2024 NFL Mock Draft With Trades: Mike Fanelli (5.0)

The NFL Draft is less than two weeks away, and the rumor mill is on fire. Therefore, it’s the perfect time for another mock draft.

Let’s dive into my fifth NFL mock draft of the year. This mock draft is a two-rounder and contains 12 potential trades, including two in the top 10 picks.

2024 NFL Mock Draft With Trades: Mike Fanelli (5.0)

ROUND 1

1) Chicago Bears (via Carolina) – Caleb Williams (QB – USC)

Williams will be the first-overall pick in the NFL Draft. The only question the Bears must answer is whether he, Keenan Allen, or Tyler Scott get to wear No. 13.

2) Washington Commanders – Jayden Daniels (QB – LSU)

The Commanders will consider all three of the top quarterbacks not named Caleb Williams with this pick. However, Daniels is the betting favorite and likely pick by Washington.

3) New England Patriots – Drake Maye (QB – UNC)

New England will take a quarterback with this pick. If Jayden Daniels is off the board, the Patriots could go with Maye or J.J. McCarthy. While the former Michigan star’s draft stock has skyrocketed over the past few months, it’s hard to believe New England would pass on Maye.

4) Arizona Cardinals – Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – Ohio State)

While the Cardinals could trade this pick to the Minnesota Vikings for a bounty of draft capital, the team has 11 selections this year. Therefore, they pass on an offer to move down and select the top wide receiver in college football over the past two seasons.

Minnesota Vikings receive pick 5. Los Angeles Chargers receive picks 11, 23, and 2025 first-rounder.

5) Minnesota Vikings (via Chargers) – J.J. McCarthy (QB – Michigan)

Mock drafts have become redundant, with most having the Vikings trading into the top five. However, the only way to guarantee a top-four quarterback is for Minnesota to trade ahead of the New York Giants, who are picking at sixth overall.

6) New York Giants – Malik Nabers (WR – LSU)

If a quarterback falls in New York’s lap, they will draft him. However, that seems unlikely, given how desperate the Vikings are to move up for a quarterback. Instead of reaching for a quarterback, the Giants help Daniel Jones by finally giving him a legitimate No. 1 pass catcher.

7) Tennessee Titans – Joe Alt (OT – Notre Dame)

The Titans could draft a wide receiver in the first round despite signing Calvin Ridley in free agency. However, the offensive line remains a massive problem. Tennessee can add an impact wide receiver in the second round, making Alt a slam-dunk pick.

8) Atlanta Falcons – Byron Murphy II (DL – Texas)

Most mock drafts have the Falcons taking an edge rusher with their first-round pick. Head coach Raheem Morris saw Aaron Donald’s impact on the Los Angeles Rams defense over the past several years. While Murphy won’t be Donald 2.0, the former Longhorn is the top defensive lineman in the draft class. Furthermore, Grady Jarrett is on the wrong side of 30 and could be a cap casualty after the 2024 season.

9) Chicago Bears – Rome Odunze (WR – Washington)

While the Bears traded a fourth-round pick for Keenan Allen, the veteran has only one year left on his contract and might not be around past the 2024 season. Pairing Odunze with D.J. Moore would give Caleb Williams two talented receivers to grow with over the next several years.

Indianapolis Colts receive picks 10, 134. The New York Jets receive picks 15 and 46.

10) Indianapolis Colts (via Jets) – Brock Bowers (TE – Georgia)

Reportedly, the Colts love Bowers and have considered trading up for him, especially with several potentially tight end-needy teams picking ahead of them. Meanwhile, the Jets would love to trade back and acquire a Day 2 pick.

11) Los Angeles Chargers (via Vikings) – Taliese Fuaga (OT – Oregon State)

Head coach Jim Harbaugh wants to run the ball. Whether the Chargers trade back or stick at fifth overall, expect them to take an offensive tackle. Fuaga earned the highest run-blocking grade of any offensive tackle in the draft class last season.

12) Denver Broncos – Bo Nix (QB – Oregon)

Ideally, the Broncos would like to trade back and add draft capital before selecting Nix. However, with division rival Las Vegas Raiders picking one spot behind them, Sean Payton doesn’t risk trading back and grabs the former Oregon star.

13) Las Vegas Raiders – JC Latham (OT – Alabama)

While the Raiders could take a quarterback with this pick, they signed Gardner Minshew in free agency as a stop-gap option. Head coach Antonio Pierce wants to run the ball. Latham would slide in at right tackle and be a force in the run game.

