Rival MLB Best Ball Full Season

Full season best ball drafts are live at Rival Fantasy. Best ball is exploding in popularity for baseball, as daily management for a 162-game season can become a time-intensive process. Full season drafts are open until Opening Day, and you can also mock draft while you wait for your lobby to fill. I’ve already signed up for a couple of slow drafts (my preferred method for best ball) and have completed my first draft of the season. The draft interface is simple to use, and the picks come in quick in the mocks, so be sure to have your FantasyPros Cheat Sheet easily accessible. With 10 starting positions to just 10 bench, team composition and injury attrition (or lack thereof) will be key to success.

It is simple to choose your preferred format, league size, and entry fee, and once the league is full, you will receive both an email and push notification (if you allow them). There is only a five minute warning once the lobby is filled, so if you choose fast draft, be sure to at least have your email notifications set to on. Participating in at least one mock draft before your first Rival Fantasy live draft will allow you to familiarize yourself with the interface, make note of any perceived ranking inefficiencies, and it also allows you to test out different draft strategies and positions.

Rival Fantasy Best Ball In Season

For those interested in daily and weekly DFS, an in-season option will be available. Daily is like it sounds: draft a new team for each slate. Weekly, on the other hand, is more dynamic as you can start on any day of the week and have your roster compete for the rest of that week. This means your weekly best ball team can run from one to seven days, depending on when you draft. There are smaller team sizes and no bench in the In Season drafts, making drafting quicker and more straightforward. The In Season week runs from Monday to Sunday. If you create a team before Monday’s games, you will have a seven day team. However, if you draft before Thursday’s games, you will have a four day team. The lobby makes differentiating between daily and weekly a simple matter as the daily will have the date of the slate (e.g., March 28th) while weekly will have the name of the week of the fantasy season (e.g., Week 1 or Week 18). Daily and weekly drafts will start for the Seoul Series and then resume for Opening Day through the World Series.

Rival Fantasy Best Ball Draft Tips

  • Mock draft if possible, to familiarize yourself with the system as well as the pre ranks.
  • Positional depth is key, be judicious with your bench makeup.
  • Take care of hitting early. This doesn’t mean totally ignore elite pitching but you will need some consistent bats to win at MLB Best Ball.
  • Target inning eaters. You don’t want starting pitchers who consistently average five innings or less per start. This also means relievers do not have as much value in Best Ball.
  • Draft players set to be on opening day rosters. With only six bench spots, you cannot burn a roster spot on a prospect a big league club is trying to keep in the minors for months to manipulate service time and delay arbitration.
  • Punt relievers. This is a personal preference, but as innings eaters are targets, relievers are naturally less valuable in this format. Ignoring the position altogether allows me to use half of my limited bench space on starting pitching.
  • Consider stacks, but only when they make sense, don’t chase them.
  • OF is top-heavy. The elite OF-eligible players should be early round targets. The point disparity between the top guys and even the middle-tier players is significant.
  • Play responsibly and have fun!
