2024 NFL Mock Draft With Trades: Mike Fanelli (4.0)

The NFL world has its attention placed on the upcoming draft. The big event is less than three weeks away, meaning the rumor mill is on fire. Therefore, it’s the perfect time for another mock draft.

Let’s dive into my fourth NFL mock draft of the year. This mock draft is a two-rounder and contains 14 potential trades, including two in the top eight selections and a pair of big-name veteran wide receivers.

2024 NFL Mock Draft With Trades: Mike Fanelli (4.0)

Round 1

1) Chicago Bears (via Carolina) – Caleb Williams (QB – USC)

Williams won’t visit with any other team besides Chicago. It’s time to start writing this pick in with ink.

2) Washington Commanders – Jayden Daniels (QB – LSU)

The Commanders will select a quarterback with the No. 2 pick. However, which one remains to be seen. Daniels is the betting favorite to end up in Washington.

3) New England Patriots – J.J. McCarthy (QB – Michigan)

Reportedly, de facto general manager Eliot Wolf loves McCarthy. The Patriots have Jacoby Brissett under contract, allowing the rookie to spend the 2024 season learning from the bench if needed. If Jayden Daniels goes second overall, don’t be surprised if New England takes McCarthy over Drake Maye.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Minnesota Vikings receive pick 4. Arizona Cardinals receive picks 11, 23, 2025 first-rounder.

4) Minnesota Vikings (via Cardinals) – Drake Maye (QB – UNC)

It feels like a near-lock Minnesota will trade into the top five to select a quarterback. In this mock draft, they dance their way to turn in the draft card with Drake Maye’s name on it.

5) Los Angeles Chargers – Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – Ohio State)

While many believe the Chargers will draft an offensive lineman with their top pick, that will be harder to do if they don’t trade back. Passing up on Harrison for a starting right tackle is hard to justify. If Los Angeles stays at fifth overall, expect them to draft an elite wide receiver prospect.

6) New York Giants – Malik Nabers (WR – LSU)

The Giants would love to get their hands on one of the top four quarterbacks. However, that likely won’t happen unless they trade up. Instead, they stay put and take Nabers, giving whoever is under center next year a legitimate No. 1 caliber wide receiver.

7) Tennessee Titans – Joe Alt (OT – Notre Dame)

While it’s hard to say the seventh pick in the NFL Draft is a lock to happen, it feels like Alt will be a Titan. The team added Calvin Ridley in free agency, making wide receiver a secondary need.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Arizona Cardinals receive picks 8, 43. Atlanta Falcons receive picks 11, 35, 66.

8) Arizona Cardinals (via Falcons) – Rome Odunze (WR – Washington)

General manager Monti Ossenfort traded down and back up within four picks last year. Therefore, don’t be surprised if Arizona moves down with Minnesota but jumps back up to secure an elite wide receiver prospect for Kyler Murray. Landing Odunze and a pair of first-round picks for the fourth overall selection might go down as one of the best draft moves in NFL history.

9) Chicago Bears – Troy Fautanu (OL – Washington)

Many expect the Bears to take an edge rusher with this pick if they can’t land Rome Odunze. However, the team has done their homework on the offensive line class. Despite having only four picks in this year’s draft, Chicago should do everything possible to support Caleb Williams.

10) New York Jets – Brock Bowers (TE – Georgia)

The Jets would love to trade back and acquire some Day 2 draft capital. However, there isn’t a trade worth making, leaving the team with a decision — draft an offensive lineman for the future or a weapon for this year. Pairing Garrett Wilson with Bowers would give Aaron Rodgers two elite pass-catchers in 2024.

11) Atlanta Falcons (via Cardinals, Vikings) – Dallas Turner (EDGE – Alabama)

Atlanta moves back three spots, adds draft capital, and still lands the top defensive player in the draft class. The Falcons haven’t re-signed either of their top two sack producers from last year, making an edge rusher their top need.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Pittsburgh Steelers receive picks 12, 203. Denver Broncos receive picks 20, 51.

12) Pittsburgh Steelers (via Broncos) – Taliese Fuaga (OT – Oregon State)

There will be a run on offensive linemen during the teens. Therefore, Pittsburgh gets aggressive and trades up to start the run. Whether it’s Russell Wilson or Justin Fields under center, the Steelers need to add a starting-caliber offensive tackle early in the draft.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Los Angeles Rams receive pick 13. Las Vegas Raiders receive picks 19, 83, 99.