14) New Orleans Saints – Olumuyiwa Fashanu (OT – Penn State)

The Saints are almost forced into taking an offensive tackle with their first-round pick. Trevor Penning hasn’t worked out as a former first-round pick. Meanwhile, Ryan Ramczyk’s career is in jeopardy because of knee injuries.

15) New York Jets (via Colts) – Troy Fautanu (OL – Washington)

New York slides back, adding a Day 2 pick, and still lands one of the top offensive line prospects in the draft class. Fautanu can play multiple spots on the offensive line, giving the Jets options when Tyron Smith and others inevitably miss time with injuries this season.

Carolina Panthers receive pick 16. Seattle Seahawks receive picks 33 and 39.

16) Carolina Panthers (via Seahawks) – Brian Thomas Jr. (WR – LSU)

Despite trading for Diontae Johnson this offseason, the Panthers could make a blockbuster move at wide receiver. They flip the Seahawks their two early second-round picks to jump ahead of several wide receiver-needy teams for the former LSU star.

17) Jacksonville Jaguars – Jer’Zhan Newton (DL – Illinois)

While the Jaguars added Arik Armstead in free agency, he turns 31 in November. More importantly, Jacksonville has done homework on the defensive line class and reportedly loves Newton.

18) Cincinnati Bengals – Xavier Worthy (WR – Texas)

Tee Higgins recently said he expects to play in Cincinnati this upcoming season. However, will he be there in 2025? The Bengals have a history of drafting blazing-fast wide receivers. They keep that trend going this year. Worthy would be the perfect complement for Ja’Marr Chase if Higgins isn’t in Cincinnati past this year.

19) Los Angeles Rams – Dallas Turner (EDGE – Alabama)

Thanks to the run of offensive linemen, wide receivers, and defensive linemen, Turner falls into the Rams’ lap. Despite having the top two sack producers from the 2023 draft class, Los Angeles gives new defensive coordinator Chris Shula a No. 1 caliber edge rusher.

The San Francisco 49ers receive picks 20 and 51. Pittsburgh Steelers receive pick 94, Brandon Aiyuk.

20) San Francisco 49ers (via Steelers) – Adonai Mitchell (WR – Texas)

There were multiple rumors and reports this past weekend about Aiyuk requesting a trade from the 49ers. While his agent publicly denied those reports, that doesn’t mean the star receiver won’t get traded. The Steelers have been linked to Aiyuk for weeks. Meanwhile, San Francisco drafts his replacement with the first of two picks they get from Pittsburgh in this mock draft.

Green Bay Packers receive pick 21. Miami Dolphins receive picks 41, 58, 126.

21) Green Bay Packers (via Dolphins) – Cooper DeJean (DB – Iowa)

Miami has only six draft picks this year and several holes on the roster. Meanwhile, Green Bay has 11 selections and limited needs. The Packers flip the Dolphins both second-round picks and a fourth-rounder to get a second first-round selection. DeJean has a significant chance of being the first cornerback drafted after an impressive private Pro Day performance.

22) Philadelphia Eagles – Quinyon Mitchell (CB – Toledo)

While the Eagles haven’t invested early draft picks at the cornerback position lately, that could change this year. Darius Slayton and James Bradberry had rocky 2023 seasons and aren’t getting any younger. If Mitchell slides this far on draft night, there is no way Philadelphia won’t draft him.

23) Los Angeles Chargers (via Vikings, Houston, Cleveland) – Terrion Arnold (CB – Alabama)

Everyone in the fantasy football community will scream if the Chargers trade back, acquire two first-round picks, and still don’t take a wide receiver. However, Jim Harbaugh has all but publicly stated that he doesn’t consider the wide receiver position a massive need. Meanwhile, Asante Samuel Jr. is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and the rest of the cornerback unit is underwhelming.

24) Dallas Cowboys – Jackson Powers-Johnson (C – Oregon)

The Cowboys lost two starting offensive linemen in free agency. While Tyler Smith can move out to left tackle to replace Tyron Smith, Dallas doesn’t have a clear-cut replacement for Tyler Biadasz on the roster. The team has shown significant interest in Powers-Johnson and has had success with first-round centers in the past.

25) Green Bay Packers – Amarius Mims (OT – Georgia)

Mims would likely have been a top-10 pick if he had another year of starting experience on his resume. While Rasheed Walker did well filling in for David Bakhtiari at left tackle, Green Bay should use an early-round pick to improve Jordan Love’s protection. Mims could spend a year as a swing tackle before taking over as a starter in 2025 if needed.

26) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Nate Wiggins (CB – Clemson)

Tampa Bay traded Carlton Davis to the Detroit Lions earlier this offseason, creating a massive hole at cornerback opposite Jamel Dean. While some will have concerns about Wiggins’ ability to tackle given his lighter frame, the former Clemson star is arguably the top cover cornerback in the draft class.

Chicago Bears receive pick 27. Arizona Cardinals receive pick 75, two 2025 second-rounders.

27) Chicago Bears (via Cardinals, Houston) – Jared Verse (EDGE – Florida State)

Don’t be surprised if the Cardinals are the most active trade team during the NFL Draft this year. They have 11 picks in 2024 but only six in 2025. Meanwhile, the Bears have two second-round picks next year – one from the Panthers and their own. After plugging their holes at quarterback and wide receiver, Chicago trades both second-round picks next year and a third-rounder to land Verse. Pairing him alongside Montez Sweat will give opposing quarterbacks nightmares.

28) Buffalo Bills – Laiatu Latu (EDGE – UCLA)

While the Bills have a massive hole at the wide receiver position after trading away Stefon Diggs earlier this month, they can’t pass up the value in Latu. Von Miller has been a massive bust since joining the team. Meanwhile, Buffalo lost their top sack producer to free agency after Leonard Floyd signed with the 49ers.

29) Detroit Lions – Chop Robinson (EDGE – Penn State)

Aidan Hutchinson is one of the top edge rushers in the NFL despite only heading into his third season. Yet, the rest of Detroit’s edge rusher unit hasn’t done much to help him. Despite signing Marcus Davenport to a one-year deal in free agency, expect the Lions to pick an edge rusher early in the NFL Draft.

30) Baltimore Ravens – Tyler Guyton (OT – Oklahoma)

The Ravens lost three starters on their offensive line this offseason, including right tackle Morgan Moses. More importantly, Ronnie Stanley is entering the final year of his contract and has struggled to stay healthy. If anyone can get Guyton to reach his ceiling, it’s Baltimore.

31) San Francisco 49ers – Kool-Aid McKinstry (CB – Alabama)

San Francisco has had an impressive defense the past few years despite having multiple defensive coordinators. However, they need help in the secondary. Charvarius Ward, Ambry Thomas, and Deommodore Lenoir are free agents after the upcoming season, potentially leaving the 49ers with no starting cornerback on the roster come the 2025 offseason.

32) Kansas City Chiefs – Graham Barton (OL – Duke)

Many had never heard of Nick Allegretti until he played through a torn UCL in his elbow during the Super Bowl for Kansas City. However, he signed with the Commanders in free agency, striking a blow to the Chiefs’ offensive line depth. Barton can play multiple spots on the offensive line. The rookie could replace Creed Humphrey or Trey Smith in 2025 if either leaves in free agency.

ROUND 2

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Las Vegas Raiders receive picks 33, 192. Seattle Seahawks receive picks 44, 77.

33) Las Vegas Raiders (via Seahawks, Panthers) – Michael Penix Jr. (QB – Washington)

While the Raiders likely pass on a quarterback with the 13th overall selection, don’t be surprised if they trade back into the first round or to the top of the second round to grab one. Penix would be a clear-cut first-round pick if not for his injury history. Meanwhile, Seattle continues to move back and add Day 2 capital after having only one pick heading into the draft.

34) New England Patriots – Ladd McConkey (WR – Georgia)

The Patriots have had awful luck drafting wide receivers in recent memory. However, McConkey’s elite route-running abilities are exactly what the team needs to break that streak and give Drake Maye a go-to weapon.

35) Arizona Cardinals – Darius Robinson (EDGE – Missouri)

Arizona added multiple defensive linemen in free agency. However, they didn’t sign a single edge rusher despite seeing Dennis Gardeck be the only Cardinal with more than four sacks in 2023. Expect them to use one of their top 35 picks on an edge rusher.

36) Washington Commanders – Jordan Morgan (OT – Arizona)

There wasn’t a team more active in free agency than the Commanders, signing over 20 new players. However, they released former starting left tackle Charles Leno Jr. but didn’t sign anyone to replace him. Unless Washington has high expectations for last year’s fourth-round pick, Braeden Daniels, expect them to draft a left tackle with one of their two second-round selections.

37) Los Angeles Chargers – Troy Franklin (WR – Oregon)

Finally! The Chargers give Justin Herbert a weapon after getting rid of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this offseason. Hopefully, Franklin can be an impactful No. 1 wide receiver as a rookie.

Buffalo Bills receive pick 38. Tennessee Titans receive pick 60, 2025 second-rounder.

