The only teams that should target running backs in dynasty are the ones that can win it all this season. If you’re still rebuilding or aren’t sure of where you stand, you should spend time focusing elsewhere. Instead, if you’re pushing your chips in and have a shot to win it all, here are some running backs to target at various price ranges.

Dynasty Trade Targets
The top of running back rankings, in some order, feature four studs: Bijan Robinson, Christian McCaffrey, Jahmyr Gibbs and Breece Hall. I’m fine calling that the top tier. But the next batch of backs all have question marks for most managers.
Jonathan Taylor was a potential RB1 option a year or two ago, but he’s approaching that age cliff pretty quickly on a team with a wide range of outcomes. Kyren Williams stood out last year, but the Rams could draft a running back that would eat into his upside. De’Vone Achane is a beast but Raheem Mostert re-signed and will once again eat into Achane’s carries.
None of this is to say I’m worried about any of these guys, but your league mates might be. This is where the discount comes in. If you can get one of these Tier 2 RBs for any sort of discount, go for it. All three should be set-it-and-forget-it players in your lineup barring injury. That’s the kind of running back that’s fine paying top dollar for in today’s market.