13) Los Angeles Rams (via Raiders) – Byron Murphy II (DL – Texas)

Aaron Donald’s retirement leaves the Rams with a massive hole in the front seven of their defense. While no one can replace the future Hall of Famer’s production, Murphy is the clear-cut top defensive lineman in the draft class. Los Angeles has 11 picks this year, so parting with a pair of third-rounders to jump several potentially interested teams is a small price to pay.

14) New Orleans Saints – Olumuyiwa Fashanu (OT – Penn State)

The Saints are almost forced into taking an offensive tackle with their first-round pick. Trevor Penning hasn’t worked out as a former first-round pick. Meanwhile, Ryan Ramczyk‘s career is in jeopardy because of knee injuries.

15) Indianapolis Colts – Quinyon Mitchell (CB – Toledo)

Indianapolis re-signed Kenny Moore II this offseason to pair with JuJu Brents. However, they still need a starter on the outside. Mitchell’s draft stock has been heading in the right direction since a strong performance at the Senior Bowl. He is the betting favorite to be the first cornerback off the board.

16) Seattle Seahawks – Graham Barton (OL – Duke)

While the Seahawks would like to move back and add picks, there isn’t a trade worth making when they get on the clock. Therefore, Seattle improves the interior of their offensive line after losing multiple starters in free agency. Barton mostly played left tackle at Duke. Yet, many believe he will be a Pro Bowl-caliber player at guard or center in the NFL.

17) Jacksonville Jaguars – Terrion Arnold (CB – Alabama)

Many mock drafts have the Jaguars taking a wide receiver with their first-round pick after losing Calvin Ridley in free agency. However, the team signed Gabe Davis and has a significant need at cornerback. The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans made massive additions at wide receiver this offseason, meaning Jacksonville’s need at cornerback has become more momentous.

18) Cincinnati Bengals – Brian Thomas Jr. (WR – LSU)

Ja’Marr Chase has dealt with injuries the past few years, while Tyler Boyd‘s time in Cincinnati is over. Whether Tee Higgins gets traded or signs a long-term deal before the NFL Draft, the Bengals should consider a wide receiver with their top pick.

19) Las Vegas Raiders (via Rams) – JC Latham (OT – Alabama)

Las Vegas could consider drafting a quarterback after trading back. However, they have a massive need at right tackle. Latham is a force in the run game and could start as a rookie.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Green Bay Packers receive pick 20. Denver Broncos receive picks 25, 88.

20) Green Bay Packers (via Broncos, Steelers) – Amarius Mims (OT – Georgia)

The Packers have 11 picks in this year’s NFL Draft. Therefore, expect them to be aggressive in trade talks to move up and acquire picks next year. While Rasheed Walker did well filling in for David Bakhtiari at left tackle, Green Bay should use an early-round pick to improve Jordan Love‘s protection.

21) Miami Dolphins – Jer’Zhan Newton (DL – Illinois)

While most mock drafts have the Dolphins selecting an offensive tackle or wide receiver in the first round, they have a significant need on the defensive line. Christian Wilkins and his nine sacks from last season left in free agency. Miami added some solid rotational pieces but haven’t done enough to replace Wilkins up front, especially with their two star edge rushers coming off season-ending injuries.

22) Philadelphia Eagles – Chop Robinson (EDGE – Penn State)

Many will hate this pick with Jared Verse and Laiatu Latu still on the board. However, the Eagles have always valued traits over production when it comes to edge rushers, giving Robinson the advantage over Verse and Latu. With Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat heading into the final year of their contracts, Philadelphia should invest an early pick on a high-upside edge rusher.

23) Arizona Cardinals (via Vikings, Houston, Cleveland) – Nate Wiggins (CB – Clemson)

Arizona added Sean Murphy-Bunting in free agency but still needs help at cornerback. Wiggins’ lighter frame will cause some teams to pass on him in the first round. However, his coverage skills are exactly what the Cardinals need in a division full of talented wide receivers.

24) Dallas Cowboys – Tyler Guyton (OT – Oklahoma)

The Cowboys lost two starters on their offensive line in free agency, including long-time starting left tackle Tyron Smith. Dallas could kick former first-round pick Tyler Smith out to left tackle but would rather leave him at guard. Guyton has limited starting experience but massive upside.