38) Buffalo Bills (via Titans) – Xavier Legette (WR – South Carolina)

After trading away Stefon Diggs and losing Gabe Davis in free agency this offseason, the Bills must pick a wide receiver early in the NFL Draft. Instead of hoping an impact wide receiver falls in their lap, Buffalo uses the 2025 second-round pick they got from the Houston Texans in the Diggs trade to move up and secure Legette.

39) Seattle Seahawks (via Panthers, New York) – Zach Frazier (C – West Virginia)

Seattle moved back twice and still lands a potential first-round prospect at a position of need. The Seahawks lost all three starting interior offensive linemen in free agency. While they added Nick Harris, Frazier would be a massive upgrade at center.

40) Washington Commanders (via Chicago) – T.J. Tampa (CB – Iowa State)

Despite spending their top two picks in the 2023 NFL Draft on defensive backs, the Commanders have a massive hole in the secondary. They lost Kendall Fuller in free agency, replacing him with a pair of one-year deal veterans. Tampa could be a first-round pick and almost certainly be Washington’s top cornerback as a rookie.

41) Miami Dolphins (via Packers, New York) – Cooper Beebe (OL – Kansas State)

The Dolphins lost Robert Hunt in free agency. While they kept Isaiah Wynn and could re-sign Connor Williams, expect them to use an early-round pick or two to improve their offensive line.

42) Houston Texans (via Minnesota) – Bralen Trice (EDGE – Washington)

While the Stefon Diggs was a blockbuster move, it wasn’t the top one made by the Texans this offseason. They added Danielle Hunter to pair with Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr. However, the depth behind them is thin, and Hunter only signed a two-year deal with Houston.

43) Atlanta Falcons – Marshawn Kneeland (EDGE – Western Michigan)

After passing on an edge rusher in the first round, the Falcons fill their need early on Day 2. Byron Murphy and Kneeland pair up with Arnold Ebiketie to give Atlanta an impressive young trio of pass rushers.

44) Seattle Seahawks (via Raiders) – Kris Jenkins (DL – Michigan)

Head coach Mike Macdonald wants to build Seattle’s defense to have a wall up front and stop the run. That means adding multiple defensive linemen to have a strong rotation, allowing everyone to stay fresh. Jenkins played for Macdonald when he was Michigan’s defensive coordinator in 2021.

45) New Orleans Saints (via Denver) – Keon Coleman (WR – Florida State)

Chris Olave is one of the more underrated players in the NFL. However, New Orleans’ receiving core outside the former Ohio State star is underwhelming. Adding Coleman would allow Rashid Shaheed to return to his ideal role as a No. 3 receiver while giving Derek Carr a go-to option in the red zone.

46) New York Jets (via Colts) – Malachi Corley (WR – Western Kentucky)

The Jets traded back in the first round, adding a Day 2 pick, and still managed to fill their top two needs on offense. While New York added Mike Williams in free agency, the veteran was coming off a torn ACL and signed a one-year deal. Corley could be the next Deebo Samuel, making him a steal at this point in the draft.

Houston Texans receive pick 47. New York Giants receive picks 59 and 86.

47) Houston Texans (via Giants, Seattle) – Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (CB – Missouri)

Houston has had an A+ offseason, trading for Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon while signing Danielle Hunter and Denico Autry. However, they could use more help at cornerback opposite Derek Stingley Jr. even after signing a trio of veteran cornerbacks to one-year deals in free agency.

48) Jacksonville Jaguars – Max Melton (CB – Rutgers)

While the Jaguars signed Ronald Darby in free agency, that isn’t enough to offset the loss of Darious Williams. Furthermore, Jacksonville must improve its cornerback unit after the division rival Titans and Texans made blockbuster additions at wide receiver.

49) Cincinnati Bengals – Kingsley Suamataia (OT – BYU)

Orlando Brown Jr. had an up-and-down first year in Cincinnati. Meanwhile, Trent Brown signed a one-year deal to play right tackle after Jonah Williams left in the free agency. Suamataia would spend the 2024 season as a swing tackle before taking over as a starter in 2025.

50) Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans) – Chris Braswell (EDGE – Alabama)

The Eagles added Bryce Huff but traded away Haason Reddick this offseason. More importantly, Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat are entering the final year of their contracts. Philadelphia could add an edger rusher as early as the first round.

51) San Francisco 49ers (via Steelers) – Patrick Paul (OT – Houston)

Many believe the 49ers have an elite offensive line. However, the team struggled when Trent Williams missed time last season. The future Hall of Famer is near the end of his career, and San Francisco should explore drafting his replacement with one of their many picks this year.

