Fantasy Baseball Injury News
Spencer Strider undergoing MRI on pitching elbow
Spencer Strider was experiencing discomfort in his pitching elbow after the game on Friday and is going for an MRI on Saturday. (Source: David O’Brien on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Strider wasn’t at his best on Friday as his velocity was down more than a mile-per-hour and this news provides us with a reason. With injuries to high-end pitchers starting to pile up, this is the last thing fantasy managers want to see. We should know more when they get the test results.
Snitker: “He came in and he was complaining about his elbow, so he’s going to get an MRI in the morning, we’ll find out what’s going on.”
“He was kind of uncomfortable with how it was feeling. They examined him, and they’re going to get more with that MRI tomorrow.”

Trevor Story leaves game early with shoulder injury Friday
Trevor Story appeared to hurt his shoulder while diving for a ground ball in the fourth inning of Friday’s game versus the Los Angeles Angels. He was replaced by Pablo Reyes. (Source: FOX Sports on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: This is a tough blow for Story whose Red Sox tenure has been plagued by injuries. He was immediately in pain after hitting the ground and is likely going for testing. If he is to miss significant time, Pablo Reyes could see regular starts at shortstop. Other options for shortstop are Vaughn Grissom (currently on the IL with a hamstring injury) and Ceddanne Rafaela, though the Red Sox would likely prefer to keep Rafaela patrolling CF as often as possible.