25) Denver Broncos (via Packers) – Bo Nix (QB – Oregon)

After trading back twice and adding a pair of Day 2 draft picks, the Broncos finally snag their new starting quarterback. The rumor mill has made Denver the betting favorite to select Nix. Whether at 12th overall or later in the first round, expect Sean Payton to pick the former Oregon star.

26) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Cooper DeJean (DB – Iowa)

Earlier this offseason, the Buccaneers traded starting cornerback Carlton Davis to the Detroit Lions. Yet the team only made a pair of minor moves to replace the veteran. DeJean could start at cornerback, nickel or safety for Tampa Bay.

27) Arizona Cardinals (via Houston) – Jared Verse (EDGE – Florida State)

The run on offensive linemen pushed Jared Verse down the draft board. However, Arizona is happy to end the former Florida State star’s slide after Dennis Gardeck was the only Cardinal with more than four sacks in 2023.

28) Buffalo Bills – Laiatu Latu (EDGE – UCLA)

While the Bills have a massive hole at the wide receiver position after trading away Stefon Diggs earlier this month, they can’t pass up the value in Latu. Von Miller has been a massive bust. Furthermore, Buffalo lost their top sack producer in free agency after Leonard Floyd signed with the San Francisco 49ers.

29) Detroit Lions – Kool-Aid McKinstry (CB – Alabama)

Unfortunately, the Lions still need cornerback help despite adding Carlton Davis and Amik Robertson this offseason. The team recently released Cameron Sutton after allegations of domestic violence. Detroit hit a home run with former Alabama defensive back Brian Branch last year. So they return to the well this year and draft McKinstry.

30) Baltimore Ravens – Adonai Mitchell (WR – Texas)

Despite using their first-round pick in two of the past three years on a wide receiver, the Ravens still need help at the position. Zay Flowers had a solid rookie season, but his size limits his role on offense. Meanwhile, Rashod Bateman will likely have his fifth-year option declined this offseason after struggling with injuries throughout his NFL career. Mitchell would give Lamar Jackson a big target capable of making plays downfield and in the red zone.

31) San Francisco 49ers – Jordan Morgan (OL – Arizona)

San Francisco has an average offensive line outside of left tackle Trent Williams. However, the future Hall of Famer turns 36 in July and has dealt with injuries in his career. Morgan can start his career at guard before taking over at left tackle when Williams calls it a career.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Tennessee Titans receive pick 32, own 2025 third-rounder. Kansas City Chiefs receive pick 38, 2025 second-rounder.

32) Tennessee Titans (via Chiefs) – Xavier Worthy (WR – Texas)

While Calvin Ridley is a capable No. 1 wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins is entering the final year of his contract. Therefore, don’t be surprised if the Titans trade into the late first round for a wide receiver to improve Will Levis‘ supporting cast. Tennessee traded their 2025 third-round pick to Kansas City a few weeks ago for L’Jarius Sneed. As part of this draft-day trade, the Titans will get back their third-round pick in 2025 in exchange for their second-round selection.

Round 2

33) Carolina PanthersLadd McConkey (WR – Georgia)

The Panthers added Diontae Johnson this offseason but should add another weapon to Bryce Young‘s receiving group.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Las Vegas Raiders receive pick 34. New England Patriots receive picks 44, 77.

34) Las Vegas Raiders (via Patriots)Michael Penix Jr. (QB – Washington)

After passing on a quarterback in the first round, the Raiders trade up to secure Penix. The Patriots have several holes to fill, making them likely trade partners at the top of the second round.

35) Atlanta Falcons (via Cardinals) – T.J. Tampa (CB – Iowa State)

Atlanta could surprise everyone and take a cornerback with their first-round pick. If they don’t, expect the Falcons to target one early in the second round to pair with A.J. Terrell.

36) Washington CommandersKingsley Suamataia (OT – BYU)

The Commanders have five picks on Day 2 and a massive hole at left tackle. Therefore, they will almost certainly select one with their top pick in the second round unless they don’t trade back into the first round for a blindside protector.

37) Los Angeles Chargers – Roger Rosengarten (OT – Washington)

While the Chargers could draft a right tackle in the first round, waiting until Day 2 to fill their need is the smarter move, especially given their need at wide receiver.

38) Kansas City Chiefs (via Titans) – Xavier Legette (WR – South Carolina)

After trading back with the Titans, the Chiefs add a boom-or-bust wide receiver to Patrick Mahomes‘ receiving room. The only question is will Legette turn into Skyy Moore or Rashee Rice?