52) Los Angeles Rams – Kamari Lassiter (CB – Georgia)

While the Rams made several moves in free agency to improve their secondary, they should spend a Day 2 pick on a cornerback. Tre’Davious White suffered a torn ACL and Achilles in the past three years, while Darious Williams is on the wrong side of 30.

53) Philadelphia Eagles – Payton Wilson (LB – N.C. State)

With three picks in the top 53 selections, the Eagles could walk away from draft weekend with three impact starters. Nakobe Dean has struggled to stay healthy in his NFL career. While Philadelphia added Devin White in free agency, that shouldn’t stop them from adding a linebacker on Day 2 of the draft.

Baltimore Ravens receive pick 54. Cleveland Browns receive picks 62, 113, 165.

54) Baltimore Ravens (via Browns) – Adisa Isaac (EDGE – Penn State)

Last year, the Ravens led the NFL with 60 sacks. Justin Madubuike signed a long-term deal with Baltimore after leading the team with 13 sacks last season. However, they lost Jadeveon Clowney in free agency while Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo combined for six sacks. Adding another young edge rusher to the rotation is critical.

55) Miami Dolphins – Braden Fiske (DL – Florida State)

Unfortunately, the Dolphins couldn’t afford to keep Christian Wilkins this offseason, as the star defensive lineman signed a massive deal with the Raiders. While he can’t single-handedly replace Wilkins, Fiske is a steal at this point of the draft and should have an impact as a rookie.

56) Dallas Cowboys – Jonathon Brooks (RB – Texas)

This pick will make the fantasy football community extremely happy. The Cowboys have a massive need at running back after Tony Pollard signed with the Titans. Brooks is coming off a torn ACL, but the team’s doctor performed surgery on the running back, giving them some inside information on his recovery.

57) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Edgerrin Cooper (LB – Texas A&M)

Tampa Bay lost Devin White in free agency. They managed to keep Lavonte David on a one-year deal. Meanwhile, K.J. Britt is entering the final year of his contract. Adding a linebacker early in the draft is an underrated need for the Buccaneers.

58) Miami Dolphins (via Packers) – Tyler Nubin (S – Minnesota)

The Dolphins lost starting safety Brandon Jones and top backup DeShon Elliott in free agency. While they added Jordan Poyer, the veteran signed a one-year deal and turns 33 on draft night. Nubin would be an ideal long-term option to pair alongside Jevon Holland.

59) New York Giants (via Texans) – Spencer Rattler (QB – South Carolina)

If the Giants don’t land a quarterback in the first round, expect them to explore options on Day 2. Many believe Rattler will be a second-round pick after a strong pre-draft process. He gives the team upside at the position but not at a high enough cost to keep them from drafting a quarterback next year if they have a top-five pick.

60) Tennessee Titans (via Bills) – Ricky Pearsall (WR – Florida)

While the Titans passed on a wide receiver earlier in this round, opting to trade down, that doesn’t mean they won’t select one on Day 2. Treylon Burks has been a bust as a former first-round pick, while DeAndre Hopkins is heading into the final year of his contract. Tennessee should spend multiple early-round picks in the draft improving the supporting cast around the quarterback.

Cincinnati Bengals receive pick 61. Detroit Lions receive picks 80 and 97.

61) Cincinnati Bengals (via Lions) – Ja’Tavion Sanders (TE – Texas)

Rarely do the Bengals trade up during the NFL Draft. However, the team can’t pass up the opportunity to give Joe Burrow a difference-maker at tight end. Sanders hasn’t had an ideal pre-draft process but remains in the mix to be the second tight end off the board.

New England Patriots receive pick 62, 156. Cleveland Browns receive picks 68, 103.

62) New England Patriots (via Browns, Ravens) – Roger Rosengarten (OL – Washington)

New England started this mock draft by selecting their quarterback in the first round while giving him a go-to weapon to start the second round. The Patriots managed to keep Mike Onwenu this offseason. Yet, they must continue to improve their offensive line for Drake Maye to succeed in the NFL.

63) San Francisco 49ers – Roman Wilson (WR – Michigan)

After trading away Brandon Aiyuk, the 49ers take advantage of the talented wide receiver draft class and double down on the position. Adonai Mitchell will give Brock Purdy a big-body outside receiver. Meanwhile, Wilson is an upgrade over Jauan Jennings in the slot.

64) Kansas City Chiefs – Ja’Lynn Polk (WR – Washington)

While everyone thinks the Chiefs will spend their first-round pick on a wide receiver, they thought the same thing last year, and look what happened. However, Rashee Rice’s off-the-field issues make the need at wide receiver more significant than it was two months ago. Polk’s draft stock has improved in the past few weeks, and he should be a late second-round pick.
