L’Jarius Sneed, Chiefs working on potential tag-and-trade
The Kansas City Chiefs are officially placing their franchise tag on CB L’Jarius Sneed, but they’re also working on a potential tag-and-trade move that could send him elsewhere.

Fantasy Impact

With Sneed set to hit free agency and the Chiefs having to be particular about where they allocate their resources, it might not be in Kansas City’s best interest to retain Sneed despite being the star CB he’s become. As a result, they are likely trying to get something in return instead of losing him for nothing. Sneed was permitted to seek out a trade partner, and Detroit and Miami were listed as rumored destinations heard in Indianapolis by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Marshon Lattimore could be available for trade
Several teams believe that CB Marshon Lattimore is available for trade with the New Orleans Saints cap-strung again.

Fantasy Impact

The Saints battle to make their way under the salary cap every offseason, forcing them to make tough choices they don’t want to make. One of these could be trading away Lattimore, a four-time Pro Bowler and the team’s leading corner. Lattimore will be 28 next season and has a $14.6 million cap hit, and he has an out after the 2024 season. After that, though, he has cap hits of $31.4 million and $28.6 million in 2025 and 2026, respectively, with a pair of void years to follow. A Lattimore move could be no more than a cap casualty in anticipation of future struggles.

Kenny Pickett could get another chance as team’s starter
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett could get another chance to be the team’s starter in 2024 despite his struggle-filled 2023 campaign.

Fantasy Impact

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Pickett connected with new OC Arthur Smith in Florida and reportedly had a “great” meeting. Sources in Indianapolis told Fowler they believe Pickett could get another chance with the belief he could improve under Smith’s guidance with Matt Canada now out of the picture. As well, Fowler said the team has begun the process of “rebuilding [the] third-year passer” for next season, though competition is still expected to be brought in.