39) Carolina Panthers (via New York)Jackson Powers-Johnson (C – Oregon)

Carolina spent massive money in free agency, improving their offensive line. Meanwhile, starting center Austin Corbett only played in four games last season and is entering the final year of his contract.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Houston Texans receive pick 40. Washington Commanders receive picks 42, 123.

40) Houston Texans (via Commanders, Chicago)Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (CB – Missouri)

The Texans have limited needs but a No. 2 cornerback is at the top of the list. Houston has plenty of draft capital this year, so flipping Washington a mid-round pick to jump over Green Bay for Rakestraw is a small price to pay.

41) Green Bay Packers (via New York) – Tyler Nubin (S – Minnesota)

Despite signing Xavier McKinney in free agency, the Packers still need help in the secondary at cornerback and safety. Nubin reminds some scouts of Antoine Winfield Jr., making the former Minnesota star a potential steal in the second round.

42) Washington Commanders (via Texans, Minnesota)Darius Robinson (EDGE – Missouri)

After moving back two spots and adding a fourth-round pick, the Commanders still get their target. Robinson’s draft stock has cooled off after rising draft boards at the Senior Bowl. Yet, he should start as a rookie opposite Dorance Armstrong.

43) Arizona Cardinals (via Falcons) – Zach Frazier (C – West Virginia)

Last year, Arizona started to rebuild their offensive line by drafting Paris Johnson Jr. After signing Jonah Williams in free agency, the Cardinals need help along the interior. Frazier would be a massive upgrade over any center currently on the roster.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

San Francisco 49ers receive picks 44, 103. New England Patriots receive picks 63, 135, Deebo Samuel.

44) San Francisco 49ers (via Patriots, Raiders)Malachi Corley (WR – Western Kentucky)

The 49ers can’t afford to have Brandon Aiyuk and Samuel on the roster in 2025. Instead of waiting a year to move on from one of them, San Francisco deals Samuel to the Patriots and selects his replacement with the draft pick. Many view Corley as a Samuel-like player, which could make the transition easy for the offense. Meanwhile, New England needs to add a No. 1 caliber wide receiver if J.J. McCarthy is going to have any chance of success in the NFL.

45) New Orleans Saints (via Denver)Keon Coleman (WR – Florida State)

Chris Olave is one of the more underrated players in the NFL. However, the Saints should add to their receiving core as Rashid Shaheed isn’t an ideal No. 2 wide receiver.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Washington Commanders receive picks 46, 234. Indianapolis Colts receive picks 67, 78.

46) Washington Commanders (via Colts) – Troy Franklin (WR – Oregon)

Washington has five picks on Day 2, so expect them to make a trade or two over the first few rounds. While the Commanders love Terry McLaurin and have high hopes for Jahan Dotson, the rest of the receiver core is awful.

47) New York Giants (via Seattle) – Braden Fiske (DL – Florida State)

Pairing Braden Fiske next to Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence would give opposing quarterbacks nightmares.

48) Jacksonville Jaguars – Bralen Trice (EDGE – Washington)

Josh Allen hasn’t signed a long-term deal since receiving the franchise tag. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have limited depth at edge rusher behind Allen and Travon Walker.

49) Cincinnati Bengals – T’Vondre Sweat (DL – Texas)

Most mock drafts will have the Bengals taking an offensive tackle with one of their top two picks. However, the team has a massive need on the other side of the line. DJ Reader signed with the Detroit Lions this offseason. Thankfully, Sweat is a near-clone of the star defensive lineman.

50) Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans) – Max Melton (CB – Rutgers)

The Eagles made some additions in the secondary this offseason, including bringing back C.J. Gardner-Johnson. However, Darius Slay and James Bradberry had rocky 2023 seasons and aren’t getting any younger.

51) Denver Broncos (via Steelers)Payton Wilson (LB – NC State)

Denver signed Cody Barton to a one-year deal in free agency. Meanwhile, Alex Singleton could be a cap casualty next offseason. Pairing Wilson with last year’s third-round pick, Drew Sanders would give defensive coordinator Vance Joseph an outstanding linebacker duo for the foreseeable future.

52) Los Angeles RamsKamari Lassiter (CB – Georgia)

While the Rams made several moves in free agency to improve their secondary, they should spend a Day 2 pick on a cornerback. Tre’Davious White suffered a torn ACL and Achilles in the past three years, while Darious Williams is on the wrong side of 30.

