Harrison was sharp in the minors and has flashed in the majors.
The young lefty's matchup tonight is a mixed bag. This year, the Pirates are 12th in wRC+ (104) against lefties but have a 26.3 K%. They're also tied for 14th in wRC+ (98) and have a 26.3 K% on the road. Finally, the Giants are -150, and the game's total is a pitcher-friendly 8.0 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
- Home (Oriole Park at Camden Yards)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 7.5 Runs/BAL -285
Baltimore has a Charmin-soft matchup tonight. In five starts this season, Ross Stripling has a 5.34 ERA, albeit with a 3.88 xERA and 4.31 SIERA. Nonetheless, the veteran also had a 5.36 ERA in 89.0 seasons in 2023. Moreover, Stripling has coughed up a .356 wOBA to lefties and a .349 wOBA to righties since 2023. Baltimore's deep and talented lineup can smash him.
- Home (Truist Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.0 Runs/ATL -210
The Braves are a GPP-centric stack because their hitters have high salaries and paying a premium for pitchers is preferable. Still, their ceiling is massive. If Ozzie Albies is activated from the injured list tonight, the lineup will feature six hitters who've had at least a 122 wRC+ against lefties since 2022. Meanwhile, in five starts this year, Logan Allen has a 506 ERA, 4.25 xERA and 4.31 SIERA.
Core Studs
- Gunnar Henderson has made the most of the platoon advantage at home. In 315 career plate appearances against righties at home, he's had a .346 OBP, .271 ISO and 152 wRC+.
- The switch-hitting Adley Rutschman has also smashed against righties at home. In 424 career plate appearances against righties in Baltimore, he's had a .392 OBP, .182 ISO and 150 wRC+.
Value Plays/Punts
- Jose Miranda is a cheap lefty killer. In 183 career plate appearances against lefties, he's had a .301 OBP, .214 ISO and 120 wRC+.
- Heston Kjerstad was a monster in Triple-A. In 439 plate appearances at that level, he had a .385 OBP, .244 ISO and 133 wRC+. Kjerstad has had a .212 ISO in 36 plate appearances against righties for the Orioles.
- Luis Arraez is a steal at FD and a fine pick at DK. In 1,385 plate appearances against righties since 2021, he's had a .387 OBP, .106 ISO and 131 wRC+.
- LaMonte Wade is a lineup-spot-driven punt. However, he's also done well with the platoon advantage at home. In 513 plate appearances against righties at home since 2021, Wade has had a .350 OBP, .235 ISO and 135 wRC+.

Gunnar Henderson: 8.0 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog Fantasy)
Gunnar Henderson: 8.5 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
In addition to Henderson's hitting exploits at home against righties, he's tearing the cover off the ball this season. In 110 plate appearances this year, Henderson has hit eight homers with 20 runs, 20 RBI, five stolen bases, a .373 OBP, .340 ISO and 192 wRC+.
Adley Rutschman: 7.0 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog Fantasy)
Adley Rutschman: 7.5 Fantasy Points - More (PrizePicks)
Rutschman is another carryover from the core studs. His fantasy scoring correlates with Henderson's, adding to the appeal of using them together on cards at PrizePicks and Underdog. In 106 plate appearances this season, the switch-hitting catcher has a .368 OBP and 134 wRC+. Finally, Stripling has served up a .356 wOBA to lefties since last season.
Jose Miranda: 6.5 Fantasy Points - Higher (Underdog Fantasy)
Jose Miranda: 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs - More (PrizePicks)
I noted Miranda's stellar numbers against lefties in the values/punts section. Furthermore, Patrick Sandoval has allowed a .336 wOBA to righties since last season. The weather is also hitter-friendly. According to Kevin Roth, the winds are blowing out to right-center at 10-15 mph.
