It was a wild Friday night in the Association last night (did anyone have a Jalen Brunson/Victor Wembanyama pair in DFS?). I did not but my cash lineup was still fire (as the kids say) with a 314 as I used the Golden State news to my advantage. We only have three games tonight and the start time is 5 PM EST, so let’s get right into it.

NBA DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Primer (Saturday, March 30)

Core Play

Giannis Antetokounmpo (F – MIL): $11,000 DraftKings, $12,000 FanDuel

This isn’t a hot take but it’s necessary to say. Damian Lillard is out for the Bucks tonight and Giannis Antetokounmpo has averaged 29.6 points per game (PPG), 10.3 rebounds per game (RPG), 6.6 assists per game (APG) and a 38.3% usage rate. The Bucks play a Hawks team tonight ranked fifth in pace and 27th in overall defensive efficiency. Don’t overthink this one.

Cash Game Considerations

Khris Middleton (F – MIL): $6,600 DraftKings, $6,900 FanDuel

Antetokounmpo will be the one everyone flocks to but he can easily be played alongside Khris Middleton. Middleton seems like he’ll always be injury-managed for his career but he’s played 33 and 39 minutes in the last two games, suggesting the training wheels are off again. Middleton also experiences a boost when Lillard sits, with a 28.2% usage rate over 26.2 minutes per game.

Bogdan Bogdanovic (G – ATL): $6,400 DraftKings, $7,100 FanDuel

I generally hate rostering Bogdan Bogdanovic in cash since he’s scoring-dependent. However, his role can’t be denied lately with Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu joining Trae Young on the shelf. Bogdanovic has averaged 40 minutes per game (MPG) over his last three and has taken 50 shots. Milwaukee ranks 26th in three-point defense.

Value Plays

Scotty Pippen Jr. (G – MEM): $5,300 DraftKings, $5,500 FanDuel 

It’s anyone’s guess what Memphis’ starting lineup will be on a night-to-night basis but they’re once again thin as Desmond Bane has already been ruled out tonight with back soreness. Scotty Pippen Jr. started next to Bane the other night and went 17-2-4 across 26 minutes. In five starts this season with Bane out, Pippen averaged 10.4 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 6.6 APG and 1.8 steals per game (SPG) in 27 minutes per game. He has value on this short slate, especially if you’re committed to Antetokounmpo up top.

Patrick Beverley (G – MIL): $3,600 DraftKings, $4,100 FanDuel

Patrick Beverley is playing with a torn ligament in his wrist, so he has to be considered a “higher-risk” play for re-injury, especially after only playing seven minutes on Thursday. However, one would imagine he’s going to start in Lillard’s place tonight and that he can get minutes into the mid-20s. If that’s the case, he’s a free square against an Atlanta defense ranked 21st against ball-handling point guards.