53) Philadelphia Eagles – Kris Jenkins (DL – Michigan)

Fletcher Cox retired this offseason. While the Eagles invested a first-round pick on Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter in back-to-back drafts, the depth behind them is thin. Jenkins would create an outstanding trio with the former first-round picks, keeping everyone fresh late in games.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Baltimore Ravens receive pick 54. Cleveland Browns receive picks 62, 113, 165.

54) Baltimore Ravens (via Browns) – Patrick Paul (OT – Houston)

The Ravens lost two starters on their offensive line this offseason, including right tackle Morgan Moses. More importantly, Ronnie Stanley has struggled with injuries the past few years and is a free agent after the 2024 season. Baltimore moves up ahead of a few offensive tackle-needy teams for Paul.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

New York Giants receive picks 55, 198. Miami Dolphins receive picks 70, 107, 2025 third-rounder.

55) New York Giants (via Dolphins) – Spencer Rattler (QB – South Carolina)

If the Giants don’t land a quarterback in the first round, expect them to explore options on Day 2. After missing out on Michael Penix Jr. at the top of the round, New York trades up to secure Rattler. He gives the team upside at the position but not at a high enough cost to keep them from drafting a quarterback next year if they have a top-five pick.

56) Dallas Cowboys – Jonathon Brooks (RB – Texas)

This pick will make the fantasy football community extremely happy. The Cowboys have a massive need at running back after Tony Pollard signed with the Titans. Brooks is coming off a torn ACL but the team’s doctor performed surgery on the running back, giving them some inside information on his recovery.

57) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Edgerrin Cooper (LB – Texas A&M)

Tampa Bay lost Devin White in free agency. They managed to keep Lavonte David on a one-year deal. Meanwhile, K.J. Britt is entering the final year of his contract.

58) Green Bay PackersJunior Colson (LB – Michigan)

Green Bay released De’Vondre Campbell earlier this offseason. While they have high hopes for Isaiah McDuffie, the Packers should add someone to challenge him next to Quay Walker.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Los Angeles Chargers receive picks 59, 238. Houston Texans receive picks 69, 105.

59) Los Angeles Chargers (via Texans) – Blake Corum (RB – Michigan)

Jim Harbaugh would rather cut off his left arm than leave the draft without Corum. Gus Edwards is a solid veteran free-agent addition but expect the Chargers to make sure they get the former Michigan star on Day 2.

*** TRADE ALERT ***

Tennessee Titans receive pick 60. Buffalo Bills receive pick 106, DeAndre Hopkins.

60) Tennessee Titans (via Bills) – Chris Braswell (EDGE – Alabama)

After passing on a wide receiver in the first round of this mock draft, the Bills trade for Hopkins. The veteran has one year left on his deal but showed he had plenty of gas left in the tank last season. He would allow Buffalo to punt on the wide receiver position for a year after trading away Stefon Diggs. Meanwhile, Tennessee can afford to move on from Hopkins after drafting Xavier Worthy in the first round.

61) Detroit Lions – Adisa Isaac (EDGE – Penn State)

Last year, Aidan Hutchinson had 11.5 sacks. However, he accounted for 28.1% of Detroit’s total. While they added Marcus Davenport in free agency, that shouldn’t stop the Lions from adding an edge rusher early in the draft.

62) Cleveland Browns (via Ravens) – Trey Benson (RB – Florida State)

Unfortunately, Nick Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury last year. The Browns say he will return during the 2024 season but don’t know when. Furthermore, the veteran is entering the final year of his contract. Cleveland added a few veterans in free agency but none of the options behind Chubb are in the same realm as Benson.

63) New England Patriots (via 49ers) – Ricky Pearsall (WR – Florida)

While the Patriots acquired Deebo Samuel earlier in this mock draft, they have the worst wide receiver core in the NFL. Therefore, adding multiple weapons early in the draft is critical for J.J. McCarthy’s development.

64) Kansas City Chiefs – Cooper Beebe (OL – Kansas State)

The Chiefs lost reserve guard Nick Allegretti in free agency. More importantly, Trey Smith and Creed Humphrey are entering the final year of their rookie contracts. One of them likely won’t return in 2025 unless Kansas City releases Joe Thuney. Either way, the team needs to beef up the interior of their offensive line.
